I have been following CDC guidelines. I've been asked to go to restaurants, etc and even though I am fully vaccinated I haven't done it. I've been very comfortable.
However, I have been waiting for their guidelines to update and now they have. I feel comfortable going without a mask because CDC has assessed the scientific evidence and my risk is very low that I will either get a serious case of Covid or that I will pass it on to others.
FWIW, I think that businesses should continue (for now) to require masks from everyone since they can't realistically police whether the person without a mask is vaccinated or not. If I go to a store with a policy that everyone wear masks then I will do it without any problem (to me wearing a mask has never been a big deal). If the store says vaccinated people don't have to wear a mask I won't. I plan to go and eat in a restaurant this week for the first time since March of last year.

I have to find the video I caught yesterday of a woman (maybe 40 years old, maybe 5ft tall!) chest bumping a 6+ft security guard saying she did NOT have to show her vaccination card to go maskless (sign on the store clearly stated that was their rule). She got mad and literally started bumping her chest into the guy. She's banned from the store for life and the police had to get her to leave.

For the most part people are still wearing masks here in the lower Hudson Valley in NY. I went to a plant nursery on Friday and almost everyone was wearing a mask, even outdoors. DH took the plunge and got ice cream at his favorite ice cream place after our plant shopping. They have walk-up windows only now, no one is allowed in the shop itself. Everyone in line had a mask on as did the employees. DH got his two shots at the VA and the record of those shots is available online and he got the standard CDC vaccine card. I got mine at Walgreens and all the info is available online for me, too, plus the card of course. I printed out all the online stuff and it is in a file with copies of the card, just in case. I am sure there will be plenty of fake cards out there and the ability to police venues as far as "only vaccinated people" getting in will be impossible. It is what it is. I personally do not give a flying fajita whether someone doesn't like the fact that I will be wearing a mask for the foreseeable future. As they said when THEY were not wearing masks---"You do you, I'll do me." As always...SAVE YOURSELF. susan092907, I'm pretty sure I know who was running the site. I just went to their website and sent a message asking about accessing my vaccination records.

I found my vaccination records at the Houston Methodist System website. I have an account with them that is accessed with a My Chart account. Because I get my mammos and bone density tests done there, those results are also there. I put a picture copy of my card on my phone and another copy is saved online under Google Photos. Surely, that should be enough copies.

bbbearsmom, Great! I know where mine are and have printouts of the date and time and which vaccine was administered. But I've always been a paper person (I'm old) and just like to keep these records even before the COVID vaccine.

I also had my PCP make a copy of my vaccination record for their files.

Finally, I had some plastic name badges from a conference DH and I attended. I put our cards in these to protect them. At the moment, they are on the side of my refrigerator. I'm not sure I'll ever need to show them but I do know where they are. Avery Name Badges

Ugh I went to 2 grocery stores today.. both have changed their mask requirements. I only saw a few people without them but I felt apprehensive.. suspicious.
Now what? Its back to being uncomfortable. :-(

Jennifer, I think it will take awhile for people to feel comfortable without a mask on. I'm in Texas and I'm seeing fewer masks every day. Some places are still requiring them (Kroger) but most have made it optional. I still keep a mask with me in case I feel better with it on.

I think tomorrow (the 19th) the State mask requirement is going to be lifted but I haven't heard what the two grocery stores I go to are going to do. I plan on keeping on using a mask.

Latest info: California's mask mandate will be dropped June 15th. Unless the governor changes his mind before then...

Our state mask mandate was lifted a couple of months ago. However businesses had the right to recommend them. This week the governor said no city or county could mandate them but businesses still have the right to ask unvaccinated people still wear them. Walmart dropped theirs and our HEB no longer has a person at the door with disposable masks or cleaning supplies.

My state (Connecticut) dropped the mask mandate for vaccinated people today. I went to the big grocery store today and the checker wasn't wearing a mask so I guess the store dropped its mask policy. I wore mine. I'll probably keep wearing my mask for a while.

bbbearsmom I am very surprised the employees werenโt wearing masks. They still wear them at HEB and Walmart in my town.
