This thread is for all of us who have been on the weight loss merry-go-round quite a few times. We have banded together to make this our FINAL time. We offer support & motivation, WEIGHT LOSS TIPS, food ideas – whatever you need to make it your FINAL time. If you start the day’s thread, please copy and paste this paragraph, with the following 2021 Goals:
Carole: 1.) Journal Daily, thoughts, feelings, ideas 2.) Track daily, Good, Bad, Ugly, HONESTLY 3.) Move every day, 10-30 minutes, as able 4.) Limit/Reduce Alcohol, All of it! 5.) Be thankful for something - every day.
Gabrielle: 1. Wellness--take steps each day to address better wellness (moving, attention to my eating, getting sleep, etc.) 2. Debt-- continue to take steps to eliminate debt (including the kids college debt that we are covering) so that I have no debt when I retire. 3. Connectedness-- each month have a plan to stay connected to those who I care about (maybe dinner once/month after COVID, Zoom, phone calls, etc.) 4. Creativity -- seek out projects that keep me using the creative side of my brain (knitting, paint parties?, etc.) 5. Journaling/Self-Awareness--find a way to journal my thoughts and to think through challenges and opportunities
Sue: 1. Get moving - plan to utilize my Cubii 3-5 times per week at least 2. Moderation - limiting junk, snacks, wine and all things I know that sabotage my success 3. Daily Gratitude - continue our November daily gratitude. 4. Start a journal - my "Life & Apples" journal will arrive later in the week. 5. Be more "present" - in life, in my journey, with family & friends, in all aspects of my world.
Jenny 1) I'm moving to a clean eating plan like more veggie dishes and less red meat 2) I pulled out my Bob Harper from the Biggest Loser's " Yoga for weight loss DVD" and do that in the evening since it's pouring down rain here. 3) Cut way back on the wine at nights, they sell those tiny little bottles that have 5oz in them and limit myself to only 1-2 per day, that can work right? 4) Track everything even if I'm in the negatives and hold myself accountable
Christine: 1. Cardio exercise daily (walk, stationary bike) 2. FOLLOW the WW Plan using Honesty. 3. Daily gratitude - Say something NICE each morning
Karen: 1. Take one step at a time and be kind to myself. 2. Move by getting my kayak on the water at least one day per week... it will be more as the weather warms. 3. Stick to my intermittent fasting schedule. 4. Try to sleep reasonably.
Shelly: 1. Be more organized at work. Never leave with stuff on my desk 2. Be there for people when they need someone to lean on 3. Stick with WW plan!!! No matter what!!!! 4. Be a better influence on those around me.

WORK IT WEDNESDAY ~ What will we do to WORK IT today??
I will continue to MOVE as often and as much as I can - as well as monitor my eating, and drink more liquids! I slacked on liquids yesterday, and I had a snack, not measured/weighed, so today that will not happen! My eating needs more "monitoring", meaning MEASURING, not just eating out of the box!
Tracking Tuesday went well, except for the crackers out of the box... can't track, what ya' don't measure or count!
I slept OK last night, but didn't want to get up this morning. It's a vicious circle, take something to sleep but it leaves me feeling tired in the morning! More fresh air and exercise today, might help - we'll see.!

Gabrielle: I hope your run went well, and your knee did well for you. Woo hoo for your list making - working for you! I love to see things "crossed off" as I go through the day. YAY for tracking too. Did you track Tuesday also??
My visit with Jasmina was good. I do feel somewhat better after talking with her. She gave me a few things to "look for" this week, we meet again on the 26th!
Jenny: NICE WEATHER coming your way!! ☼ Glad MD was a good day for you. Oh I hope you get something out of the book you are reading - please share what you learn!
Maybe our Christine has an answer for your leg cramps - she had those too - if I remember correctly. For some reason I think Magnesium should help that, but I may be dreaming!
Oh I agree, a 4 day work week would be awesome! Yup, money isn't everything - ya' need to find the balance. Earn enough to be happy, but not so much you can't enjoy it!
LOL Yes, I guess I did do OK Sunday. I enjoyed a little of everything I wanted, but didn't go back for 2nds. I was still "full" from breakfast so at dinner time, I didn't need much! Sorry you are in fire season already, yes, wish I could share the rain with you too!
Karen: Remember self-care ♥
Sue: I hope you slept well again last night.

Will see you all after work. Didn't get to start us off today...was getting a roast ready and prepped for the crockpot so we have something to eat for supper! LOL!! Gotta love the empty fridge after being away....love to have everything cleaned out but need to be very creative for food!

Good morning!
Ahhh...Wednesday! I have a haircut tonight so I am happy about that...and he now is in a shop much closer to home so that is even better. The days have been busy but good, the lists are really helping (remind me of that, okay? LOL). I had a good run yesterday--I think that it actually loosened up my knee and it felt better. Still feel it a little bit today, but definitely on the mend. I thought about trying to run today, but decided to give it a rest--I have a very long run on Saturday and it will make up for it. Hoping to get a text soon from a friend whose DIL is in labor---I am pretty sure that the baby was born overnight---waiting to hear though--so exciting for them!
Carole: Thanks for starting us off today! I am the same way with crackers...need to put them in a little bowl or something to see what I am eating. Of all the foods that I eat, that one is the one that I need the most self-discipline with! Good job though on your day and keeping track of things---yes, I tracked again! I am not doing as well with my macros as I would like (should have more protein) but I am kind of experimenting to see if I was overly aggressive in terms of thinking how much protein I need. We'll see. Tonight DH will need to do his own dinner since I'll be home a little later after my haircut. It is all good --- he won't starve, LOL. So glad to hear that Jasmina is working out to be a good resource! By the way, where is she located? Just wondering if you wanted to meet in person--maybe she is a ways away and it will stay virtual? Whatever, I am just happy for you!! Hope that you have another good day!
Jenny: Yay for your 4-day workweek and the Wednesday off option sounds great! You are right...you have worked a long time and deserve it! I think that a 4-day work week would be perfect. Your weather sounds very similar to ours (ours might be a little warmer) and I am finding that I need to water more too. Since we are officially in a drought, we are being very careful with the watering though. Carole is right, Christine did start taking magnesium (I take it too for muscle aches that can be caused by my synthroid). I do think that she said that she hasn't had them for a while---I think she was taking glucosamine too maybe? She can tell you!! LOL . Uggh, night time leg cramps are no fun! The magnesium that I take is actually chelated Magnesium and I order it from Amazon. Here is the link if you are interested. Looking forward to hearing how you like that book on habits---Oh, I miss my WW workshops! Hope that you have a good day!

Sue: So glad that you are getting good sleep. I am not surprised that David, etc were checking in with you. I am sure that they wanted the "low down" on how your DM was doing and how your trip was. I would love to hear if you got to see some of the sites around San Antonio. Hope that you have a good day today.
Karen: Hoping that Emily is doing well--and that the days are passing quickly for her.
Well, I am going to get moveing and get into work early --- it is nice and calm then. Hope that you all have a good day and find a way to work it!

Evening all....roast is done, gravy is made, ate my dinner, had my shower, now time to catch up a bit....don't remember much about what I read last night but a few things stick in my head!!
Gabrielle...hope the knee is better!
Carole...sounds like you navigated the Mother's Day "all day brunch" pretty well! Glad Jaclyn is starting to notice Eden's behavior as well.
Karen...hope Emily & Miss Eleanor continue to do well and make it to 34 weeks. Emily is in the right place and glad you and Tony can help James as needed.
Jenny....enjoy those 4 day weeks and the days of yard work!
Shelly...glad you got some time with your folks and DS on Mother's Day.
Christine...glad the contract reports are winding down...sorry DL and the Prince are in "snipe mode" again....they are never happy and I think they are jealous of the praise other colleagues are sending your way!! LOL!!
Quick trip update....travel gods were with us....both flights on time and uneventful. Did enjoy the A-List and getting off the plane quickly with the earlier boarding and getting to sit in the front. Went to lunch when Annie picked us up then to see DM...while she "looks" better than the last time we saw her before she went to TX, she had declined greatly in many ways....she has dementia and is getting nasty and belligerent. She is not taking meds when she should and it's just a circus for Jim and Annie...she's always accusing them of "shorting her" on her opioids, which they are not but she is taking them too close at times so runs out. She doesn't grasp that there is only a set amount for the month and Jim can not get them until the last dose is due. She is not walking enough and mix all of this together and her health issues are not being treated as they should be....unfortunately since she is in "independent" living, she takes her own meds and does not take them when she should.
I told both Jim & Annie that she truly needs to be in an assisted living/nursing facility where they are in control of her meds. They don't want to do that because they want her to keep her independence as long as she can but their denial to face the truth is going to drive them nuts and ma will continue to decline. I think they "know" in their heads but just want to keep trying...more power to them.
No...did not do any sight seeing...but that's OK....their house is up and active by 6:00am and lights out between 8:00-9:00pm....odd but we "went with the flow"!! LOL!! I will say, my niece and nephew are the most immature, mal-adjusted kids I have ever met. Michael will be 16 in October, Rachel is 19 today and they were playing with action figures on Friday and Michael wore a holster and gun around 2 days while there??? WOW, that's all I got!! They are so socially backwards and sheltered it's scary. Annie tells them when it's time to get ready for bed and to go brush their teeth....YIKES!!
On Saturday, Mom got to FaceTime with both girls at the same time in a split screen and chat with the boys. I was also able to use Messenger and get a video chat with her youngest sister, one of the twins. Auntie June was so funny and I think she loved it just as much as Ma. On Mother's Day we FaceTimed with David's gang and I used the Messenger to video chat with Kris who is a mess....I honestly think she is using again but not sure. Anyway, yesterday I got a call from Kris and apparently she broke her fibula and has an appointment with the surgeon tomorrow. The ER gave her Oxycodone and SHE TOOK IT!!! Are you kidding me??? Supposedly a recovering prescription drug abuser and alcoholic and she takes the thing that threw her into the toilet!!! I just don't get it, but not my circus!!
Saw DM one last time on Monday morning before we left...again, she accused Annie of "shorting" her on her pain meds! She told me that she was so thankful I came to spend Mother's Day and to make it possible to see/talk to her family. I'm glad she was excited and able to do that for her....
All in all, the visit was not to bad....a bit judgmental in many ways from the "christians" and I use that term lightly....they are a bit self-righteous most of the time! LOL! We survived and even when DM is gone, I do need to be the bigger person and make an effort to at least get to TX every year or two for a long weekend....I can handle it!!

Now...back to work, not too bad, a bit of catching up to do but all in all I'm in pretty good shape.
Tonya, Gloria and Scott had their 2nd vaccines yesterday....OMG, Tonya is a DRAMA QUEEN! Honestly, she claimed chills but had her fan on all day....she claimed SEVERE body aches but moved and acted normal UNLESS someone new came in the office or someone called, then she got that pathetic forlorn voice and had to tell everyone she had her vaccine and was just "toughing it out"!! Gloria on the other hand said...."I hurt, had chills, have a headache but it's not that bad....will be glad when the day is over but no biggie"!! Scott is 2nd shift and got his before he came to work yesterday....made it through his shift and his symptoms were the worst over night...today he's still a little achy and dull headache but surprisingly he was NOT the whiner I expected. Tonya was ridiculous....she claims her arm with be sore until Memorial day because...that always happens...I better not have to hear that for the next 2+ weeks! UGH!!
Carole...thanks for starting us off the last few days....sounds like you are "back on track" today with water, food, measuring, etc...good for you!! Sometimes, we go "off the rails" with holidays but I know you will be back on track in no time! Glad your visit with Jasmina was a good one. Glad she gave you some "home work" before your next visit on the 26th!! Yes, I have slept well the last couple nights...I did miss our bed! Rachel's bed is only a full size and we are used to a queen and hers is bouncy...our Tempurpedic is NOT!! Got an 89 from FitBit last night and slept 7 1/2 hours since I fell asleep so early.
Gabrielle...enjoy your haircut tonight....glad he is closer to you too! That's a bonus!! YAY for the lists helping...I have always been a list person!! Glad the run seemed to loosen up the knee...hope it stays that way...knees are nothing to mess with!! I speak from experience! LOL...yes, David and Katie wanted the "low down" to know what they would be coming into when they visit the end of June. We have all been able to tell with phone calls that the confusion was getting worse but the nasty/belligerent behavior is new. Honestly, I think until DM is gone, any TX visit will NOT include sight-seeing...I think it will be consumed with visits with mom and that's OK for now!
OK...will admit....fading and need to tackle the kitchen before I sit down!
Waves to all I missed...sorry personals are slim! See you all tomorrow!
