Happy Saturday Morning.
Well, a good time was had by all last night. The Birthday girl was blown away by everything we did. A lot of work though. A good thing about a party is that you have motivation to totally clean the house and yard. We had drinks outside but ate inside the patio room as the weather isn't really warm in the evening yet. Leftovers packed and ready to take to Pal in North County today.
Janet: Frugal Fat Farm through June. I need you to keep at it as I start on Monday. Treat yourself like you're someone you love is going to be my Mantra. It is hard to eat right when you're eating out. Maybe just plan to maintain while you go? You got this.
Carol: Your tap dance class sounds like fun and challenging! Hope you enjoyed your bike ride.
Hi to Sally and Nat!!!
May we be happy. May we be healthy. May we live in peace.

Good Saturday Morning, positive peeps π£π£!
Jan - So glad you enjoyed your gathering! And nice to pack up (and move out!) the leftovers.
Janet - You should definitely plan on a reward for your efforts. Some interesting take on the $790....or even a fraction of it! I wish I could come to visit your budget fat farm! I sure could use your inspiration for weight training!
I am acknowledging my progress on strength, i.e. I do my morning 2-3 minute abs and 100 knee extensions, twice weekly Circuit training zooms. However, I am not progressing at all on weights. I have been using light wts, 2 lb and 3 lb, for the strength segments of the circuit class. At this rate, I think I am getting a little "toning" but not the real progress in strength I want for my chosen daily activities (cello playing, dancing, hiking/stair climbing, etc.) I know I need to keep doing more frequent short sessions of the actual activities for part of it. I also know it would be easier on my knees if I could strengthen my quads. And apparently some fast tap steps depend on motion initiated at the hip! who knew? My cello bowing could benefit from strengthening my back/shoulder/triceps. Summer clothes surely would look better if I firmed up those triceps, too, although I know its really tough to do anything about the "batwings," LOL! Maybe I should schedule a session with a physical therapist to help with some of this. Or with a trainer who specializes in older adults.
Yes I DID: --thoroughly enjoy our first bike ride of the year! (And sweetie was grateful I gently suggested we make our first outing a little shorter ride than he initially planned...10 miles instead of 16, LOL!) --sleep well! We opted to turn in earlier & save a TV episode for another day --two WW zooms today, wt is holding steady
Yes I CAN: --get outside for a nice gentle walk today...beautiful weather continues
Be well! Carol

Good Morning! Love, light, blessings, and good health.
Jan I am so glad that the birthday celebration turned out well. Yes, having guests is a good incentive to clean. A friend stopped by yesterday and I cleaned my kitchen. I am totally excited about you joining FFF (frugal fat farm) on Monday.
Carol I love hearing about your workouts. I used a personal trainer and I think she helped me a lot. I was devastated when she left the state and got married. I have not found a new one but try to follow her suggestions. She still accepts/returns my text messages and helps me some remotely. I do a weight training class twice a week at the rec ctr. I use ten pound weights for most exercises and five pound weights for the others. I try to hit every body part at least once a week at my other gym, and I do my home circuit. My home circuit is 3 3 minute sessions with a weighted hula hoop, push ups, sit ups, a plank, weights, and other abs for about 15-20 minutes. Quitting that workout last February (after I got burned out on home workouts during our ice storm) probably did the most damage to my waistline. About that time our rec pool closed for repairs which also hurt. I have a shoulder injury and use very light weights for any exercise that uses my shoulder but everything else I go a little heavier. I do a lot of walking and most of it nice and gentle.
Yes I did: home workout (as discussed with Carol), weights (arms), three hour umbrella walk. Mass. Law. I worked last night so I could get in my home workout and walk. Iffy weather continues. I also took a huge load to Goodwill and some other errands. I did get on the scale and am at the high end of my WW grace period. Rec ctr pool is still being repaired but at least I see activity there rather than it just sitting abandoned waiting for work to be done . . . Yes I can: home workout, umbrella walk. Slow down when eating and watch portion sizes on zero point food. I noticed since I am eating alone again that I am gobbling -- not savoring. I can change that starting this morning. Staying OP is no longer an issue but eating fast/portion size is. I did get into a dress for Mass that I hadn't worn in years but it will look much better once I drop some more weight.
I am doing my prep work for my trip home. Flooding in Missouri, might have to delay it some. I talked to Dad again about how we will not be going out for Mexican food. (he does not want to get his "to go"). I explained that I have a big investment in my lawyer clothes and do not want to replace them. Of course, he said I look fine but hopefully all this prep work will help me at least maintain while I am there. And yes, just maintaining would be a huge victory on the road. I think Mom now understands that I will eat what I want me to eat not what she thinks I should eat, more groundwork needs to be laid with Dad.
Okay, now to start by eating breakfast slowly/chores . . . love, light, blessings, and good health, janet

Happy Sunday Afternoon. We had a very light rain this morning which was a pleasant surprise. It is cleared up now and I am headed out to clean up my potting bench. The friend, and neighbor we gave the party for had me feed her chickens yesterday and today while she visits her daughter in L.A. I am really glad I don't have chickens. They are super messy. Janet: Yes, I am ready for my FFF tomorrow and another friend is doing it with me too. My plan: Eat off pretty dishes preferably at a table. Focus mainly on protein and veggies. Give my skin care regime a bigger priority. And yes, weigh in daily. Maybe I will trade pool time at my neighbor's house for "chicken duty" in June when she goes to Brazil for a week? She says come anytime but you know you don't want to intrude on their couple's time. And don't take this the wrong way Janet, but having no living parents gives me a different perspective, i think you should go out to dinner with your folks if they want to go. Since you don't live close, it's not something you have to do every week, and maybe someday you will treasure those times you spent with Dad at his favorite Mexican restaurant. The oldsters are not around forever, treasure them like a gift. Carol: I so admire you and Janet with all your weight training. It's something I need to get back to. You both keep yourself young with new dance steps, music, a good social network, and more. Hat's off to you! Always growing is something I aspire to. Nat: Hope you're enjoying a lovely weekend off. Sally: Looking forward to June. Surrounding you all with a hug. Jan
