This thread is for all of us who have been on the weight loss merry-go-round quite a few times. We have banded together to make this our FINAL time. We offer support & motivation, WEIGHT LOSS TIPS, food ideas – whatever you need to make it your FINAL time. If you start the day’s thread, please copy and paste this paragraph, with the following 2021 Goals:
Carole: 1.) Journal Daily, thoughts, feelings, ideas 2.) Track daily, Good, Bad, Ugly, HONESTLY 3.) Move every day, 10-30 minutes, as able 4.) Limit/Reduce Alcohol, All of it! 5.) Be thankful for something - every day.
Gabrielle: 1. Wellness--take steps each day to address better wellness (moving, attention to my eating, getting sleep, etc.) 2. Debt-- continue to take steps to eliminate debt (including the kids college debt that we are covering) so that I have no debt when I retire. 3. Connectedness-- each month have a plan to stay connected to those who I care about (maybe dinner once/month after COVID, Zoom, phone calls, etc.) 4. Creativity -- seek out projects that keep me using the creative side of my brain (knitting, paint parties?, etc.) 5. Journaling/Self-Awareness--find a way to journal my thoughts and to think through challenges and opportunities
Sue: 1. Get moving - plan to utilize my Cubii 3-5 times per week at least 2. Moderation - limiting junk, snacks, wine and all things I know that sabotage my success 3. Daily Gratitude - continue our November daily gratitude. 4. Start a journal - my "Life & Apples" journal will arrive later in the week. 5. Be more "present" - in life, in my journey, with family & friends, in all aspects of my world.
Jenny: 1) I'm moving to a clean eating plan like more veggie dishes and less red meat 2) I pulled out my Bob Harper from the Biggest Loser's " Yoga for weight loss DVD" and do that in the evening since it's pouring down rain here. 3) Cut way back on the wine at nights, they sell those tiny little bottles that have 5oz in them and limit myself to only 1-2 per day, that can work right? 4) Track everything even if I'm in the negatives and hold myself accountable
Christine: 1. Cardio exercise daily (walk, stationary bike) 2. FOLLOW the WW Plan using Honesty. 3. Daily gratitude - Say something NICE each morning
Karen: 1. Take one step at a time and be kind to myself. 2. Move by getting my kayak on the water at least one day per week... it will be more as the weather warms. 3. Stick to my intermittent fasting schedule. 4. Try to sleep reasonably.
Shelly: 1. Be more organized at work. Never leave with stuff on my desk 2. Be there for people when they need someone to lean on 3. Stick with WW plan!!! No matter what!!!! 4. Be a better influence on those around me.

Happy & SAFE Travels Sue ♥
Yes FINALLY Friday - another long week just about over! Blue jean day for me, and work is all caught up, except for one task ~ I can't seem to connect with the woman who can help me! UGH! I hate playing phone tag!
Think 1st Thursday went "as thought out" AKA Planned! YAY! I had a GOOD day with points, calories, carbs, water ~ Feels good!!
Gabrielle: I hope you have some time this weekend to rest/relax/regroup, seems it's been a long week for several of us {{{hugs}}}
LOL I don't think Ken is in pain, or he's afraid to tell me! LOL No, seriously, when I ask he says it still feels good. Guess the cortisone is working (for now). Oh well, maybe you are not going to need to track so diligently now? Maybe you are eating well enough that the tracking isn't going to change anything? I mean a lot of people don't track and they maintain nicely. Are you at maintenance or are you back to losing mode?
Karen: {{{{{hugs}}}}} Well, actually it's for the best - she is right where she needs to be! 17 days... and she will be getting her much needed rest ~ Good for her and Miss Eleanor ♥ I can only imagine how tough this is on you all, I saw on FB that you and James are the only visitors allowed? Is that due to Covid? Or to keep her quiet? Hey HB to you and my Grampa on May 22 ♥ May 23 will be here before you know it!! Now to focus on YOU... get some rest, help at Emily's house as you need to, but don't let yourself get sick while being there for them. When is your last day of school??

Finally Friday also means hair cut night! YAY I got an appointment for after work, so I don't have to be out at 8 AM tomorrow!! WOO HOO!! Tracy will bring the girls home with her after work Saturday morning. I will have to get them home in the afternoon - and I am not sure about the weather... it may be an indoor only day!! Whatever, after getting them home, I need a few groceries - and will figure something out for dinner!! Sunday we are doing MD Brunch - at my sisters' house. I am hoping the weather cooperates, so we can walk down - and then will walk home... a little exercise for a food filled day! I just KNOW she will go overboard! (She always does). SO I need to be in control of myself - no one can do it for me! The good news is - it will be a one meal day, I will not come home from there and have to cook dinner! LOL
Meanwhile, I still need to get through today - FRIDAY Will have Emily sit with me again today, she is catching on to a few of my tasks, a couple are "complicated". Not the work itself, but just not the "same" scenario every day. Each day there is something "different" to figure out! I have been doing it for over 10 years now, so to me it's all normal, but MAN trying to explain the different things as they arise is tougher than I thought it would be! Now I remember why I have never liked training people! What is 2nd nature to me now, is a PITA for newbies to learn! Oh and I do GET IT ~ I DO remember being there myself, the questions, the feeling lost ~ Ugh. Emily is actually helping to update my procedures! She had time yesterday, so I had her go into the procedure and add her little notes that she was taking as we were training! "Little" things, that as I write a procedure, again 2nd nature to me, she is finding not as simple as I have it written! I hope I am not making a mistake letting her make changes to my procedures? Hmm, seemed like a good idea, but now I am 2nd guessing myself. Oh well ~ we shall see!
OK Time to get moving here, need to put a lunch together today. I never even thought of it last night after dinner. Oh well, everything is ready, just need to be "tossed" together!
Hoping you all have a great Friday - anyone have decent weather to enjoy? We might see the sun again Sunday - but today and tomorrow, dismal, grey, cold (37 right now) and rainy! Anyone have MD plans??
♥hugs♥

Ahhh yes, Finally Friday! Today I am taking it easier - finished another contract report yesterday, adjusted one I submitted earlier (it was in draft form so still open to adjustments), downloaded information for the next round of reports, and paid some bills. Oh, and yesterday morning I finally finally filed our Federal Taxes lol - glad I waited for Turbo Tax to make necessary updates. We were quoted as owing $2,000 last February but with the new tax laws, we are now receiving a small refund! Whew! I knew something was up with that darn Unemployment Compensation DH received last year - so thankful the government adjusted tax on UC. Today is a No School Day for our students for Family Conferences (virtual) so work will be low key. After the craziness of this week and last, trust me, I am looking forward to getting some reports done and caught up. The Prince and Dragon Lady had a banner week of "Gotcha!" emails to me and a few others. Never once did he ask how last Friday's Remote Only Students state testing event went - nor did he ask how the schoolwide Math testing went on Tue and Wed. Instead he copied and pasted an email written by DL (her mean verbiage is always a dead giveaway) to me about not keeping up with Attendance during this time. REALLY? That's what your focus is? It was worded, "Let me be clear! YOU are responsible for sending out Attendance Improvement letters...FIRST and FOREMOST!..." yadda yadda yadda I honestly think word got back to her that I was doing a good job with coordinating the testing events and she just could not stand it that others were singing my praises. What ev er. Right? But it did sting. For a day. Then I let it go. The Girls and I took DM out for a nice dinner last night. I know, I know, what was I thinking? This may have to end. My intention was to celebrate all the good that was happening: BR remodel finished, Carly's new job, Lindsey's new internship/Grad school, etc. When DM gets on a roll she tends to show favoritism to one daughter and criticism towards the other right in front of us all. Too many hurt feelings between the Girls then. I can't keep covering for DM and soothing things over so it's better to just stop the visits and any opportunity DM would take to behave like this. We did manage to enjoy ourselves but it was difficult. DH just shakes his head as he has called it years ago seeing her act like this. Rain and cold temps here too - same as our Carole - sorry for the lack of personals but I do enjoy reading your daily posts and all that is happening and your thoughts on your days. Love that about our circle.

Good morning!
Oh yes, count me in as another person who is happy that it is Friday! Wow, such busy weeks as the school year closes (yesterday a teacher reminded me that it is 3 weeks before the end of the school year). Most of our programs are doing summer school (there is money for that from the state) so it will be a different summer---still better than last year though. It has been pretty warm around here--high 80's. The sunshine is nice but there is a lot of anxiety about fire season. Also, a lot of talk about power outages (the electric company turning our power off)---apparently we are going to need to be prepared for a lot of days with no power...sheesh. Anyway, it is nothing that I have control of, I can only control how I respond, right? Looking forward to a day today to get a few things done or well on their way to being done.
Carole: It sounds like you have a nice Mother's Day planned! No cooking, some walks, and one meal so you feel like things are not too overboard---a nice day! I hope that the weather cooperates too. Oooh...a haircut! That always feels good--I have one scheduled for next week on Wednesday--yay! I think that Mother's Day around here will be lowkey--I will make brunch for my mom and maybe the boys will come over (I am pretty sure they will). I need to get that planned. So you have another Friday evening to yourself? That will be relaxing! Hey, I think that it is a great idea to have someone add detail to your procedures that you have drafted---another person's take on it is always valuable and you can always look over it to be sure that there are not errors. I think that, the more we do something, the more we forget about the details that it takes since it is so routine for us. It sounds like the two new additions to your dept are working out so far! Good to hear. I do hope to have some time this weekend to get my "life" in order a bit more--- I do think that tracking is good for me to see the carbs/sugars. Since my thyroid was removed my sugar levels have increased and no one knows why--I haven't really changed how I eat, if anything I am more limiting of my carbs. So, I do need to track and need to get myself back on the train! So glad that Ken isn't experiencing pain--that is the bottom line, right? Hope that your day goes well and that your weekend starts in a relaxing, calm way!

Sue: Safe travels to you! Looking forward to a few pictures of TX when you get back!
Christine: Wonderful to see you and to hear how things are going. I am so glad that you didn't let DL's harsh words get to you --- I get that it hurts initially, but glad that you didn't let it consume you. What a terrible woman! Is it your last report that you have done? It seemed like you had so many! I hope so! What a nice idea to celebrate the good things that have been going on! Uggghhh though to your mom and her behavior. It must be so hard to watch/hear! I am glad that DH is there to support you and acknowledge that he sees it too. It's sad, but you have to do what you can for your kids....and it sounds like she isn't going to change. I feel fortunate as this has not been the case at all with my mom---she really does seem to love her grandkids (and kids) equally...she is turning 80 on 6/26 (same age as your mom, right?). I hope that you have a nice, relaxing Mother's Day! You certainly deserve it!
Karen: Oh, I am sorry that Emily is in the hospital, but I wonder if (ultimately) this will make her feel better and maybe you too since someone always has an eye on her and the baby...maybe? I know that this is not how anyone expects the end of their pregnancy to be but the end is in sight and, once that sweetie is in your arms, it won't matter. I hope that you can get some rest knowing that she is getting good care.
Hello to all who follow. I am running low on salad greens (I guess I ate more of them this week??) and need to grab a bag on the way to work before my 8:00 am Zoom. Hope that you all have a good day and a nice, calm start to the weekend! I am looking forward to that!
