Good morning friends. Slept well and grateful. Another beautiful day. Sunshine and no wind make me smile.
Tonight we are getting together with 2 other couples for a glass of wine, snacks, music and wonderful conversation. We are all looking forward to it. I am not hosting....one other couple volunteered.
Other than that and perhaps a stop at Pet's Plus (taking Mr. B) is on the agenda.
Wishing all a wonderful OP day.

Good morning! It's a beautiful day up here. Hope it's the same in MI and LA.
Ann, how fun to start socializing again. Sounds wonderful. We are all planning our book club social event with the husbands for next week. A backyard BBQ and we'll all bring something. I cannot wait to see everyone.
I plan to get out and walk today again with D&D and then alone. Doug has a little limp off and on. Ever since he had the Bell's Palsy, he is a little shaky everywhere and it shows up now and then. So, we take it easy on walks with him even though once his adrenalin kicks in, he is like a puppy on a walk. But, he suffers for it later.
Breakfast was a half of a WW english muffin with spinach, an egg and a half slice of sharp cheddar melted on top. My weight is about the same. Hoping the walking will help. I am bouncing up and down the same lb all week. But I shall just KEEP at it! All your help means a lot!
Waving to Sue. I am sure working keeps you very busy all week. Hope you and DH are doing well.

Ann, Mr. B cracks me up. Do you remember a long time ago when we were kids...a shoe store for kids named Mr. Bee's on Mill Street, I think?

LOL Judy...yes I do remember that shoe store. And I think it was on Mill Street or in that general area. Thanks for the happy memory Yes it is good to start socializing once again. I want to take full advantage of the nice weather and will see about having another one when this one is one and done. Don't want to break the momentum LOL. Your outing sounds good as well. I love it when everyone brings something to share. Takes the load off one person doing it all. Didn't know little Doug had Bell's Palsy. You are wise to not push him.
At times weight does that. I think it's our bodies telling us to take a breather. I know you will ride it out and come out on the other side. Yes we are here for one another. It's our little safe and happy place Sue praying that all is well with you and DH and that you are just busy. Time to get a move on. The trip to Pets Plus may not happen...we'll see.

Thanks for the encouragement, Ann. I really do lose weight like a slug. But, I think at our age, it is often the same for all of us. It ain't easy, that's for sure! All we can do is move on and keep at it.
I remember starting kindergarten at Lee Street School and my mother taking us to Mr. Bee's for new school shoes. :-) I don't think we all had the shoe "wardrobe" we have today! School shoes, play shoes which were usually Keds and church patent leathers. Oh and winter boots and "rubbers". Remember those? In many ways, it was so much easier. Today most of us have way too many shoes. At least, I do. Same with jackets and coats. And many other things. Covid is teaching me how little I need versus what I may want.
Doug had Bell's Palsy diagnosed a few years back when he had a droopy eye. Tufts said that his face was a bit droopy but we didn't notice. His eye is much better but he still is a little shaky. He also had Lyme Disease which went undiagnosed. He has the flea and tick regimen so we didn't know we had to worry. Ugh. They think the Lyme Disease caused the Bell's Palsy. Poor little Dougie. He seems happy regardless.
Off for a stroll with D&D. Even a slow stroll will help that metabolism.

Good Morning, WW Friends ~
TGIF!! I see that I missed a couple of days of posting. For some reason, I was unusually tired this week. Perhaps starting with a poor night's sleep Sunday night, then again Monday night. We were busy as usual at school, but I didn't do much but the bare necessities after school. I did log on a couple of times and checked to see that you were all doing okay.
Ann ~ Your plans for your get-together sound absolutely divine! You have all the major components, including good company. I totally agree with you about the sunshine and NO WIND! We have had more than our share of wind and I am tired of it. A couple of days when I wanted to walk, the wind was just horrid, so I stayed indoors instead.
Judy ~ I certainly did enjoy the pictures of your DD. They were beautiful and such a welcome respite. We have a beautiful day on tap. After an unusually cold week (with frost/freeze advisory every night) the sun is finally out and it is predicted to go up to almost 70!!
Pam ~ What great news that your DH is making progress! I know you must be delighted! I swear we worry more about them than about ourselves (?) I bet your three DD's are having a blast! I am glad our weather turned nicer for their visit.
This morning I am changing our bed and my intention is to replace my dust ruffle. The one on my bed has the full platform and I think my days of lifting the mattress to change it are over and done. I am planning to switch to a wrap-around type one, and have been looking online with the plan of ordering one today. Do any of you have any experience/thoughts/tips on which kind to get?? I would appreciate it!!
I have picked up all the throw rugs and shaken them and they are waiting outdoors until I mop and vacuum. I had planned to replace the kitchen rugs with "summer" ones, but I think it can wait until weekend after next. We will be out of town next weekend for the wedding of our "(former) MSU student" which will be held in Grand Rapids. We are also working on plans to get together with the #2 son and daughter of DH's VBF (who live in Grand Rapids). So I won't clean again until Memorial Day weekend and then I'll be putting on my new Summer quilt and changing the rugs.
After some cleaning today, we will be taking advantage of some much-needed patio time. It has been so cold lately that we haven't even thought of sitting out. In fact, all my outdoor potted plants have been residing on my dining table, where they get ample sunshine but stay warm. Hopefully tonight we will be sitting out, and if the wind doesn't take over, DH is planning on a fire.
BBL. Make a great day!!

Great to see you Sue. Sorry for your back to back sleepless/restless nights. That surely would do it for me as well. You know as much as I don't like the cold wind of winter, I would much rather take that then the winds now with all the pollen blowing around. TOday started out nice but at times I can see the trees bending over from the wind. Enough already. It will die down and I hope it doesn't appear while we are out walking. Sorry no experience on the wrap around dust ruffles. Carl does that bull work for me as I couldn't lift the mattress. I help him guide it. I'd also be interested in which one you choose. I did a little house cleaning while Carl mowed our lawn. Never made it to the pet store and that's find. Nothing we really needed. It should be a fun evening. The best part is that seeing as we'll be sitting in their screen room Benjamin is also invited Win win situation. Tootles

Oh Ann .... that is so special that you have friends who invite your fur baby as well! I think that is just about as special as it gets!!
I have almost all my cleaning done, as well as shopping on Amazon. I found the color and length of dust ruffle that I wanted and ordered it and it will come on Monday. I don't need it yet, so that's okay. I have always had a white one, but the new one will be ivory (since that is in all of my quilts).
I just talked to DH and we made plans for fish 'n chips dinner tonight. The place we get it is a favorite, and the owner recently mentioned to DH that I hadn't been in for three weeks (time flies when you're having fun LOL). Today I had Greek yogurt & blackberries w/F1 for breakfast, then a cup of bean/veggie soup for lunch with a banana. I am also planning on a Clementine for a snack this afternoon.

LOL Judy yes I DO remember rubbers...and the over your shoe rubber boots complete with faux fur on top LOL... I used to have to get 'special shoes' at Dr. Lock's on Pleasant Street. I needed support for my chubby body LOL and could only wear tie shoes. It wasn't until High School when I was allowed loafers. Oh how I loved my penny loafers and then the ones with the bar across. There used to be a shoe store downtown that sold loafers and I forget the name brand and the store LOL....I believe it was across the street from Marcus back in the day. Yes we never really had an abundance of 'stuff' back in the day. And even going into drugstore they didn't have a lot of OTC to choose from. Just the basics and actually that was all we needed. Poor little Doug. I shall add him to my prayers to St. Francis of Assisi. Sue I am so overjoyed that she called to invite Benjamin. They all know how hard we took it when we lost poor dear miss LuLa. I love the fact that they are going out of their way to make Benjamin feel welcome. He had treats given to him Love fish and chips. Enjoy. I just finished a clementine GMTA

Hi All,
Sue, so great to see you here and to know all is well! I am sure the work routine coupled with some restless nights make for a tiring week. It sure sounds like you bounced back with all your chores today, though. I love how organized your life is on the home front. I have no advice for a dust ruffle. Ever since the giant mattresses have come into being - we have a King sized Stearns and Foster, I've given up on dust ruffles but I do like the idea of a wrap around one. Once we get to the new house, I am going to look into that. Thanks for the tip. Thanks for the nice words on DD's modeling session. She said for me to make sure to tell my friends that she hardly ever looks like that...ha ha. Mom of two and busy running her own business generally has no time for makeup or anything other than yoga pants. :-) She said her makeup was done professionally for the "shoot". Fun.
I did work today and at lunch sat on the deck and read. I am reading The Last Patient which is a psychological mystery that I waited a long time for a the library. So far, so good!
I thought about fish and chips tonight, too, but then decided to make some air fryer salmon with sweet potatoes and asparagus. Tomorrow we are going to the Cape to see the builder and go over which wooden natural oak floors we want - ones with natural "knots" or ones completely clear. LOL Decisions are never-ending. So, after we are done, I think we will have a dinner at the Cape and it may be some fried clams. Holding out for that treat and better not have it two nights in a row.
All for now!

P.S. Ann, I hope Mr. B has fun tonight, too! I am sure he will be a hit and it's great that he is already so well socialized. :-) I am trying to think what shoe store was on Main Street. We moved away when I was 7 so I have only tales that have been told about Richard Healy's, Marcus and all the shops my Nana and mom visited.
Was it Regal shoes, Ann? I just looked it up. LOL

No that name doesn't ring a bell. They sold handbags and shoes only.....hopefully it'll come to me. It was a specific brand of loafers......I want to say Weejuns but not sure and not even sure of the spelling LOL...too long ago. Man I loved all those shops as well. The old Worcester had a lot to offer in the down town area. Lots of great restaurants as well back in the day. That book sounds very familiar...I think I read it about a month or so ago and seemed to me I waited forever for it to become available. Hmmmm LOL..... Time to get a move on. Will catch up with y'all tomorrow. Yes we are thrilled that Mr B can come with us
