Kathy, it would be great for DN to have more in-person contact in his new job. Are they still giving tours at the VAB? I think I heard they stopped that a few years ago but I don't know if it was a temporary or permanent stoppage. Did the Bionic Man have a closed set of any kind? I would have thought all those tourists would have affected the production. So, as a staffer, that could have given you an advantage. Guess not. Does FL have problems with tire failure due to heat like Linda mentioned in AZ? When I bought the car, I tried to get them to trade out the Goodyears it came with for a set of higher mileage Michelins and it was a no-go. The dealership gave me an update on tread depth and tire condition every time I took it for service, but the Goodyears were only 45K mile tires to begin with, so my car started to bug me when it got to that point. But I was able to turn off the annoying notification. Who is bugging you about replacing yours?
How is Bob feeling today, Linda? How often do you have to get new tires with the way the heat affects them? Is your Discount Tire a national chain? I came close to buying from the one in Knoxville, but I went with the local company instead. I hope that was the right move. I hadn't thought about cowboys in AZ and didn't realize the Goldwaters were cattle ranchers. Interesting....
Chele, the dogs were barking up a storm but have calmed down. Funny you should use that specific analogy because I was thinking it as I was posting yesterday. I had a tough time getting to sleep last night because of related leg pain. I'm just a bit tired today, but that may be weather related. Did your plants arrive? Is the weather conducive to them being planted? Fingers crossed that the critters and your feathered friends will leave most of them alone. Are you planning to use any barriers or other deterrents? So you should have your new glasses next week? Is your tire place a local one? We have other local tire places but where I went is the only one that carries Michelins. It's also the only local place that does 4-wheel alignments, so I guess it's good that I went there. It was nice to have the extra workout time, but I really didn't enjoy going to the outlet mall. When I get a chance to go back to TJ Maxx, I guess I'll see if I still enjoy shopping there.
Will you start going back to HEB now that they seem to be back to full service again, Becky? Great news that your DN is finally getting a little recovery time. She deserves it. Your gas is cheaper than ours. We used to have the cheapest gas tax in the country, but now we're about the middle of the pack. I paid $2.69 yesterday before Noon, so I'm anxious to see how much it's gone up by the time I'm out tomorrow. They have gas shortages in NC and it seems related to hoarding. Like someone on FB posted--gasoline is the TP of 2021.
Denise, good to have you back. I know OT is great on payday, but sometimes it can be draining. It's good that you're ready to plant at the end of the month. What are you growing this year? I don't blame you for delaying. We are getting down into the mid 40s tonight. They call it "blackberry winter" because the blackberries are flowering right now. Or at least the wild ones are. Our domesticated ones aren't so far. Hopefully soon.
What's Zoe's status, Liz? Are things starting to return to normal in the city?
We had rain to start the day and got about 1/3". Now it's just cloudy and in the mid 50s. Only supposed to be in the 60s for the high tomorrow, so quite a bit below normal. My major accomplishment for the day so far has been getting the Kindle app set up on my tablet so I can read on the plane during my upcoming trip and if DB has Fox News on 🙄. I'm not surprised at what happened to Liz Cheney, but am very disappointed. NYT had a good article from Thomas Friedman about how the current GOP is attempting to lock in minority rule and how dangerous it could be for the entire world if they succeed. Very scary stuff. I'm so tired of politics right now. It's such a mess! Osteo tomorrow and won't have to stop at the greenhouse on the way home anymore because we sold all the plants. I do have to stop for groceries on the way home because that didn't get done yesterday.

Karen, Staged is on Hulu. I think they stopped most of the tours through the VAB too. It's a huge open bay once you're in there and I think the tourists were further away than we were. They probably weren't recording sound on those scenes where Majors was up on the rocket. We don't have nearly as extreme heat as Linda, but it depends on your usage and storage of the car. It's quite a bit cooler in my garage than the outside temps and I've only been driving a few miles on slower back roads lately. It was just the guy at the service place that said I should think about replacing them in a year or so, but he said they were in good condition. I don't know if my car has a reminder since I'm nowhere near the mileage limit for them. Are the gas stations running out of gas there? DeSantis declared a state of emergency, but it's just to allow truckers carry heavier loads and to stop price gauging. I thought we had the price gouging protection anyway, but I guess that's just after hurricanes. We get 90% of our gas via barges at the ports, but we're getting lines at some places anyway. On the politics, my fear is that the state legislatures will step in next time to overrule the vote counts if they don't like the outcome. It is a mess and very disappointing to see Cheney ousted just for telling the truth. Chele, our plunge to the 80s is on its way! It was stormy this afternoon. DN is eager to go in to the Space Center and I agree it will be better for him to be able to actually meet people and build a network. I worked a lot from home my last few years, but by then I wasn't worried about future jobs or networking. Ugh on that forecast you put up yesterday. I don't want to hear about lots of hurricanes for the SE.
Hope everyone has a good evening.

Thanks for the start Karen. We never stopped going to HEB. We go there on Monday, Wednesday and Friday and only go to Walmart for things HEB doesn't carry. Yesterday gas was $2.49 and this morning it was $2.59. It's the second time in a week it has jumped 10 cents at a time. I think Liz Cheney deserved what happened to her. If she and Mitt Romney are going to vote with the Dems they just need to change parties. She said she would do everything in her power to keep Trump out of office in 2024. That sounds like a threat to me. When do you leave on your trip?LOL on having your tablet in case your DB has Fox News on. If he is a Republican more than likely he will have it on.
Kathy Our high today was only 70. The wind was so strong when I walked out this morning and it was 60 degrees and I asked Kenneth what happened to May?
Linda I am a conservative but for the life of me I can't understand why people are still investigating the last election. It's over. Biden has been in office over 100 days and even though I agree with very little he says people just need to forget it and move on.That is too hot for me this time of year.
