linda72, there's already "outrage" about some stores saying you have to show your vaccine card to go maskless in their stores. The typical "I don't have to show you anything, you can't make me!" tantrums going on. I didn't realize, until this pandemic, that the USA had so many badly behaved toddlers masquerading as adults.

I think there are lots of fake vaccination cards out there, or will be soon.

DotRen, I haven't seen anything in west Houston about showing my vaccination card. I was at Walmart yesterday and about 20% had no masks on. Everyone else, including the employees, were masked. I expect that number to reverse over the next few weeks. I haven't heard anything from HEB about wearing a mask. But, I have seen customers inside HEB without masks for the past few weeks; I think the stores are choosing to not make an issue about it. With the CDC changing the rules about masks this week, I think more people will drop their mask. I guess I'm going to need to dig out my lipstick; I haven't worn that in over a year!

I have longed for the day that we could get rid of these masks. I’m fully vaccinated. Practice CDC guidelines at all times.
That being said, we are having a return to work party on Monday it was scheduled to be outside. Yesterday afternoon they changed it to an indoor location, with food, which means people will not have masks on and I realize that I am not comfortable being around people without my mask.
No my employer does not require us to show that we have been vaccinated I know some of my coworkers have not been vaccinated. I have to attend this party. I don’t have to eat.
So I’m keeping my 😷. I’m not comfortable with it but I’m more uncomfortable without it.

I am confident going maskless outdoors. In Hawaii, where I was for 10 days, they are still very strict about masks. Everyone masked up in stores for instance. When dining out, the rule in some restaurants was mask on until liquids served. One place the rule was mask on when standing or walking. While flying, the announcement was to put mask on between bites and drinks, but no one did, and the flight attendents did not say anything, other than to remind people to put the mask back when done eating/drinking.
Here at home I will follow the rules in the various establishments. I don't forsee most places dropping the mask requirement any time soon. Also, I believe our state (Calif.) is adjusting their rules. Not sure what it will be.
DH and I were fully vaccinated on March 9 (Moderna).

My precious DGD burned her hand badly when she was a toddler. For a long time after it healed she had to have gauze on it. It became almost like a string of gauze she would walk around with hanging from her hand. It melted my heart she was afraid to expose that hand. I feel much like that with my mask now.

Photograph your vaccine card and make copies. A friend lost hers at an airport and the place where she had her shots had a hard time finding her info.
California will open up on June 15th. Everyone at the Walmart where I shopped was wearing a mask yesterday but Trader Joe's, that had the strictest requirements has stopped requiring people to wear masks.

the place where she had her shots had a hard time finding her info. It's very discouraging to me to hear this. I was assuming that any place that administered the vaccine would be required by state or local or CDC regulations to keep careful records.

susan092907, I'm not even sure who was running the clinic my husband and I went to. I think it was the Community Health Center of the city the clinic was in. jamescat1, My husband just took a picture of a copy of my card with my phone. Turned out well. I let him take the photo since he is a professional photographer. Thanks for the reminder I've been meaning to do it. We put the originals in our firebox and have copies on card stock in our wallets.

I'm not even sure who was running the clinic my husband and I went to. I think it was the Community Health Center of the city the clinic was in. My experience overall was that the distribution was very disorganized and inefficient. Information like that should have been made more clear, in my opinion, at least because of the issue raised that we might need to know where the original records are. The vaccine cards only are proof to a certain extent. I think if I were in your position, I'd want to clarify that now so I'd know where to find the original records, if any, in the event that I might need to retrieve them for some reason. Just my personal thoughts. Oh well, this is a discussion for a different thread.

I assumed someone would have records showing my information. It’s unbelievable there aren’t better records, especially if there is a need in the future to contact people about the vaccine they were given. My faith in my government and its abilities has diminished greatly.

Where we got our shots they put it in the computer. However they used a different software for the first one than the second one. They didn’t have a record of my first one. I showed them my card and they put both of them in the computer. I don’t trust it either since it was sponsored by my county.
