Spent a lot of time working on the puzzle and it’s so frustrating as I have the frame pretty much done but am missing five pieces. So have decided I’ll start working on filling it in and maybe the pieces will show up. I went through the box five times but didn’t find them. But at least working on it kept me from even thinking about eating!
Pretty much a rainy day and on the cool side but supposed to start warming up this week.

Hi!
Just stopping by to let you know I'm still reading!
Sandy, Congratulations! to your granddaughter! Lots of work still ahead. I'm sure she will do well.
I've been sewing, then doing the "interruptions" Guy comes up with. Since I'm wearing hearing aids now, I have to wear the ear elastics in a position other than over the ears. I've been wearing them latched together lower than my hair on my neck. It works. Kind of hurts my nose, though.
Had my hair cut on Friday. So nice to have it short and all fitting together.
Connie, I took corsages of three silk roses each to my mother, and her grandmother and two great-grandmothers' graves for Mother's Day. My own grandmothers each have a vase -- which is just about more trouble than not having one. (I put bouquets in those as well.) My aunt tells me that if I put some 1/2" wire fencing in it, that will hold the silk flowers. Maybe Guy will pick up some of that for me. Well, shucks, I got off on a rabbit trail. I meant to write: I'm happy my parents are at the Veterans Cemetery. They keep it looking so pretty. My only regret is that Mom's name is on the back side of the stone. So her little corsage was actually in front of Dad's name, because she is buried on that side.
See you tomorrow, my friends! ~~Mollyann

Yes gas is high in California but people are buying like they bought toilet paper when the pandemic first hit... what is wrong with people anyway.. anyway the pipeline is up and running again so I expect in a few days the supply will once again meet the demand. and the prices will come back down.... but californias gas has always been higher because they are much stricter what goes into the air ..
I was sick all night last night.. but today I feel a bit better.. just no energy but that's probably because of lack of sleep.. I belong to an over 80s facebook group and surprising how many older people have the same problem.. I've gotten to the point that I'm just not going to worry about it... if I have to take naps during the day so what? Who is it hurting? if it lets me function a bit better than I am ok with that.. The only time it is difficult is when I have an appointment or someone is coming to visit.. but I can work around that .. My dogs don't care what time I feed them as long as I do it sort of regularly.. they love me anyway.
I put an ad on our local town page for someone to come and help with housework and organizing.. a couple of days a month.. but i'm surprised by the lack of responses.. I've gotten three of them so far and none are acceptable to me.. One is a man who has contacted me before for something, don't remember what but I don't like the looks of his profile and don't want him in my house.. One a young girl who can only work weekends.. and one a lady almost as old as I am.. just not what I'm looking for..
Lucy, why did you take the gabapentin in the morning? Are you going to try to up the amount you take?
I need to get someone to come and fix my shower head so that I can use my stool in the shower.. sometimes I just don't have the strength to stand that long.. but as it is now the shower head doesn't adjust enough to let me use the stool.. Not sure what kind I should get.. Might have Ramon look at it but he is so busy and has so many people to care for.. I just hate asking...... he rarely gets any time for himself.. last week he took a day and went for a hike.. he loves doing that.. and he felt so good later. Everyone needs to do something for themselves sometimes.

Hi!
Jenny, I reached the same realization about napping. I AM RETIRED! No one is checking my productivity except me. I hope you find someone to help you that suits you. Maybe you'll have to hire someone short term and wait till something better comes along? Just no one creepy! There are those who take advantage.
Sandy, hope you have a blessed Sunday! Thank you for our opening.
Molly, what a good idea for the vases! We use styrofoam balls.
We were up late last night watching to see our DGD's 30 seconds of fame as her name was read and she walked past the camera to graduate. So I see a nap this afternoon in my plans for the day. We'll zoom Sunday school and then stream our church service. No expectations for visitors today.
Hugs! Diane

Jenny, I took a gabapentin yesterday because my legs and feet were hurting. She wrote the prescription for 2 twice a day. I haven't gotten up to that. Usually just one at night.
From my weatherman: Today is the start of a Soggy Mess ... UP to 8″ of rainfall is possible Sunday through next Friday !
Kathie, must have had a rough day. No tuck in.
Molly, people here can go without the mask unless where they go is requiring one. Some still do. There will be a few masks at church today. We are not distancing at church anymore.
Diane, when will you feel comfortable going back to in person church?
Well, I have already taken a Tylenol. I may take another by church time if I don't get enough relief. I think the weather has something to do with my neuropathy as it causes Old Arthur to act up and press on the nerves.
Last cuppa then I will make my bed and get dressed. Bill will be here to take me to church and out to eat.
Have a great Sunday all.

I just finished watching my church service on line. I am amazed at what I can get done in the hour between the time I get up, take my thyroid med, check my blood sugar level, and get dressed. Today I got the laundry started and vacuumed the entry way and the living room. Nothing else is planned for the day. It's sunny and 64 degrees outside. Maybe a walk is in my future.

Hi, again!
Lucy, our church hasn't opened for Sunday School yet. Our class is on zoom and has been for a while. We could make it to church, but we'd be walking in late. I cannot do that. Some class members just leave class early, but that doesn't seem right, either. Of course, we could quit attending SS class, and we've talked about that. But... So you see our quandry. Sigh...
Hugs! Diane

Hi all!
57 and cloudy, feels like 55, wind from the N at 8 mph, 74% humidity, 40% chance of rain, and a high of 63. Didn't get much accomplished yesterday just the ironing and a board meeting. Usually I've got the energy in the am, but if I run out to do errands or have appointments, etc., my energy and motivation kinds goes out the window.
Sandy, puzzles are fun, my dad enjoyed doing them, but I know how frustrating it can be when you can't find a particular piece, and when you do, it's right in front of you. Also enjoyed doing puzzles, but I just can't seem to get to a stopping point. I remember staying up till 1 or 2 in the morning and having to get ready for work in a few hours. No good for a person with sleep apnea. Hope you found those missing pieces today.
Hi Molly! What are "interruptions" you were referring to and Guy? I like the idea of placing a corsage for your mother grandmother and great grandmother's grave site.
Jenny, hope you feel better today. When I need my son to do something for my I always tell him that it's not an emergency, so when he has time and is in the neighborhood, could he take a look at blah blah blah, or do blah blah blah. That usually works out for me, and he usually lets me know when he can come over.
Diane, congrats on you DGS's 30 seconds of fame. What are her plans now? Grad school, work, travel?
Lucy, are you/the state of Texas in a drought situation or are you ever in a drought situation? If your not, consider yourself very lucky.
Nancy, enjoy your day, sounds like a great day to relax.
Just noticed that I have a 12:00 blood draw for tomorrow. Guess I'd better call first thing in the morning to confirm. Not much going on here today, just the stuff that I didn't do yesterday, maybe if motivated will go out to look for the mouse mom wants.
I hope you all have a great day. Hi ho hi ho off to greet the day I go.
Continue take all of your negative and upsetting feelings (lemons) and turn them into lemon bars. Those lemon bars you have control of, just as you have control of your feelings and reactions; you do not have total control of everything that happens around you. Things happen for a reason, reasons that we may not know the answers to, but please don't let those that you don't like or agree with dictate the rest of your day and how you react/interact with others.
Have a good day, and I hope you will all be able to look back over your day and discover something that made you smile, and filled your heart with love, joy, laughter and happiness. Remember it doesn't have to be anything big or planned as often it's those little spontaneous events in our daily lives that will bring us joy. Continue to keep your eyes, ears, and heart open to all that is around you and remember no matter what, our days are never boring and uneventful. Make the most of the day.
Linda

It is supposed to be 70's today. Hooray. I see some color on the rhododendrums today, they are a bit late but at least they did not get frozen. at least not all of them. If the whole hedge does not bloom that is okay I will enjoy what does come out. I saw my neighbor out checking on them this morning. they are his and he takes such good care of him but since it is such a long hedge he can't cover them. People come from all over the area just to slow down and check out his rhodoies. Every color but orange. He said that bush died of all he planted years ago.
Our gas always goes up in summer except for last year when no when was traveling and our tourist trade was way down. so that is part of our increase here. Don't know if we had lines and hoarding here or not. don't think so as there has been nothing about it in local paper or local news. We did have a big article about the fake news about people filling weird containers, turned out that was from years ago. Hasn't happened anywhere with all the rules about what kind of containers you can use.
Jenny, why don't you try the young person only on weekends. that would be something and bet you would be helping a young person with a college fund or even just spending money or trying to help out at home. Might be a very good worker. Young and strong.!! If it doesn't work out you can always tell her you don't need her anymore or she is not working out. Since some of us are using our Grandkids we are finding out they are very good workers for us maybe not at home. But great for Grandma.
My DGS#3 came for the shower present and tried to get me to tell him what it is. I had wrapped it so nothing to let him know. He got a kick out of me finding paper to match the nursery theme. Even if this present doesn't go in the nursery. But didn't even tell him that. There was a separate package to go along with it and thought he could trick me into telling him what that was. I just rolled my eyes at him. Nope no hints. He was painting the nursery and also mowing grass and had to go pick up their beef they had ordered. He had a long list. guess his SO only has 2 more weekends to work midnights and then will take a break from that. She is not getting a lot of sleep on that shift. She is an xray tech and lot of auto accidents in the wee hours of early morning. Plus too many spousal abuse cases these days, both married and un married couples.
I am worried about the no mask for vaccinated people. there are too many that are still are not going to be vaccinated and how do we know who they are. they haven't been wearing masks either. Will see how this goes in my area. Hoping the grocery stores continue to mask. I am not ready to give mine up yet. and Memorial Day is arriving soon. I want to stay protected for the babies in the family. We can unmask for our things as everyone is vaccinated. But not sure about the people I might be in contact with before they get here. Will stay careful, just cause!!

Jim has been giving me a hard time. Sorry no tuck in!.....Today it looks like it might rain. Yesterday my DSon put his puppy Izzy (the 1/2 Doberman Pincher) in the front yard with Shana and they had a ball playing together. We are in the process of putting in a generator so when the gas and electric company shuts off our electric for 3 days like they are planning this summer to do we will have enough electric working to get by. No TV but other things will work like the A/C (for Jim) and the refrigerator. We talked about putting in a water tank since we are on a well but I should be OK with water except for flushing the toilet. And, that's just not important to me.
See you all later for tuck in.
