Thanks for our start, June. I have no appointments or errands but it will be hot so walks will be early, probably before and after breakfast. Iβm trying to finish the book Iβve been reading and will try to get rid of stuff on my desk, Bob is grilling pork tenderloin, shishito peppers and asparagus for dinner. Have a good day.

I will continue to KOKO. There is not supposed to be any rain for the next 2 days so if it's not too windy I will walk in the morning. If it is I will wait until afternoon to walk outside and walk inside in the morning like I did today. We may run a couple of errands but nothing pressing.
Sleep well all.

Itβs nice to have no pressing errands. I am reading The Four Winds by Kristin Hannah. It begins in Texas and itβs about the dustbowl era.The main character and her family end up going west to California and actually end up in the San Joaquin Valley where I live. The story itself is somewhat depressing when you realize how hard it was for those people who left their homes in Oklahoma Texas and other areas. My favorite book of that era is Grapes of Wrath by John Steinbeck. It also makes me realize how silly we are when we worry about an item not available at the grocery store. It is hard to imagine people surviving during that period.

I finished that a few weeks ago.
Yes, we do do some carrying on.
Loved The Grapes of Wrath.

Cathy, I forgot to answer your question about the swarming termites. They are swarming Formosian termites.
Found this ---
On just the second day of May, homeowners in south Louisiana are already reporting swarms of Formosan subterranean termites.
The winged insects, called alates at this stage, typically swarm to mate and reproduce during early May.
And while this year's increasingly balmy spring temperatures may have spurred a few early swarms, experts say that's nothing out of the ordinary.
The largest swarms typically take place in the first two weeks of May, and major swarms can recur every eight to 10 days until the season ends, usually in mid- to late June, Dennis Ring, an entomologist with the LSU AgCenter, told The Advocate last year.
Before they get here, we have swarms of lovebugs. They overstayed their welcome. They will be back in September.
And of course, late May or June 1st begins the season for hurricane swarms.
Then we have the ladybug swarms. Just cannot remember exactly when they show up. They haven't been to bad in the last couple of years.
So, just know that after late May something is always swarming near me, until cold weather hits.

Good morning
Ann Loving Benjamin's new knickname, "Mr. meet n' Greet," So nice that he is making you snd your neighbors smile.
Audrey Nice to see a worthwhile organization continuing through family connections. Enjoy your morning walk.
On June 2nd, our gov. Is lifting almost every pandemic guidance, except for NH and asst. living. However, schools & businesses will be able to make their own policies. To spur vaccination efforts he has initiated a $1 mil lottery for adults for 5 weeks plus a full Oh. Scholarship for children.
Is homeschololing an option for Leo?
Bee Will do! Hope that you were greeted by a beautiful sunrise.
Becky Glad that you can walk inside when the weather does not cooperate.
Cathy Am sorry, but I forget when your second vaccination is. Feels like is getting closer. Mj Saw a clip on the TV of Woodbridge, NJ. diring a story about the fallout of the pipeline cyber attack. Will pray for Russ and others living and working in CC complex.
LaDonna Have fingers crossed that your getaway will happen as planned. Will be nice for you andRandy. So wonderful that you could visit w/ Sylvia. I keep her in my prayers.
Susi Goodness. . . glad that you could remind the handyman to prep your garden. Will be interesting to hear what the tech solution will be.

Good morning all. Slept well and grateful. Becky, like you I have nothing pressing. It will be a day of doing a little of 'this and that'. Have fun running errands. Audrey what you are reading surely does put things in proper perspective. Bee be careful with those swarming insects.
LOL June glad you like Benjamin's new name. They used to call Luigi the Mayor and LuLa the Queen B. Perfect names for all of them Waving and will CBL

Okeydokey Yesterday was largely tied up w/ the great HP printer fiasco. It did not want to recognize the new black ink cartridge. You name it-- I did it- checked updates, uninstalled software, unplugged printer, tried 2 different new black cartridges. Finally, Left the printer unplugged for 1/2 hr, treated the black catridge as an incompatible catridge.
Thursday's goals Make the copies - success-- that I wanted to send to a dear friend. Decide if I want to look at the PC issue. Or give it a rest for today. Take a walk & enjoy a bubble bath.

I will patiently KOKO and hope I am done with the plateau...down to 165.2 this morning
I did manage to get the FBAR, Federal, and State taxes done online via Turbo Tax...and it was free. Hooray!
We had baba ganouj and hummus with some leftover green fava beans from the pod (in garlic-lemon-olive oil) and also had fresh garbanzo beans to eat from the pods as well as loquats. I am not sure what dinner will be but...there is plenty of healthy food to choose from.
ANN: How nice that Benjamin is your alarm clock! Also nice Carl is up to let him out! The blueberry pancakes sound yummy...don't make them for hubby and I very often. Benjamin must feel like the king of the walk and rather special with all the neighbors greeting and treating him! How old is Benjamin? I want to think he is ten but is that right?
MJ: Hooray for and easy trip to exchange the bracelet. The picnic lunch on the return sounds fun! How are the YM doing with their covid-19 avoidance? It sounds like Russ's AL place can't get a break with the new covid-19 cases.
JUNE: Maybe it was your mental nudge that caused the 0.8 extra to join the 0.2 of yesterday's drop to make an entire pound down! Keep nudging! My second vaccination is June 1...wish it was sooner! Hope you got to the bottom of the Blackboard issues. How nice to have two chats with good friends! I think it would be scary to have all Covid-19 restrictions lifted since there are still variants out there! What a hassle with the printer!
SUSI: What a hassle the payroll glitch sounds to be. I hope tech will get it sorted sooner than later!
AUDREY: I hope that Leo and the whole class does a mass exodus (if they can) to get the teacher retired! I am trying to remember if I have ever read Kristin Higgins...I think I may have? Hmm....
LADONNA: I am glad that you were able to catch up with Sylvia and her husband and that the meal went well. I hope she can get into the clinical trials and that they help. Hope the trip you are planning doesn't have to be rescheduled due to the gasoline situation. I am glad YOU have had your vaccinations so YOU are safe - even if those in your office have chosen to take their chances.
BECKY: How frustrating to have the board go down while you were writing personals! Hope your walk is in nice weather!
BEE: Thank you for the information on the termites and other critters...fascinating!

June so sorry you are still dealing with the printer issues. Such a pain. I'm sure you'll do what's best for you...either put it off or work on it later. I'd definitely enjoy a bubble bath a cup of tea or two and a walk beforehand. Cathy congratulations on breaking through your plateau. Benjamin is 9 years old...same age as LuLa....he will be ten on Halloween which was LuLa's bday as well...they were born same day same year.
((hugs)) MJ hope it slows down for you. Then again a good busy is a good thing Coffee was extra good this morning. Our new next door neighbor is having his roof done. They started it a day or so ago and finishing up now. Benjamin is not fond of the noise...poor little guy. Once they are done he will settle back down. Waving and shall CBL

June - What a nuisance. Hope it resolves soon. Enjoy your not much day Audrey. Happy early walking. Dinner sounds good. Hi Bee Ann - Your dinner sounds good as well. At least it shouldn't take long to do the roof. Becky - Enjoy your not much day as well. Cathy - Yay on hopefully breaking the plateau! Glad you got your taxes done. Lunch sounds delicious. MJ - As long as it is a good busy, enjoy LaDonna - Glad you had a nice dinner with them last night.
The tree guys did a good job but did not smooth out the garden. He said they did but then it didn't look like they had done it at all so they retilled it and left the hills. The dirt is so fine, it took me less than 5 minutes to rake. And even though I hadn't asked, he took out a tree stump next to the garden that has been bugging me for years! I'm also getting all new tomato cages this year. After 20 years, the others finally gave out. Surprisingly, I got some of my most productive plants from the Walmart garden center, so I may check that out on Saturday between my WW workshop and spin. Then on Sunday I will see what they have up in north Jersey at the farm next to my cousin's. I've checked the long range forecast and the nights should remain warm enough to plant now.
