Hi friends! I just got done bike riding, it’s beautiful out, just a bit chilly. Tyler’s team is doing well, they’re in the championship game—they will be heading to IN or Nebraska for regionals. I don’t really want to go since he’s not playing (this is me throwing a temper tantrum!) but it might not happen next year and I feel like we should support Ty (although I don’t think he cares if we go or not) Since I’ve stopped the anti inflammatory med my back has been sore in the am. Today it lasted all day. Broke down and called the dr, going in to see him the 25th. Like you all said, it’s so frustrating when you’re trying to take care of yourself but your body doesn’t want to help. I’m sitting in my car, in the forest preserve—I think it’s because I don’t want to go home because DH is ALWAYS there. Maybe I’ll stop by wal mart. My friends mom died yesterday, maybe I’ll get a gift card to their favorite Mexican place for dinner—one of their kids can pick it up. Sorry for lack of personals. Have a great night! Jan—where did you trade your cameras in?

Well I had typed a nice newsy post and it evaporated as the board said it couldn't upload. Mainly just ate too much short ribs and mashed potatoes for dinner but AF and feeling better after taking more drugs...thanks Amy for your input. I'll do personals tomorrow. Carole, I traded my camera gear in at a local store, Casino Camera.
Have a great evening all.

Hi everyone, I have been sick since Sunday night and basically in and out of bed. I’m self-medicating with Advil Cold & Sinus and Tylenol. Started with sore throat which was from post nasal drip, then went to sinus congestion and headache. I have a slight cough, but it is mostly sinuses and headache. It’s 4:00 in the morning and I just took two more Advil hoping the dull headache goes away. I might give a call to my dr today and hope and see what he recommends. One thing I always do when I feel awful is eat! Is it feed a cold or feed a fever? I am hoping that it’s just a sinus thing and not Covid. I have heard that even though one is fully vaccinated, one could still contract it, although pretty rare.
Once I am feeling better I’ll be posting regularly again.

CARING CHALLENGE: I will use ✔️ or ❔❔ or ❌ * Track on ITB ✔️ * Stay positive ✔️ * Work on increasing * activity - ✔️ * strength - ✔️ * flexibility - ✔️ Labor of Loving yourself first! April 5 - July 4 April 5 start weight: 168.2 April 12: 167.8 April 19: 166.6 April 26: 166.8 May2: 166.8 May 9: 166.6 May 16: May 23: May 31: June 6: June 13: June 20: June 27 July 4:
165.2 this morning
Seems the plateau may be breaking up and I will be dropping a bit more now. I had a slight drop yesterday (to a new low) and again today to a new low. I am down 50 pounds from my highest all-time weight and in the past year am now down 38.2 pounds. 23.2% (50#) or 18.8%(38.2#) body weight lost. So...onward and downward!
MURPHY: How nice to have so many opportunities to volunteer and be active now that you are retired. Sorry you were feeling sad. I used to love peanut butter pie...with chocolate
JAN: It is crazy everywhere, I think! The youngest of our group is getting her first vaccination mid-June and I get my second the first of June. My guess is that we can start our get togethers once again once the last one has had her second vaccination and since they were saying five weeks...then two after that...It is probably not going to be till August sometime that we can get together for cards and a meal? I hate posts poofing!
AMY: It sounds like the gasoline situation there is not much better than it is here...at least at the moment. I am luckier than many here in Lebanon because I am retired, don't have to go to work, don't have children to feed, and we have food from the garden we can eat. I also figure that there is no reason to fuss and stew if there is nothing I can do to change things. We have rolled with the punches during the Gulf War and other times in life so...will do so again if we need to. I hope the medical/insurance stuff gets sorted.
GG: Hooray for the scale dropping. We did not raise our children fully in the USA. I married and moved to Lebanon in 1978. Children were born in 79 and 81. There was an evacuation in 1984 (and some tense times before that). We stayed in California for awhile then moved for a year to Virginia for about a year and then moved to Jordan for a year, back to the USA for 6 months then on to Saudi Arabia for five and a half years (Gulf War there) and then to Lebanon in 1994. Been here ever since. My children had less than two years in the USA in school with the rest in international schools overseas. They went back for college.
CAROL: Hope you can figure out the back pain, whether or not to go to the game Ty may not play in, etc. Sorry going home is not a fun thing sometimes.
LIZ: If you are eating (and able to smell the food you are eating) my guess is that it is not Covid-19. I think taste and smell disappear with that bug! Hope you feel better soon!
