Tonight I saw the last episode of THE UNDERGROUND RAILROAD. It was, in parts VERY hard to watch. There are brutal scenes depicting the abuse of blacks under slavery. It is not factual, though most of the events are similar to those that happened. Cinematography is stunning, acting excellent. Not for the faint of heart.

I binge watched Halston last night and thought it was an amazing series, very well acted. What a complicated man! Liza Menelli was one of his closest friends. There are some graphic sex scenes, drugs, etc. I watched it on Netflix, excellent series.

I'm back. I don't think I gave a very thorough review of Halston. The acting in this was remarkable. Halston was a tortured, talented man with several tragic flaws. He was very close to Liza Minelli AND to Martha Graham! The woman who played Julia Margoulis' mother-in-law plays Martha Graham and she is marvelous in the role. There are some brutal scenes but the end of the film is quite touching. There are insights into the competitive nature of the fashion world, insights into the fragility of many artists, insights into the struggle to be an artist and to handle business relationships and decisions. I am so glad I watched this series.

I finally checked out TENET as it was available for free. It had so many wonderful actors, a different plot, crazy special effects. If I had been in a different space I might have watched it all more closely, but Mr. Lani tired of it and checked out early. The plot took too much attention. I ended up reading the plot on Wiki and then fast forwarding through most of the last hour.
The kept wife of the Kenneth Branaugh character, Elizabeth Debicki's role was very similar to her character in THE NIGHT MANAGER. That is the only other part I've seen her in, however, she has been in plenty of other roles (I checked her out on wiki also). BTW, she will be taking over the role of Diana on THE CROWN.
