Good goals June Ann - 3 days to decompress, 3 weeks to learn the routing, 3 months to feel like home is what they told me at the rescue. Becky - You are right. We will always miss our mom. Mine will be gone 29 years next week. Just some days more than others. Glad your friend was able to do the vaccination. Bee - Glad you are in such close contact with your kids. Audrey - My doctor always orders the blood work after my visit. I think part of it is in case either of us has any concerns needing additional tests done at one time. Cathy - Wise to be cautious until the vaccine is fully in effect. MJ - You and Toots are amazing!

LOL Bee. Always nice when Mother Nature waters the flowers. You are blessed to have family that you get to text with. We came back from a very long hood walk. Not many steps, but people all wanting to meet Benjamin. He passed with flying colors and LOVED the attention not to mention the treats. Carl is off to BJ's solo. I gave him the list and hopefully he finds all that's on it.
Susi it took LuLa all of that and more to get settled in with us. Benjamin is a different story as he was never actually in a shelter. He came from a loving home into another loving home. He's adjusting well. People here are just so happy for the three of us.
Going to relax now with Benjamin. Waving

MJ, do more trees have to be cut down? Bee, what type of spaghetti sauce are you making? Ann, I am happy for you, Carl and Benjamin that he has his furever home. It must be so hard on animals to keep moving from home to home.

Ann - I'm glad he is adjusting so quickly. I thought it would be faster mowing with the trees down and a straight line. Nope. And it started to drizzle when I only had about 5 minutes left. So I got damp. I then caught up on Big Sky. I'll never watch 3 episodes in a row again! Way too intense. I definitely can't watch it at night. Not my type of show at all but I am hooked.

What happens to the trees that are felled? Do they use them for firewood or??? MJ, do more trees have to be cut down? Son#2 has the Great Wall of Wood down one property line (the neighbor's property is also wooded). He shares his firewood with his siblings for their firepits, and he has both a firepit and a fireplace.

Audrey, it is a Cajun thing, where they brown the tomato paste. Someone brought mesome and I loved it so I askedhow to make it. It will be tomorrow before I do it, as I do not have all I need.
Don't know how many of you like balsamic vinegars, but my latest favorite is Blackberry Ginger.

Audrey it has to be so hard on an animal to be shoved from place to place like that. With foster care if you foster an older animal it usually stays with you as unfortunately nobody wants a senior. I already told them feel free to send us the older ones as at least we'd get to keep them. Susi I can't watch or read anything intense later in the day. It works on my dreams and turns them into nightmares. Can't deal with that. Sorry you got rained on. MJ how nice of son #2 sharing firewood. I bet they appreciate it. When we had trees cut down one of our neighbors came and helped himself. It was a good way to get rid of it Bee I love balsamic vinegar. When I make meat sauce I always brown the tomato paste in a little olive oil then I add the onions and garlic and green peppers. That's the way my mom did it and I just follow suite The sun has come back out. I took Benjamin in the yard awhile ago. He wasn't in the mood to walk. Probably tired of 'meeting people' LOL.

Ann Love that Benjamin is making you,Carl, & your neighbors so happy & that you could directly adopt him. You are right. We remember those who go before us & miss them. Audrey What spices or prep isneeded for Morrocan carrots? I meant to ask you that before. Hope that second, higher WI number soon takes a hike. When are Leo & Norafinished w/ the school year?
Bee I picture you as Queen Bee of your extended family. I recently learned that your hometown is named after an indigenous tribe. (Was reading about their support for Indigenous Peoples' Day).
Becky Am hoping that today is a little better. Only natural to miss your momma on MD's. I always remember what mydear FIL said to me months after when my twin died. He was 70 yrs. old at the time. He said, "June, I still miss my momma and daddy." It was so sweet. He wanted me to know that it was okay to miss a loved one. 💗 Sounds like your friend made quick work of the vaccination. Glad you got to church & enjoyed a BBQ lunch!
Cathy What I read is that the 1st does helps the body recognize the virus. The highest degree of immunity kicks in 2 weeks after the 2nd dose. Nice that Monouh can run errands and you can stay home.
Someday R & I plan to drive over the new Walt Whitman Bridge, for which he built the spans . (Think it is in Delaware). When I drive locally, I see houses & building that my dad built or bricked. I see bridges, stadium features, toll booths walkways, & cell towers that R built. If I drive to w. Pa, I can see church's built from stone cut by one of my great grandfathers. It's pretty cool.
I have mostly spent my summers taking care of a niece, nephew, or parent.
LaDonna Are you gettingbusy w/ any end of the school work? Did Lucy get you anything for MD's?
Mj Yep-- that is the way. If you had tried to take down the worst tree first, it might have put an end to the project. Love those hugs from the grands. Those are good for the heart!
Susi Thx for explaining the timetable for a pet to adjust inthe foster system. Didyour payroll glitch get fixed?
My day thus far. . .
Whew.... finally finished w/ all my phone calls Feeling very accomplished. Everything is in place for Medicare. Decided not to wait until Jan. switch my PC doctor. After yrs. of dealing w/ the unhelpful & unpleasant office mgr. for my parents,R,& myself- I am d-o-n-e. Have eye, new patient & dermatology appointments on the books --all infirst 2 weeks of June!

Don't know how many of you like balsamic vinegars, but my latest favorite is Blackberry Ginger. My salad dressing consists of 1T apple balsamic and 1t clementine olive oil, both locally made. I am sure I would love blackberry ginger.

Work will be busy this week as I play catch up to be off a few days. Randy and I are going on a little road trip later this week and some into next. More info later Hope everyone's day is going well. My son called and asked me to lunch so the two of us met at the little TexMex down the street. I'll definitely need to keep the rest of the day light as today was a reset after over doing yesterday. Hugs to all missing loved ones. I miss my grandparents as I grew up in the house with them. They were my rock. I never knew my dad but thankful my mom is around. I'll chat more a little later. I need to reread the posts as I only had time to skim. Talk later

June, Moroccan carrots have salt, garlic, olive oil, orange juice, cilantro, mint, hot pepper, lemon juice and cumin.
MJ, we are rarely allowed to burn in fireplaces because of the bad air quality in our area. That's why we bought the gas insert last year.
June, you were busy on the phone this morning but it sounds like it was very productive. An office manager can make or break a doctor and the doctor never knows how bad it is.

Cathy I hope M had a successful trip. Elgin is known as the sausage capital of Central TX. We have 2 BBQ places to choose from. One is more expensive than the other and not as good IMO. The one we like serves turkey breast, chicken, hot sausage and brisket with a variety of sides. We always get the senior plate and it's a smaller size portion of meat and we both like their pinto beans. The sauce doesn't taste sweet tomato as such but it's not clear either. This place makes their own sauce. One is the original and my favorite is honey mesquite sauce.
Ann Thanks it was tough especially with my dad passing away 3 days before Christmas and we had his funeral on Christmas Eve. My niece who has had so many surgeries was still a child back then and she was so upset. I had bought a small artificial tree for my dad to have in the hospital and after he passed away she cried so hard and asked if she could have the tree. He always collected dimes to have on hand when My DB and DSIL would bring her and her brother to the house to give them. I am so glad Benjamin went from one loving home to another loving home. We always end up getting ours at the county animal rescue center.
MJ As long as you enjoyed your Mother's Day that is all that matters.
Ann Hope your tummy is feeling better. It's been cloudy most of the day. We may get rain tonight but I don't think so. We have a chance of rain for the next 6-7 days.
Bee Happy you had a good Mother's Day and get to hear from your kids so often.
Susi You are right. We will always miss our mothers and we were best friends.
June So sweet of your dad to tell you that. Glad you finished all your phone calls.
LaDonna I'm glad you and R will be able to take a road trip.

Back again. Had a nice laid back day. Benjamin and I 'hung out' and then we walked him once more. Now I'm in for the night. In a bit I plan on getting 'jammified' and just reading awhile. June how wonderful that a drive can take you to places family members helped build. Glad those phone calls are one and done and good luck with your new doctors. Never easy dealing with grumpy office managers. Becky yes holidays where a death is involved makes it that much harder to deal with. (((hugs))) Thanks my tummy did settle down. Took a cup of tea and a ginger ale and now I'm good as new LOL. LaDonna so happy that you and DH will be getting away soon. Something fun to look forward to It was great the Carl brought home Subway for supper. It was their grilled chicken with mozzarella cheese and lots of fresh veggies. I put it in the toaster oven to heat. We had it with a side salad and it was tasty and filling.

LaDonna Lovely idea - mother/ son lunch Cannot wait to hear about your upcoming trip.
Audrey & Ann Wish that I liked balsamic vinegar since there are many ways to use it.
Audrey & Ann Elizabeth is unhelpful to the point of being obstructive. Her default answers are "no" and "it was no our fault."
Becky It was. My FIL was such a good guy, but usually a quiet man. He really touched my heart. Was very happy to have make informed decisions.
Ann LOL. . . Benjamin's arrival was big news at our house. K wanted to know if you could text a picture ofBenjamin to me if it is not too much trouble.
