WELCOME TO REGULAR & NEW POSTERS! This thread is full of encouragement & suggestions. New people, welcome! We encourage you to jump in. One day, one hour, one minute at a time is easier to handle than a week, etc. Lurkers, join in
Our goal is 21 days Binge Free (studies show 21 days to break old habits & start new ones!). Whether we make 21 or one, the point is to learn as we go, replace binges with other things to help us through stressful times. Some days are harder than others & we may slip; that's OK. The Binge Monster is in the shadows waiting to pounce. Hopefully this thread provides inspiration, courage, & support to become a Binge Survivor!
You may see different folks on different "Cycles." A Cycle is a 21 day block of consecutive binge-free days. Stay with us for as many cycles as you'd like.
Everyone's definition of a BINGE is different. The Oxford Dictionary defines a binge as a spree of eating and drinking. To many of us, BINGE is defined as "eating without dignity." The dictionary defines "dignity" as a calm and serious manner or style, showing suitable formality or indicating that one deserves respect. Only you can define what a binge is for you. Going over points, as long as it was done with dignity and journaled (thereforeacknowledged and "owned") isn't binging--it is up to you to decide.
SPECIAL THANKS TO LESLIE5609 for starting this challenge on the Out of Control Board, in August '02, and thanks to all who keep it going.

1925 calories 1221 exercise calories 118g protein 29g fiber
I’m starting with a new client today and I’m a little nervous. He’s had personal trainers for a long time. He’s 60ish, only trains with women, and only hires women in his head hunting business. I find it bizarre. He met with me about a month ago to make sure we were compatible, which is smart. An hour can go on forever if your personalities clash.
Our governor announced that with the exception of nursing homes, all health orders will expire on June 2. I think this is the right thing to do. We now have an abundance of vaccines in Ohio, in fact we sent some back. Those who want the vaccine have gotten it or are able to get it. Here’s the odd thing: for 5 weeks beginning at the end of May, the state will hold a drawing. Each week a person who’s had at least one of the shots will win a million dollars. There will be 5 college scholarships for vaccinated kids as well. It seems strange to me.
Nancy, I hope everything is ok.
Meg, you’re coming very close to 100 days!!
Lori, I hope the remainder of your drive home goes smoothly. I can’t believe you’ve tracked your food the whole time!

Day 92. Another OP day. Yay!
Lori: Very impressed with how you've handled your eating on this road trip. We fly to Maryland next Thursday and I'm trying to get in the mindset for not planning or tracking but eating reasonably. I'm hoping a string of OP days before I leave will help set me up.
Jan: I read about the lottery for vaccinated people. Maybe that will convince some people to get the shot who wouldn't otherwise.
Nancy?
Later, y'all.

Hi ~ hope everyone is doing well. I'm on C59. D2. Getting in some exercise today. I'm at 590 days of yoga :-).
All five of us are vaccinate - my sons got in early because they are working at the hospital and nursing home. It is spring, farming is happening. My garden is not this year, for the first time since we bought the farm in 2018. With DH and both sons working FT (as well as me) I invested in a CSA. What a shock! 320 acre organic farm and I'm buying my produce :-O.
Hope to be back tomorrow with D3.... I'm up 20# since last June :-(

Home Sweet Home!! The drive home just seemed endless..... Feels good to be home. Now I need to get back to my regular routine. Tomorrow, I’ll be busy in the office.
Jan, hope your new client session went well. Nice about the raffle and scholarships, I just wonder where all this money is coming from and who will be paying back....
Kathy, Sounds like yoga has become part of your lifestyle which is Awesome!! Sorry about the garden but sounds like it was a wise decision with everyone working FT. We started our garden when DH retired....it does take a lot of time....
Nancy, hope all is well....

Quick check in to say I really indulged tonight, so 3 days perfectly OP was about all I could handle. But back to it tomorrow. I was really reminded how good it feels (not just physically) when my eating choices are healthy.
Kathy: a little irony with the CSA, but you do what you gotta do, right?
Lori: Glad you're home safe. It's fun to go and it's fun to come home, eh?
G'night.

Wednesday: C115D17, 21 purple points, 1286 calories, 34 grams fiber, line dancing and 20 minute solo walk, 7053 steps.
Sorry to have been MIA. Janet called - long conversation and it got too late to read messages and post stats.
Jan - So sorry about the chicken - It was beautiful. How did the new client work out? Not too creepy I hope. A lot of states are paying people in various ways to take vaccines. Crazy times. I don't know about new white foods - I don't usually have vanilla yogurt or rice pudding or vanilla pudding. I'm having more Jarsberg lite than usual, also mini bels. Today I had canned Healthy Request chicken noodle soup - I never have that though it was in the house. More premier shakes than usual. Angel hair pasta with butter (never have it), never have cauliflower - this time petit florets steamed. I like it. Lots of air popped popcorn - more often than usual. Whitefish salad, more tuna than usual. Chicken and turkey, flounder, rainbow trout - normal for us. It's been interesting and not at all difficult. Sort of like an adventure.
Lori - Great visit - controlled eating. Wonderful! The whitening is simple. Not at all messy. I don't even know the plates are on - they are a soft clear material. The gel in inserted with a syringe. Six nights so far and no side effects whatsoever - no sensitivity, no zingers, so gum soreness - all the things I've been worrying about for years until I finally gave in. Wow about the cracked bridge in Virginia. Just tonight I heard about one on a Memphis M-shaped bridge. On a routine inspection they found a huge crack, called 911, and had the bridge closed to traffic as well as the boats that go under it. Not that we need infrastructure spending. Frightening what's happening to our country. Here's something funny. I have a typed to do list. A few nights ago, hand written on the bottom was "483 50-55". It was driving me crazy. What in the heck was that? And then Meg mentioned something about HSM. Aha!! Upon realization, I listened to that part of the podcast about pre-planning.
Kathy - What's a CSA? Sorry about the 20# but I guarantee you'll reverse it in no time if you start making us a daily habit. How's about it? Also my piano lesson was today. We were talking about why someone like me sticks to it and what it means to me and stuff like that. She highly recommended a book which I just downloaded to my ipad. It's called "Playing the Piano for Pleasure: The Classic Guide to Improving Skills Through Practice and Discipline" by Charles Cooke. I've only just started it and I know I'm going to love it and be inspired by it. You can always download a Kindle sample to see if it's of interest. I think it will be.
Meg - Kudos on the LP days. Wishing you many more.
Whew! All caught up
