Welcome to the Clutter Patrol, formerly CLUTTERBUSTERS thread. We are a daily thread, Monday thru Friday, and we have a combined weekend edition Saturday and Sunday. We welcome new members and are a friendly, helpful and supportive group.
Our purpose is for support and sharing of tips and strategies in dealing with weight and clutter issues in our lives. Many feel that the two are often tied together. So, we will lend a caring ear, and hopefully give and learn tips to help all of us.
We want to remove at least 5 items or spend at least 15 minutes clutter busting today!
Remember, it didn't pile up in one day so it isn't going away in a day either. One organizer says: you don't have to stop everything to get organized, you just have to start somewhere.

Good morning,
Yesterday kinda got away from me ...
Spent quite a bit of time in the basement yesterday. Since today is trash day I decided to do some sorting and sweeping and stuff. Ended up with 2 extra bags of trash. I have empty plastic bins that I need to move into the garage to free up space. A couple of these bins will be placed in the garage for stuff that will eventually go for Amvets pickup. And I have a few bags of clothes to take to charity bins at church.
My new Ecosport arrived at the dealership yesterday evening. My finance guy is only here today until 5, he doesn’t work on Fridays, so I might not get to take her home until Saturday. I can wait, at least I know she’s here. She’s so cute ...
I’m going to make a quick run to the grocery store to pick up a case or 2 of coffee pods, oatmeal, and a few other staples. I thought I had more coffee left, this way I’ll be set for the summer. With prices of everything going up, I’m going to start looking for more budget friendly recipes and I’ll do more meal prepping on Sundays. I might look at getting a few containers and see if I can grow some veggies this year. We’ll see ... Gas hit $3 a gallon today. I’m so glad my job is just 2 miles from home. And I’m glad to be keeping the 4 hours I work on Fridays for the rest of the year. My boss actually talked with me yesterday to make sure I actually wanted those hours. I was supposed to be able to give up working Fridays in June and she was concerned. I did tell her that if I ever get tired if working the extra hours I’d let her know. For now it’s all good.
Other cashier and I were talking about going out for a couple of beers soon. TGI Fridays and Ruby Tuesday are both closed permanently, Applebee’s closes at 9 even though they can stay open as late as they want now, just can’t get any workers, that’s too early. My favorite restaurant does serve beer, and they stay open until 11 - that might be our new hangout. We’re looking into other options. There are some fun places to go to sit, drink and listen to music on weekend nights, maybe have a fun night planned in the summer. We both talk about “not having a life” anymore and we want to get back to enjoying just hanging out. Her DH agrees.
Ruth - I’m glad you’re feeling better. Enjoy time with Mara.
Martha - nice to hear vaccine went well. Your meal prepping is definitely inspiring me. There are some great websites with good ideas, I just need to do it.
Dottie - so far gas shortages aren’t affecting us, just the actual prices.
Enjoy your day, see ya tomorrow

Joyce, it wasn’t an actual gas shortage yesterday, just some people beginning to panic and the fact that several of the pumps were closed due to maintenance. Hope you can get out soon with the other cashier for a drink. There are many places that have closed near us also. Some because they can’t get enough help to run the place properly. Hopefully as the summer goes on that will change.
Martha, I’m wondering the same thing about your work that Ruth mentioned. Will you be working from home FT now? Glad to hear there weren’t any problems from the second vaccine.
Ruth, that is great that you did so well when you sold the car. We get post cards/letters in the mail often about selling our car. The car will be 4 YO in July and we only have 32K on it. I’m glad that the sofa arrived and you are happy with it. You can always change the throw pillows if you are really unhappy with them. Hopefully it is a nice day and you can get Mara outside.
We met DS on his lunch hour to drop off all of the boxes/crates that he wanted for the school. It felt good to get rid of so much. Tomorrow I take 2 big bags of paper that needs to be shredded to the senior center. Both our trash and recycling bins are full this week. We have 2 bags of left over trash that we will put in our neighbors bin. We do that quite often when one of us has extra. Hopefully DS will decide what to do with the hockey sticks soon. Does he have any other items stored at your place? We still have the skis that the boys used when they were in college. DS#2 told us to pitch them, because after all this time the bindings aren’t safe to use. Hopefully we can take care of that next week.

(((hugs))) Woke up & fell back asleep after DH went to work. Texted Boss 2 to let him know. Got up 9:45ish. Clocked in at 10:15. I don't know what it was that trigged it but the extra sleep seemed to help. I mentioned to DH that I need a head/neck massage. It's been about 15 months since I last had one. I need to check into med.ins to see about select massage people and how often I can get them. Whoever does it, is going to find a lot of rocks, knots & boulders. As for why I cleaned out desk, I haven't been into the office but 3-4 times in the last 4 months. If I do go into the office to work, I'll have to take water mug, snacks, etc. Unless I hear otherwise, I'll be working until 6/30/21. I have asked if it can be extended but haven't heard back. Back to work I go....(((hugs)))
