Pat, I agree with Karen about talking to your PT. If you tell he/she that you want to be able to knit without your hand falling asleep they can give exercises to work toward that goal. That is what my yoga friend did after her 2 knee replacements and she now has no trouble doing yoga.
Will ponder QOTD and BBL to answer.

Marlo, I hope your hairdresser is ok. I used to highlight my hair. When I decided to grow it out the hairdresser wanted to strip out the color. I wouldnât let her. I could see brown roots not grey. That was the right decision as I am also one of the lucky ones who has brown hair at 71. My paternal grandmother didnât get any grey until her mid 80s. On my Momâs side the aunts and my grandmother all had beautiful white hair.

AOTD: Yes, I do believe the pandemic is over for my household. I will only wear a mask if required. Publix lifted their mask mandate. Many of the smaller stores and restaurants are still requiring them here. I will still frequent those places requiring a mask and mask up.

Re:masks. I will still exercise caution. For the short time Iâm in a store or around strangers the mask doesnât bother me. Iâm waiting for the head count on our mini reunion at a friends house on Tuesday. Then I will ask my BF hostess who has had the Vac.
With slight unexplained lung damage I feel that with COVID, mild or not I could end up on oxygen. Thatâs a guess but so is the safety of the Vac. At my age Iâm doing all I can with diet and exercise to stay healthy. My world is small right now so mask use is of minimal necessity. To each there own, just so everyoneâs safe!
I made it to the car wash and TJâs (no line) and another market, in and out.
Ruth usually the highlights perk up my hair so I went to Sallyâs and got a rinse. This was probably a month ago. Itâs a light ash brown I think. It was enough for two applications, shampooed in. It didnât change my color just gave it a natural looking boost. My daughter pays big bucks and I swear they do the same thing!
Iâve known people to get relief from Carpal Tunnel with PT, hopefully it would get Pat back knitting.
Itâs a beautiful day, so Iâll take a walk and enjoy it!
Marlo

Good afternoon!
I've had several visitors today and rested in between. I completely forgot to post until just now.
Pat, I hope you feel better! I never had back pain before my accident but now I know how painful it is.
Geri, I have a few restrictions at the moment. I'm using a walker but I can set it aside and walk on my own if I'm close to something to hang on to. I can do quite a bit on my own but I need to move slow and the most important thing is to listen to my body and rest my back when I need to. Jerry helps me quite a bit but I'm hoping to be able to make a full recovery. I can get in and out of the shower with the help of a grab bar. My daughter ordered a shower chair so I use that when I take a shower. I can't drive yet but will be able to when I'm completely out of pain. The doctor and PT think it will probably take another month or so. I'm very willing to wait because I don't want to get impatient and do anything that would set my progress back.
QOTD: I haven't been anywhere except the doctor's office since I've been home so I don't know if people are still wearing masks here or not. When we went to the doctor, we did stop by the bank. I stayed in the car and Jerry went inside. He wore a mask but he said he was the only one wearing one. I think for both of us, we'll stop wearing masks except if we go into a store that requires one be worn. We both wore masks when I went to the doctor but they're still required there and probably will be for some time to come.

Marlo, That is exactly why I quit highlights...just too pricey. I was paying $190 and it seemed to take a big chunk out of my day. It was different when I was working. I just don't see the need to pay that kind of money anymore. My DD pays more than that, but she is young and has good income.
Vicki, Glad you are getting your rest in between visitors. It will take awhile before you are feeling back to normal.

Pain is something you sort of have to learn to live with, no back surgery here yet. Not planning on it actually but guess I wonât say never. I do what I can when I can till my body says rest. I rest some day a lot. Did get my garden spaded yesterday and tomato plants in. One flower bed on east end of upper building where Clematis is all weeded an new mulch layer down also yesterday. Was going to crumble cookies last night but was pooed so did them this morning. In the past I have used the blender to crumble them and it took forever. Decided to try my food processor today crumbled 3 party size packages of Oreo cookies in a few minutes. Making the pudding mix before I go to bed so it will cool all night them assemble the cups in the morning. Layer them in cooler. They wonât last long after I get there.
This afternoon I weeded and mulched the flower bed along driveway to house. Planted a few Marigolds. Ran the weed trimmer till 2 batteries were dead. Rob said I didnât need a new battery for my golf cart but believe I do. It wonât start but if I put the battery charger on it for a few minutes it will start. In my chair now resting but did take a pain pill with my supper meal.
Daughter sent a text message this afternoon that they would be having our youngest granddaughterâs 17th birthday party at our house May 31, Memorial Day. Jennahâs birthday is the 24th but to many graduation parties and Graduation ceremony May 23rd and everyone working weekdays. Was news to me that it is at our house but both of the kids live in smaller houses than mine and ours is small, just more open. This means I will be going to cemeteries Saturday or Sunday. Always happy to have them all come.
I will wear mask places that are required but will be happy to be more free of them. Our governor lifted all restrictions a week or so ago. Some places still have it posted and I respect their suggestions. The place where we have our TOPS meeting lifted all restrictions.
