Nothing much to say today. Fred is golfing this morning. Not sure what, if anything weāre doing when he gets back.

Good morning. Things are really opening here with the clubhouse and pool having activities on Memorial Day. The menās club has a meeting with food already. The Memorial Day is for all residents. Most of them are still here I am still a bit hesitant but might go if I feel up to the morning one ...not the pool one. The morning one is to honor vets and i. Like to do that

Not much to do today. Well read and then later go to DDs for pizza night and use their internet. Iāll pick up a Daiya dairy free pizza, not our favorite, but will enjoy the company.
Iām reading a couple Marci Bolden books now. Basically a glorified romance novel. Would someone please give me the name of the new Kristin Hannah book?
Camper life: I canāt turn on the light in the bathroom so havenāt fixed my hair yet. I guess Iāll just have a cup of coffee.

Sharon the Kristin Hannah book is. The four winds. Warning. It breaks your heart as you read it. It is so well written that you live the story and I just end up in tears I had to stop reading last night because I felt so sad

Steven is gambling with Larry today so I will tick off a few things this morning. Sort of hooked into the movie THE 5TH QUARTER now but have missed parts of it as have been in and outside. Washed 3 pair of his jeans, chair blanket and chair cover late last night so put them in dryer this morning. Both hummingbird and oriole feeders are hanging. Restablized the clematis in my Avatar to building. Even more blooms this morning. Graduation card to mail box so far.
Hoping to spade last little bit of garden and put tomatoes in, only 5 this ear I think although I am a sucker for tomatoes. Everywhere I look outside there is something to be done. Will see what I can fit into this day. Will crumble cookies tonight and make the pudding mixture tomorrow night and assemble Dirt Cake cups Sunday morning, pack them and off to Lelandās party. To rain on Sunday. Next week maybe I can hit the yard hard after eye checkup on Monday. Really need to get mulch around peonies before they get to big. Weeds grow if nothing else happens.
Have a good day all I surely am going to take advantage of it.

Greetings:
Morning all! Somehow DH managed to unattach his hearing aid from his ear yesterday. We have looked everywhere for it starting in the car into the house and all around. We're just not finding it. I'd suggested he needed to go and get it tuned, maybe turned up, but he ddidn't think it needed it. Insurance says he can get a new set every five years. It's been longer than that since he got this pair, but he isn't interested in buying another one! This may be an ordeal.
Ruth, I looked and there are several balsamic vinegar stores in the Tampa area. I bet one of them is hooked into the same import company. There are two size bottles with different prices and prices also vary dependent upon the particular vinegar. I've always thought the Bethlehem store was a little pricey. I haven't looked for one here. I buy there and we bring it back. It gives DDIL points for purchase giving her free bottles with x number purchased.
I think we're getting somewhere with our tree replacement. I sent the request off to the board and management company yesterday. Now we'll wait. We are in the midst of switching management companies. I'm hoping we don't have the issues that some of you have mentioned. I need to go back and find that email about the change.
Going to be working on taxes today. Glad you got yours done, Ruth. I just need to get everything lined up and recorded. It drives me crazy when I know I've seen some document yet it's not in the folder. that has to mean I've dropped it in the wrong file!
We got an estimate for stamped concrete in our backyard. I thought it was a little high, but I think $18 a sf for the stuff is high so that naturally means the total will be high. Have another company coming today to give an estimate. I think his cost is low! Crazy, huh? We do have to get the weeds out of there. It makes it hard to see the slope!
We will leave a week from today for South Dakota. Bill's son has another job at the same place this year. We'll be there a couple of days and then drive back. He was going to drive up here but we said, no, we'd drive up there. I would SOOOO like to have all the tax stuff done by then! Of course, if I have to report for jury duty that takes a hunk out of Monday. then we'll have DGS-7 Tues - Thurs. I find it challenging to do anything requiring any brain power while I'm working with him.
My Friday afternoon zoom book club movie group is dissolving! We'd set up the group to provide some contact during Covid so the need for the group has faded away. I rather enjoyed it and it kept us up with our two who live split between here and other cities. Oh, well. Not sure when our last day will be.
The book for next book club is Death on Tuckernuck by Francine Mathews. It's set on the seashore and the author knows boats and sailing ships. When she got to the end she made a walloping leap to end it. That really annoyed me. but, as I'm expecting my number to be called for Jury Duty, I won't be available for the book club meeting. so, it won't be an issue.
Have a good day, all!

Been to PT early, picked up my car from son, went to church. Funeral Mass was very simple but nice. Now I'm home. Other than after school runs no other plans for today. Well, actually since the painters are done with both room and kitchen ceilings I'll probably out things back where they belong. It'll be nice to have my dining room table back as that it where I put everything.
The therapist told me today stating next week it's only once a week instead of two times a week. I guess that's telling me my PT is coming to an end. Not sure if it's helped our if the natural healing process is why things are a bit better.
I tried knitting the other day and it's still a no go. Will I ever be able to knit again. I really miss my knitting. If I can't ever knit again, what do I do with all this yarn!
After yesterday's chase through the neighborhood Duke is very quiet today. But he knew how upset I was with him yesterday. c

Good afternoon!
I've had a busy day so far today. I'm ready to relax in my recliner and stick my nose in my book I'm reading. It's The Partner by John Grisham. Very good!
I had a doctor appointment this morning and right after lunch the PT came for an evaluation. She left just a short time ago. I'll have PT (possibly OT too) for the next month. I'll also be getting once a week visits from nursing. Every day I see a slight improvement. This morning I went into the kitchen to make myself some toast for breakfast. I felt like I was able to stand a bit taller then yesterday and my back didn't feel as weak as it did the day before. Baby steps in the right direction.........

It sounds like you are both healing, if slowly, Vicki and Pat. That is good news. Baby steps is right.
Kristin Hannah can make you cry, Jane and Sharon. I read her THE GREAT ALONE into the wee hours when I was in rehab for my knee replacement and was bawling through half of it, sometimes with happiness, sometimes with grief. I remember soaking my Johnny and having to put my hand over my mouth so I did not wake up my roommate.
I am super mellow today. I had a 2-hour dental appointment. They did some bonding on my front teeth and it was a long time to sit, but no discomfort at all so I meditated. It is also a perfect day so I parked very far from the building and got some steps in. Still having a tough time finding a mover but it is not panicking me like it did yesterday.
Looks like DGD is not going to continue the line in terms of height. My mom, DD and I were all 5'7-3/4" tall when we were her age and she is 5'6-1/2" and seems to have stopped growing. The kids both went for their annual checkups and I asked how they were physically. DGD joked about it, saying she was great physically, but emotionally...she laughed. I know it still bothers her that she is moving, but she is accepting it.
Tomorrow starts my weekend with 2 cousins. I will go to dinner at June's, where Howard will be staying. Sunday we will take the LI Ferry and go to our parents' cemeteries, then drive to the town where our parents grew up. I am so looking forward to seeing Howard and June. Haven't seen him in a couple of years. I hope the beautiful weather continues.
Not doing much today. The dentist's visit tired me out a bit. But I do need to straighten up. June wants Howard to see my beautiful view.
Have a great rest of your day, all.

Vicki glad you are getting better...and Pat glad you are ,too.
Karen e. I loved your bird feeding stories. Humming birds are so special. I wish I could feed the birds. I miss that.
I have now listed about half the things in the second curio cabinet but nothing is selling. My prices are low but most people are not into collecting any more As I list them I move them into the first cabinet and it is getting very full . The pfaltzgraff I have listed is on a card table and it is getting full because I have listed many of the special pieces I never use. The interest has been women who want shipping. I will keep on listing everyday.
My list for the work was not done so things did not go as I wanted. Next week I hope they will let me in the clubhouse because I need to see our manager and she has not responded to my phone call.
About. The four winds book. It is excellent but so sad and much truth to the book. I have 100 pages left but can only deal with so much at a time beause it brings on such heartache . I highly recommend it but donāt expect to enjoy it. It is not a feel good book but very much a revelation of life that people experience.
I went to Publix today since I needed milk and $44 later I had more ..people were mostly wearing mask so I did too
The barber chicken was BOGO. So my freezer is full. Also the Panera salad dressing I love was. My intention for dinner was salad with a little ham and cheese on it but I had bought bread and decided I wanted bread and butter. Not a healthy choice but a craving . Kelcy had a better dinner than me. I think his eye looks good but the cornea is a bit cloudy.

I cannot believe I did not post this morning. I started to but more than likely got sidetracked.
Just finished ordering bras from Somas. For any of you that like Soma bras they are on sale this weekend for $29 each. I bought two that were regularly $58 each (which is way too pricey for me!).
Karen E, I did see your clematis on FB. Very pretty!
Sharon, I also read THE FOUR WINDS by Kristin Hannah. It is pretty heartbreaking and very well written. I cannot imagine living through those times! Like Jane, I had to read it a little at a time. It was our book club's read last month but I missed the meeting because I was at the beach. Our next book is THE PERFECT COUPLE by Elin Hilderbrand. It is a beach read murder mystery.
Jane, Yes, things are opening back up fully since CDC is not requiring masks for those fully vaccinated. Most stores are still requiring them. Mike got a haircut today and had to wear one. We do not have Memorial Day plans, so far.
Gail, That is a long dentist appointment. I am sure you are glad it is over with.
Karen, Sorry about Bill's hearing aid. What a pain! I hope he finds it! It is not easy to get around the busy areas of Tampa, especially south Tampa due to all of the traffic. I may have Mike take me to one of those vinegar stores on my birthday. He is a much more patient driver in heavy traffic than I am and perhaps it will not be busy on Tuesday in the middle of the day. Good luck on your taxes. I have had that same issue with putting the files in the wrong folder and could not find documentation for the microwave I replace in the condo I rent out, so I just skipped it. It would not have made that much of a difference but still very frustrating. The other thing I was looking for was my RMD for my Merrill Lynch IRA. I finally found the letter that said I did not need to take a RMD for 2020 and that is why I could not find it. LOL
