Don’t know where the day went but did absolutely nothing. Fred grilled a ribeye and I fixed stuffed mushrooms, green beans and Bob Evans potatoes for dinner. Really tasted good! The maintenance on the Volvo came to over $500! But foreign cars are more expensive.

I did the same thing you did Sandy... absolutely nothing.. but that's pretty normal for me.... You know I'm not fond of mushrooms but I do love stuffed mushrooms... what do you stuff yours with... ? I haven't made them in a long long time..
Back was worse than it's ever been.. I think I messed up when I carried and moved too many big totes ful of stuff.. I knew they were too heavy for me but wanted it done... didn't want to wait for someone to come and do it for me.. Hopefully just by resting it for a few days it will hurt less.. if not then I will need to make a drs appt sooner than my regular one ... Today was very difficult just getting food and taking care of the dogs.
Marlene, Summer is not my favorite season either.. it's been 96-97 degrees here the last few days.. and only going to be warmer next month..

Jenny I buy the mushrooms already stuffed in the butcher section of our grocery store. It’s usually stuffed with crab and cream cheese and they aren’t very big. I only get four as that gives Fred and me two each which is all I can eat since they’re so rich.

Hi all!
Starting off at 55 and mostly sunny, wind from the N at 4 mph, 10% chance of rain, 53% humidity, high for the day 70! Got the errands completed but didn't stay at mom's long enough to see the boys. Was too tired an had a craving for a Subway tuna salad, and mom didn't want any. So enough playing around, today I need to settle down and get the weekend chores done. With that said, the sheets are in the washer doing it's thing, three more loads and J can check that chore off my to-do-list.
Sandy, just want to let you know that you're dong a great job this month!
Jenny, do take it easy for another day, and if you must, keep your activity to a minimum so your back can recover.
Lucy, the same goes for you, do take it easy and keep your activity to a minimum as well.
Well, that's about it for me, I hope you all have a great day. Hi ho hi ho off to greet the day and work on the house I go.
Continue take all of your negative and upsetting feelings (lemons) and turn them into lemon bars. Those lemon bars you have control of, just as you have control of your feelings and reactions; you do not have total control of everything that happens around you. Things happen for a reason, reasons that we may not know the answers to, but please don't let those that you don't like or agree with dictate the rest of your day and how you react/interact with others.
Have a good day, and I hope you will all be able to look back over your day and discover something that made you smile, and filled your heart with love, joy, laughter and happiness. Remember it doesn't have to be anything big or planned as often it's those little spontaneous events in our daily lives that will bring us joy. Continue to keep your eyes, ears, and heart open to all that is around you and remember no matter what, our days are never boring and uneventful. Make the most of the day.
Linda

I haven't had mushrooms at all recently since it is not a favorite of Jim. Last time I bought them fresh I threw most of them out. I used to put them in a lot of stuff like when I broiled a steak I would brown some in butter and put them over it. If I do that for Jim he just leaves them on the plate and the dog doesn't want them either...LOL. They are too expensive to just toss.
Hopefully today will be a better day than yesterday. Jim was in a terrible mood yesterday. I think he slept better last night tho' so things might look up. He is still in bed and it's almost 8.
See you all later for tuck in!

I don't care for mushrooms either. Part of it is a texture thing, but I can live without them.
The kitchen and bathroom are mopped and cabbage is in the slow cooker for lunch. I will make a skillet of cornbread. Bill will be here for lunch and rumicub.
Well, I forgot what else I was going to say. I need to put a load of clothes in the washer. I don't know how some of you have so much to wash when you live alone like I do. I seldom have a full load. Usually I set my water level on medium.

I like mushrooms and almost all kinds. We always had button mushrooms sautéed in butter with a steak. I do stuff large mushrooms with my regular bread stuffing. no sausage as it doesn't like me but do chop up a few mushrooms very tiny to put in the dressing. Nothing on top, just bake with a tiny bit of olive oil in the bottom of a pie pan, broke my little casserole dish and have never replaced it. I really like Portobello mushrooms and our grocery store has them all the time and they must be popular cause they will sell out quickly. Like them with many different dishes. One thing about mushrooms you either like them or you hate them. Sandy those sound awesome I would be tempted to try making them myself.
Guess no one knows a light weight sweeper so I am going with the reviews I found on line. Still undecided. am going to check out my DDs new one as she says it is very light weight with good suction. Can't beat that. I will try it on her carpeted bedroom floor. As I have mostly carpets. Sure she won't mind if I run it for her. LOL
Sheets are in the washer, should have done that batch first but it is fine, sunshine all day today. and a slight breeze so they will dry nicely and then put them on the bed.
Was thinking about spending my 30% at Kohl's tomorrow but with the lifting of wearing masks I am a bit cautious until I see who is going to do that in stores and who isn't . Didn't get much information like I feel I need. I know too many people that are refusing to get the vaccine to feel that safe. My Great Grandbabies are coming in a couple of weeks. And want to be sure I am protecting them. Too little to get the vaccine yet. Need more studies. I will be fine with small groups and people I know. over cautious a bit, Probably!! DD#2 says that is fine, she has lots of things to do at home and think she was just going with me cause I asked. DD#1 would just say, I am not shopping these days. Working in DR office at the hospital she is a bit like me, over cautious because the babies are coming.

Hi!
Ah, aching backs! I'll bet lots of folks our age have back aches. Comes of standing upright, my doctor says. So what are we supposed to do? say I. Don't stand too long, says he. Yesh! Some help he is.
This morning we met with our Retired Teacher group for breakfast for the first time since last year's shut down. It was so nice to see each other, and we enjoyed catching up. When we came home, we went for a very short walk around the complex and visited with a few of our friends here. Now, we're in for the day, and the laundry is in the dryer.
We have a lovely day, with sunshine! Tomorrow the rain is to return (maybe) but today is nice. I'm glad that we could take advantage of it. The meet and greet is this afternoon. I'm still not sure about whether to go.
Sandy, you are doing a great job this month! Thank you! Kathie, thank you for our nightly tuck-ins! Marlene, it's good to see you here. Lucy and Jenny, take care of your bodies! Connie, I love the red geraniums! Linda, aren't you pleased that you craved something kind of healthy? Wish I could.
Hugs! Diane

I got a lot done this morning. I did laundry (small load) and straightened out my dresser. I vacuumed the bathroom. kitchen, utility room, and the entrance rug from the garage into the house. I'll vacuum the living room after my daughter comes as she usually tracks things into the house. She owns a pet sitting business and walks a lot of dogs. When she goes off the sidewalk to clean up after them, she gets dirt on her shoes. It's 72 degrees now and partly cloudy. It's suppose to be cooler tomorrow with a chance of rain. Then back to the 70's.
