Each day, think about the positive actions that you made the day before and identify the challenges you are working on. Anyone with a positive commitment to the program can join. If you are the first one to post each week, please copy, paste and get us started. If you choose, pose the Question of the Day (QOTD) that solicits constructive ideas for following the plan.

Good Morning!! Love, light, blessings, and good health!!
I hope each of you had a splendid Mother's Day!!!
Nat, leaving pancakes!! Wow, although that seems to be so alien to me (I have never done it) that is a HUGE NSV! I think we all love the idea of you being around more. I know how much you helped me put together my home workout when quarantine first started. I still have gained way too much weight but without you it would have been even more.
Yes I did: home abs, gym (biceps, triceps, elliptical), long walk (part of it in the rain but had a good hat thankfully), and finish mowing yard. Also, did some more yard work. Rewarded myself (yes Jan treating myself as if I were someone I loved) with a bunch of fresh produce! God is so good and I also got to talk to both my parents on the phone. I am planning a visit to see them later in the month. I have explained to both of them that I am on a very strict diet. I have even already had the talk with Ma ("But it is so good for you" "Not saying it is poison, just too many calories and not having any thank you very much for asking." "As you know, I take after Grandma and I have to work harder to keep a healthy weight") I have already started a load of wash to hang out in the spare bath. Yes I do so hate the rainy season but necessary for the lush green that is Central Texas. Yes I can: hang out wash, productive law day. Home abs, walking breaks (weather permitting), tonight mega night at gym -- legs, spinning class, walk on either the indoor or outdoor track (umbrella). I continue to be OP and am working on portion size of zero point foods. I am also doing it in a way that is (a) sustainable and (b) will allow me to keep this weight off. I am also trying to be gentle with myself -- most of my friends have packed on a little quarantine weight. I am trying to make a homemade fat farm (fitness vacation). I looked up their schedule and decided I can do that. My biggest worry is regaining everything I have lost on the trip back home but am doing much advance planning to avoid that. I already have a big bag of tuna packed in water ready to go! I appreciate each of you and am incorporating each of your suggestions!! Love, light, blessings, and good health, janet

Happy Monday Canners Your plan sounds wonderful Janet- go you! I love the fitness vacation idea- look up Canyon range for additional ideas. I have decided to double track for the remainder of May- with WW and fitness pal for calories- since I predict my portion and use of zero point foods do not actually balance. I imagine the calorie tracking will keep me in the correct point range. Will see. After a ridiculous sweet treat inhale yesterday- along with some crunchy and add in numbing copious amount sour cream dip- never mind the additional details... Back in the saddle- again and again Wishes for a great week!

Happy Monday, My friends have really been spoiling me celebrating my B-day, and it's not till tomorrow! Two parties so far and my artist friend invited my Sweetie and I for dinner yesterday with her husband. We had Pisco Sours, (I had never had one), onion cheese puffs, steak, potatoes, corn on the cob, salad with homemade dressing and topping, and my Sweetie was in Cahoots and had delivered a favorite ice cream pie to her house the day before to surprise me. Wonderful cards, presents and a dozen roses. I was just blown away at their efforts. I am just resting and doing laundry today after all that rich food. Whew! Wildlife Report: My Sweetie bought us two critter cams so we can keep track of the birds and baby squirrels. Fun! Today I saw a beautiful Spotted Towee, a rare sighting. Janet: Come next Monday I am joining your Fat Farm aka Spa Vacation at home for the rest of May and June. This week I will just relax and enjoy since I am giving a Birthday dinner party for two of our neighbors/friends on Friday night, and Saturday, I have a meet up with friends. I need to start on a clean slate week. You CAN handle the parents visit and keep OP. I know you CAN. You have also been a great role model for me with all your yardwork, various exercises, and walking. And you did it all in a State that has not always been focused on health during this Pandemic. Hat's off to you friend. Don't forget to have a little fun on your "vacation". Sally: Nice to hear from you. No guilt for Mother's Day treats you deserve every special thing. Mothers, and Grandmothers, are heroes in my book. Nat: So glad you are here again. We miss you. Glad your family spoiled you too on Mother's Day. You know, one thing that always helped me deal with challenging people at work is just this thought....when someone throws a "hot potato" at you, you don't have to catch it. What they are throwing your way is not yours. I would say to myself "hey this isn't mine" and mentally step away. Don't let anyone walk in your head with their dirty feet. That said, I am sure a lot of the people you deal with have some real issues, the good thing is you are learning some tough new life skills. We are all behind you friend! So glad you're back. Carol: Hope you had a nice weekend. How's the flower planting? Is it time for zinnias yet? I am growing some sunflowers and hope they don't block the front window view. I'll let you know how the critter cam works. Must get help to install. Wish I had your computer skills. Sweet Dreams tonight my friends. Jan

Good Morning!!! Love, light, blessings, and good health.
Cyber birthday party for Jan -- loads of fresh fruit & veggies & critters! Non stop yard work.
Sally back in the saddle!!!!! We have all been there. I will look up Canyon Range.
Happy Birthday Jan!! Critter cam sounds great. I am really looking forward to hear how the Earlitos do on the big screen. Going to see my folks definitely not a vacation but I realize how very, very, very blessed I am to be able to do that. But, great news, my closest friend from El Paso might visit in August and that would be a vacation. Thanks for the support!! Looking forward to have you on board for spa vacation on a budget. Yes, yard work definitely counts.
Yes I did: manage to get in four hours of exercise yesterday. Fat farm vacation in town while running a law practice. Walking, spinning, weights, and home circuit. I am trying for 28 hours a week. I started counting on Saturday and am up to 15 hours so far. OP with portion control. I got on the scale at the rec ctr and although I would love to lose ten more pounds I think that seven would make a pretty big difference. (and probably more realistic) I hope that in person meetings (and the pool reopens) soon. Those things would really help.
Yes I can: home workout, walk if possible (another rainy day), cardio, circuit class, and then walk with friend (weather permitting, I will have yoga mat in car if it is awful and of course an umbrella). Friend is going to take some high point meat substitutes off of my hands to feed her grandkids. What a relief! Good news, lawyer emailed me "check in the mail" which probably means it will get mailed next week but still good news . . . First step -- get dressed! love, light, blessings, and good health, janet

Good Tuesday Morning, positive peeps π£π£!
Nat - it's good to see you on here again! We miss you! I hope the stress level at work is simmering down. I am obviously impressed by the leaving of pancakes on a plate, LOL. You know how I am about 'cakes...but I have not been to my beloved diners in months! Not totally comfortable with indoor dining yet.
Jan - πHAPPY BIRTHDAY! And how good to have friends to help carry on the celebrations! And oh, I am so excited about your critter cams!
Janet - Kudos on the in-town fat farm program! 4 hours a day of workouts is impressive! And I had to laugh about the "check in the mail"...so true!
Sally - Yay for diligent tracking. It's good every once in awhile to do those reality checks. I did the double tracking with MFP for awhile to make sure I was getting enough fiber, for my gut issues.
Yes I DID: --enjoy a Zoom class about "7 Female Mystics" yesterday...gave me some ideas for books to read and such. I want to learn more! --walk outside yesterday and this morning before breakfast...weather is sunnier then, although crisp. --FitSteps Cardio Dance this a.m...some good Latin dancing today
Yes I CAN: --relax and enjoy getting my hair cut, colored, highlighted today
Be well! Carol

Happy Tuesday and Happy Birthday Jan!! I hope you are being spoiled today. Janet, I think I need that fat farm program LOL, go girl! Carol yes I'm impressed with myself at leaving some pancakes on the plate, but they were huge. Waves Sally, hope all is well with you. Next week I am on vacation, staying home most of the week but sister will be here from Nevada on that Friday though Monday so will spend some time down at parents visiting and celebrating her and mom's birthdays. She's the sister we had just discovered in 2015. She'll get to spend some time with mom which will be nice for both of them. I'm going to get myself out for some hikes. That will help my mental health. And yes Jan, I am learning some tough things right now and I've got to keep giving myself the positive talk and prayers to keep me going. These last three workdays have been overwhelming with some staffing issues. One foot in front of the other Yes I CAN: Smile, get through it, stay positive! Night all. Nat

Happy Tuesday.
Janet: 4 hours of exercise? Wow, in addition to your regular active lifestyle? I am shooting for one hour a day. You are a Warrior! WTG on getting on the Rec Center scale...guess you can't weigh naked there. LOL
Nat: So glad you are getting a vacation week. Not enough staff at work is indeed a burnout. Hope your Mother has a lovely Birthday and you both enjoy the new sister visit. Joining us on the Frugal Fat Farm? Monday is DO day for me.
Carol: Ooh, your Women Mystics Zoom sounds interesting. I love Pema Chodron but I guess she doesn't fit that category? Good job on the before breakfast walks. Glad you got a little sunshine. Enjoy the pampering at the hairdresser!
Sally: Join us at the Virtual Fat Farm??? Where all we have to do is hike in the cool morning air, have a massage, enjoy healthy and beautifully plated meals and sip Ice water with lemon from a frosty glass. My fantasy!
I had action packed day beginning at the Auto Club to pick up license plates for the new (to me) Volvo. Spent the rest of the day cleaning the house and patio room for our 6 person, all totally vaccinated, party on Friday. Shop tomorrow and cook a few things ahead. My friend brought me a lemon tart this evening for a surprise with a little ballerina on top. Someday I WILL dance again. Need to call and make that appt for the knee, and find a home for some of this delicious tart.
Sweet Dream All.
Jan

Good Morning!!! Love, light, blessings, and good health!
Carol you are the queen of zoom! I love hearing about all the fabulous zooming that you are doing. I am jealous of your Latin dancing. I had knee surgery so I could dance but have been scared to try it. How did your hair appointment turn out?
Nat you have totally earned a vacation. Totally. I have been there with work. Sending you white light and calming vibes.
Jan it is four hours total, I count everything toward it including yard work, quick walking breaks, vigorous sweeping . .. My life style is pretty sedentary as a "desk lawyer". Also, it is an average of four hours a day. Some days I get more so that some days I get less. Last weekend I was able to get many more hours which means some days I can get way less. Weather in Central Texas can be iffy so some days those walking breaks are not going to happen. WTG on those chores being done. Yes, let's both dance again. I am scared but I am two years post knee surgery at the end of the month, have done all the prep work (months of physical therapy, a trainer, exercising on my own . . .) . I am shooting for June maybe to start dancing again.
Yes I did: home abs, walking breaks as possible (crummy weather in the afternoon) including a walk with gal pal, rowing machine, stationary bike, and circuit class. Lots of law. I gave away some dangerous food in freezer for my walking pal to feed her grandkids. Already this morning started on chores and food prep. Big veggie salad made. Remembering planning ahead is such a big part of me staying OP and eating clean. Started on new project. Yes I can: not let new project derail my budget fat farm. Home abs. Continue walking breaks (weather permitting). Prep fruit. Eat clean and OP. Cardio, double header (yoga & barre class). love, light, blessings, and good health, janet

Happy Wednesday.
Sitting here looking out the window at 6 baby squirrels lined up around their food tray. They are starting to climb the post where I hang the bird feeder but so far haven't figured out how to shimmy down the wire. Another hawk visited us yesterday by the bird feeder. I just banged on the window and he was pretty terrified and flew away. Guess he doesn't know he is NOT invited to the squirrel and birdie breakfast club. I know they have to eat too... but not my babies!
Janet: I know how you feel being afraid to get back to dancing with your knee. It's just so nice to walk without pain that to push it to dance is scary. Your Dr. gives you the OK? I am hoping to get shots of Supartz so I can delay knee replacement as long as possible. Even if it's not the vigorous dance I used to do I trust we can move and groove again. You are so right that meal prep is critical to success. Thanks for the reminder. Starting FFF (Frugal Fat Farm) on Monday so Sunday I need to prepare ahead. Have a nice walk and hope the sun breaks through. It's May grey here. No sun, no rain, just blah.
Carol: Hope you're feeling beautiful with hair all cut and colored.
Sally and Nat: Hugs Girls!
Make it a great day. Have some fun!

Good Morning!!! Love, light, blessings, and good health.
Jan, I have really lousy insurance which translates into really lousy medical care. No idea what doc thinks but am listening to my body. I am looking for another personal trainer with experience in sports injuries (ACL/Meniscus). You are so right about planning ahead and tonight is my grocery run. I love hearing about the baby squirrel antics.
Yes I did: several very short walking breaks, crummy weather continues. Less chance of rain today but still gloomy -- I am going to hang out wash and hopefully more walking breaks. I also did home abs, rowing machine, and double header (yoga and barre class). Eating clean, OP, mindful of portion control. OP since the first week of April and portion control for about a week. Last night I actually got some sleep which is a gift and a miracle. I got a lot done on new project but nothing done on the old ones unfortunately. Yes I can: home abs, walking breaks, hang out wash, cardio, and weight class. Then healthy shopping. Hopefully productive day with law biz. Because some days I get way more AP today is my scheduled day to spending less time exercising. Allowing time for healthy shopping & food prep is important also. I might be close to the halfway mark which is a dangerous place because I want to ease up. Nope, not easing up. Made too many sacrifices to quit now. Love, light, blessings, and good health. janet

Happy Thursday Morning.
Janet: Rest days are very important, yes we can over-exercise. Gloomy here too. Makes me feel a bit depressed and I have nothing to be down about. Bring on the California and Texas sunshine! Six weeks on track is amazing. High Five! A good night's sleep is a beautiful thing.
Just cooking and cleaning for our little neighbors B-day celebration. My pal is making 2 side salads and a cake so I have it easy. Leftover pasta and potato salad go home with her! I am doing pulled pork and a huge green salad with Homemade Balsamic dressing. Do you make your own salad dressings? I find they are SO much better. Not much else going on here. Just using portion control the rest of this week but it's working so far.
Yes, I Can... --use boundaries with a friend who wants "a favor". --keep it simple for tomorrow's dinner. No one will starve. --park my head in a peaceful place. Grateful that SD's positivity total was less than 1% yesterday. Very good news.
Wishing you all a lovely day.

Good Morning!! Love, light, blessings, and good health.
Jan yes I do make my own dressing about half the time. Yours sounds yummy. Good for you for setting boundaries. I hope the BDAY celebration turned out well. Good for you for a plan for the leftovers.
Yes I did: weight class, rowing machine, home abs, and short walks. Lots of law. A load of wash. Finished up with healthy shopping and food prep. I took some folic acid at night (I had heard it was good for you and I had a coupon). I think I will take it in the morning. I don't know it is the reason I couldn't sleep but it might have been. Yes I can: home abs, spinning class, walk, and yard. Taking a rest day from law as weekend is supposed to be rainy. I will play catch up over the weekend. I got on the scale. Since I started I think I have lost about 6 or 7 pounds. I have about that to go. I can get into more of my clothes - I just look chubby in them. I will ease up on the workouts when I go home. Probably just walking and whatever I can do without equipment or in the motel gym/pool. Now get dressed and get started. love, light, blessings, and good health, janet

Good Friday Afternoon, peeps!
Nat: hope you are enjoying weekend with family
Janet: yay for healthy shopping, I tried to do that extra diligently today as sweetie is concerned about his own weight creep during the past few months
Jan: yay for good friends, good stats, and good boundaries
Tap class this morning had me working up a sweat. It's a challenge again, as I am taking the next level up (my level class was canceled due to low enrollment...well, it is summer)....when we are in person again, I probably will drop back a level. But for now, I have to practice in between classes! It is mostly low impact and "easy" compared to regular dance classes. The program is exclusively for people over 50, and they modify steps to accommodate that fact. Anyway, I feel like everything I am doing is a challenge, sometimes, if not for my body then for my brain. LOL!
This is just a quick hello, heading out for our first bike ride of 2021 (Come to think of it, I don't think we did ANY bike rides in 2020, either). It is the first in a string of beautiful warm, sunny days ahead. So today my Sweetie got the bikes out, tuned them, washed them (!) and we are off to the trails.
Back later! Carol

Good Morning! Love, light, blessings, and good health.
Carol hooray for restarting bike rides! And working up a sweat in tap class.
Fat farm on a budget continues. I am a little worried about losing momentum because I am about at the halfway mark and that can be dangerous territory. But so far doing okay although portion sizes on zero point foods creeping up. Yes I did: spend most of the day outside, rain arriving again starting today and continuing for over a week. Crummy weather. Much walking, home abs, spinning class, yard. I am very glad yard is under control (never done) and somewhat caught up on laundry. I am starting to look better in clothing but I still look pretty scary out of the shower. Trying to be gentle with ME -- this took years to come on and will not come off overnight or even in a month. I looked up the local fat farm and it is $790 a day plus taxes and hidden fees. Yes, I will treat myself to something when I get there, whenever I decide what "when I get there" looks like. Yes I can: lots of law, walking/yard until rain hits, home abs, gym, Mass, and work tonight to make up for time away from 'puter doing yard/walking. love, light, blessings, and good health, janet
