The weather is NICE these days! It is cool enough inside that I find I want a sweater at times though not COLD. Sleeping with the windows open is perfect and provides great rest. I made buckwheat today and am on the fence about it...it is softer than some grains and there is not a perceptible flavor that I can taste. Scale was up a bit <166> this morning though I was OP.
CHERRY: How do you trim around trees and rocks? Do you have to use big scissors or???
LYNN: Sorry I didn't put your name on the question I posted yesterday! 28 years in the service is a long time...I take my hat off to him! Did you need to worry about having your eyes dilated at the doctor's office or were you able to drive home without trouble?
BEVERLY: Baba Ganouj is an eggplant dip/dish that is made by roasting eggplant over fire, skinning and then mashing, mixing with tahini, garlic and lemon juice. Loquats are a fruit with many seeds but also tasty. Oops on the personal twice to you and not getting Lynn's name on hers!

Good morning all!
Cathy, I read about the loquats, I don't think I had ever heard of them before. I have heard of kumquats but never loquats. I enjoy reading the dishes that you prepare there.
Cherry, Please be careful out there when you are trimming, etc. I picture your yard as very level & very pretty, with very green grass & lots of plants.
Lynn, Thank your husband for his service to our country! 28 yrs is a very long time. My DH is a disabled Vietnam War era veteran. He was in an accident on a training mission. He was run over by a jeep. When the guy driving the jeep realized that he had hit him, he slammed on the brakes & DH ended up with the jeep actually resting on top of him. He broke his food in several places & knocked out most of his teeth. He went through extensive surgeries to fix his foot & of course, has dentures for the rest of his life. He was in the hospital for a long time & right after we were married, he had to go back for another round of surgery. He was in the hospital for over a month that time. Boy, did I take a lot of jokes about putting my new husband in the hospital! He was a paratrooper, but never was able to jump again after that. All those jumps from a plane & he was never injured, even jumping into enemy territory, then was run over by one of his own men!
Happy Friday everyone!

Wow, Bev, it sounds like your husband was very lucky to survive that accident.
My yard is flat but the grass is not very green, as I don't keep it watered much. The grass is a mix of lawn grass and prairie grasses. I have a pair of lawn hand clippers for trimming grass close to where the mower won't reach it. These rocks had grass and dirt built up around and in between them so it took awhile to get it out. I did manage to get it dug out close to ground level. I'm going to put a large flower pot beside the rocks and plant flowers in it. And the thought occurred to me to maybe plant a few tulips here and there around those rocks.
I got some of my water hoses set up and today I'll work on the spot inn the garden where I'm going to plant potatoes, corn, and squash. Digging out around those rocks took longer than I expected. So I didn't get anything else done. Today I may plant some herbs in pots while I'm taking a break from the garden spot.
Have a nice day, beaches.

Oh Bev, what a horrible accident. Thankfully, he had his beautiful new wife to help him along. It's terrible that it was our own troops that did it. My DH was hit by a car right after we were married and broke both his legs. It was a hit and run in a 7/11 parking lot. I had to move with him to his mother's house as we couldn't fit a hospital bed in our house and we had stairs he had to walk up. It was a tough six months, but we made it through. He was the commander of a unit in Albany and he went there wheelchair and all...
I'm back from the eye doctor and that visit is done for awhile. I ordered new glasses and will pick them up when they call.
It is beautiful here today. Tomorrow we will head into the city to do our banking and then visit my daughter.
Have a great day!!
