I don't agree with people who are just now going out and filling up bunches of extra gas cans. I don't have a problem with people keeping extra gas but now isn't the time to do that. But I do think it's wise to keep the car filled up and to stock up on a few perishables. I picked up extra milk, eggs and bread. It won't go to waste! My neighbor Judy is in Florida on vacation with her 2 sisters and I worry about them getting home. I don't think they are coming back till the weekend so hopefully things will be better by then.

Hi girls. We are following the gas mess too. So far it's not a problem here but will certainly fill up at each chance when we start our road trip. Got some of my plants in pots and now just hope we don't get another freeze, there's a warning tonight, but mostly north of us. I sent a message to the car dealer today, and an e mail, didn't hear a peep. Been bringing up all the camping gear and seeing what we have, we'll just start organizing it in the car in the next day to see how everything will fit and accept that we're driving the Toyota. No big news, have had a good day. Jan

Hi Everyone!
TWO PAGES! I'm not sure I can keep up! But it is wonderful!
It rained, it rained, it rained with thunder and lightening...and not a gentle rain...down pours. Noticed the bunny was in the planters that hold the bird feeders this morning, munching away and this evening the bunny is near the sweet potato vines munching away.
So I wasn't inspired today. My hands were evil and I should have walked more but the house was getting boring or rather seeing too many projects that I just didn't want to deal with at all. I had more floaters than normal in my eyes which also weren't inspiring.
Murphy, I don't think it is your cleaning....if you have the heat or A/C on, stuff blows through. I try not to go barefoot but it is not going to happen...unless my feet are achy. I will go into the garage barefoot....a very bad idea cuz there are usually metal shavings or other non nice stuff on the ground. Take a pair of socks and clean the floor that way. Yup, not letting my gas tank get below half. I'm trying to organize my outings so I don't waste gas. None of our cars are gas friendly.
Jan, all the treats sound wonderful! Hope you found all your camping equipment and found a color you like for your basement. There are so many new gadgets on the new cars. I know paddle shifters aren't new but I hated them on a car I rented. Understand the "anger/frustration" directed towards our golden years. Yay for planting and fingers crossed for no frost!
Amy, loved the TOTD...the list is shorter for where it doesn't hurt...like my ears aren't hurting today. Glad that you were able to badge into the pool area. Do you think you will use it frequently? Aargh about your medical records being transferred. Very frustrating! Sounds you had fun plant shopping! Hope you began to feel better after getting your meds into you. I have actually used jejune! I just like the sound of the word. One word I dislike is unctuous because TV chefs use it incorrectly. Yes my life is boring.
GG, that is so wonderful that there is a tape of DS interviewing his grandpa on his WWII experiences. So precious to have so many tapes. I had our tapes put on DVDs several years ago...more than five... but haven't watched them. When DH reassured you about the hip surgery, my first thought was when you go back to Florida you will want to walk the beach and experience no pain.
Cathy, so wonderful to be able to find new items to wear! When you get back with your friends they are not going to recognize you! Is there any determination as to how long the rationing will last?
Liz, love the photos you have been posting! Hope to see you post here soon!
Carole, how are things going?
Hoping the rain stops and being inspired returns in the morning.
Hugs to all, Cindy

MURPHY: What kind of floors do you have? If windows are open or people wear shoes in your house it may be impossible to have clean floors...clean enough that there is no dirt at all. I wonder if the flooring is giving off color...can it do that?
JAN: It sound nippy at night...how will you plants fare while you are gone? I hope the "new" car gets sorted sooner than later.
AMY: Your day sounds busy. It is always a pain in the patoot to have unexpected expenses (like the tires). I hope the information for the insurance is in on time so the process doesn't have to be started from scratch again!
GG: How marvelous to have old movies of family to look through! We never did have a movie camera when I was young or when my children were young.
CINDY: Not sure about the rationing. The government doesn't have money to pay for some of the fuel it needs (I think), the people in the government still don't really have a functioning cabinet but instead a caretaker one till a new one can be formed AND the president and designated prime minister cannot get alone or agree so...that is a problem. There have been subsidies for many of the food items, gasoline, and other things that are being threatened to be stopped due to the lack of money...and the list goes on. I think things will get worse before they get better. We are lucky because of the land, the garden and having children who can send money from outside as "fresh" dollars if we need assistance. The people that are really feeling the pinch are the ones paid in local currency that have seen the value of their money depreciate. What used to be the equivalent of 300 US dollars is now worth 30 dollars or less...if they still have a job. The military are getting about that, I think. I am so thankful our children are NOT here in Lebanon!
