This thread is for all of us who have been on the weight loss merry-go-round quite a few times. We have banded together to make this our FINAL time. We offer support & motivation, WEIGHT LOSS TIPS, food ideas – whatever you need to make it your FINAL time. If you start the day’s thread, please copy and paste this paragraph, with the following 2021 Goals:
Carole: 1.) Journal Daily, thoughts, feelings, ideas 2.) Track daily, Good, Bad, Ugly, HONESTLY 3.) Move every day, 10-30 minutes, as able 4.) Limit/Reduce Alcohol, All of it! 5.) Be thankful for something - every day.
Gabrielle 1. Wellness--take steps each day to address better wellness (moving, attention to my eating, getting sleep, etc.) 2. Debt-- continue to take steps to eliminate debt (including the kids college debt that we are covering) so that I have no debt when I retire. 3. Connectedness-- each month have a plan to stay connected to those who I care about (maybe dinner once/month after COVID, Zoom, phone calls, etc.) 4. Creativity -- seek out projects that keep me using the creative side of my brain (knitting, paint parties?, etc.) 5. Journaling/Self-Awareness--find a way to journal my thoughts and to think through challenges and opportunities
Sue: 1. Get moving - plan to utilize my Cubii 3-5 times per week at least 2. Moderation - limiting junk, snacks, wine and all things I know that sabotage my success 3. Daily Gratitude - continue our November daily gratitude. 4. Start a journal - my "Life & Apples" journal will arrive later in the week. 5. Be more "present" - in life, in my journey, with family & friends, in all aspects of my world.
Jenny 1) I'm moving to a clean eating plan like more veggie dishes and less red meat 2) I pulled out my Bob Harper from the Biggest Loser's " Yoga for weight loss DVD" and do that in the evening since it's pouring down rain here. 3) Cut way back on the wine at nights, they sell those tiny little bottles that have 5oz in them and limit myself to only 1-2 per day, that can work right? 4) Track everything even if I'm in the negatives and hold myself accountable
Christine: 1. Cardio exercise daily (walk, stationary bike) 2. FOLLOW the WW Plan using Honesty. 3. Daily gratitude - Say something NICE each morning
Karen: 1. Take one step at a time and be kind to myself. 2. Move by getting my kayak on the water at least one day per week... it will be more as the weather warms. 3. Stick to my intermittent fasting schedule. 4. Try to sleep reasonably.
Shelly: 1. Be more organized at work. Never leave with stuff on my desk 2. Be there for people when they need someone to lean on 3. Stick with WW plan!!! No matter what!!!! 4. Be a better influence on those around me.

WALK AWAY WEDNESDAY ~ Whether it be walking away from a stressful situation ~ or just walking away from your desk for a few minutes ~ or walking away from an unhealthy treat ~ Whatever the reason - WALK AWAY! I got 9 of 10 dots yesterday, missed one due to a meeting! I feel GOOD about my walking down and up the three flights of stairs, just about every hour. A few times I go down 2 sets of stairs and outside to wander down the end of the parking lot and back! I know not everyone has a chance to do this, every hour. These days my work load is so "light" that I seriously could be out by 1 PM and still get my work done! So I have some very LONG afternoons, hence the reason I wander as often as I can. It spreads the work out over more of the afternoon! With our restructuring, I didn't "lose" much in the line of daily work, so I am not quite sure why things are as slow as they are these days! Anyway... I will WALK AWAY as much as I can today too!
Gabrielle: So sorry that you have to help everyone with their work, so no time to do your own! What's wrong with this picture? I totally "get" why they want your input, but sorry it makes you set your own plan aside. {{{hugs}}} I too am finding by tracking the carbs vs points, I can get "off track" with so many free things on WW. All the free fruit does have carbs! My biggest problem over a weekend, is not eating all day, then I think by only eating one meal, I can just EAT... but WOW When I track it, my one meal is enough points for a whole day! I will try to track more this weekend. (just to see) This week has not been a good carb week, with Ken home doing the cooking!
Well looks like no hotel this weekend. Apparently with graduations (possibly), everything is either booked or way over the top in pricing! One place was asking $249.00 for one night! For a room with 2 queen beds! WTH?? Anyway, we are looking at a smaller - more local zoo to take the girls to on Saturday.
WOO HOO to 5 days off!! I do hope you can unplug for a while each of those days, and not do work-work every day. Sounds like with your run on Friday and Ed's on Saturday you will be outside enjoying your time off!!
Sue: YAY for windows open, I come home and open things up, to warm it up in here! LOL It is always warmer outside than in this time of year. Tracy will sit with a throw over her, instead of opening windows! YAY for Simple Sunday, being productive and relaxing! LOL Well the purge isn't as "thorough" as I would have liked! The dumpster is filling up faster than I thought it would. So we are also keeping a few things - set aside - Patti has said she will have a tag sale this summer, so I will take some stuff down for that. I will say that I love the thought of the attic space being opened up again, so I can put more totes up there if needed. Same with the basement - a lot of odd lumber/wood has gone out, so that frees up space down there.
We got an email yesterday, that the bank has not made a decision on masks after the MA mandate is lifted. So we may or may not still be wearing masks at work.
Did Sarah and Josh GET vaccinated? I love that Kellen knows the deal! LOL

Oh, I came home last night feeling SO TIRED... I ended up falling asleep before 8 PM! WTH?? Then awake around 11, and tossed and turned the rest of the night! So this morning I need to throw my salad together for lunch. No biggie, Ken chopped everything yesterday, but I just don't feel like dealing with it! I will though... need my salad for a healthy lunch today - chicken fajitas tonight for dinner. (told Ken we have to use up the chicken in the fridge) I may have a carb balance wrap, or I may put it on a salad - we'll see my "mood" after work!
Today I have some training to do again, but it's OK - even though I do NOT like training people! However, while I am off, I hope that Emily is ready to do some stuff for me. It will take the stress off K, and some weeks my Foreign & Bonds get done (by Crystal) some weeks they don't! If Emily is trained, then it can be done, whether Crystal has time or not!
OK Must get moving now... need to WALK AWAY from the computer - LOL
♥hugs♥

Good Wednesday morning! The last few weeks have been such a whirlwind! As most of you know, we do have a baby. Sweet Eleanor is here and is weensie... she is 3 lbs 6 oz and just over 16 inches long. She did not have to be intubated, she did not need the nose canula ... she has needed no help with her breathing at all. The NICU nurses are doing a great job and she is getting plenty of nutrition from a feeding tube and breastmilk. She spent the day under the billi lights yesterday. She is almost able to regulate her own body temperature. She is doing great. We expect she may be in the hospital until the first weekend in June.
Emily came home after her 11 day hospital stay. She is sore from her c-section and her picc line but she is able to be at home and slept in her own bed. She is having to stay on some blood pressure meds for awhile but not all that she was on. Seriously ladies, it was touch and go for a little while.
I returned to work on Monday for state testing... so I will do all that I can to catch up but it may not be today. :/
Happy to have a little normal...

Good morning!
DOR today and got up a little early to do some work-work. I could have tried to do it last night, but decided to give my brain a break. I think that this current surge of work is going to be my life until mid-June---it is what it is and I will survive...just need to imagine life on the other side of it! I am glad to have running as an outlet though. Today I meet with the Superintendent to talk through the year. He is a busy guy so I am glad to have a snippet of his time (he set it up and is doing this with most leaders in the organization). I am feeling a little less control over my eating lately---I need to figure out an afternoon snack (around 3:00) to hold me through until dinner. I don't think that I am getting enough calories at lunch/breakfast and then I am starving as I arrive home for dinner. I thrive on routine and don't mind eating the same things, but need to find something lower in carbs to have in the afternoon. Maybe will spend 10 minutes or so this morning exploring that. Do you have any ideas? I am open to them!
Carole: Darn--sorry about the expensive hotels! I think we will be in that situation around here next weekend--most graduations happen around 5/28. A local zoo will be nice too. We have one nearby that has animals native to our area and there are plenty of them that you don't see often (which I am thankful for in some cases:) ) Regardless, it will be nice to be outside I am sure. Good job getting in your dots for movement! I love that you have your routine with the stairs. I have really been pushing lately to do some of my "meetings" as phone calls and I do loops around our buildings outside. I have to say that, since the pandemic, a lot more people in our organization are doing the walking and it is so much healthier for them. I am glad that Emily might be able to pick up some of your work when you are gone---one less thing for you to worry about! That sounds great. LOL, well, I think that I could probably fill two dumpsters around here....glad that you have Patti's sale as a back up! Hope that you have a wonderful day today!

Sue: Good morning and hope that work goes well for you! It sounds like you had some nice time over at Sarah's to visit with the family---and that things are feeling more normal now? You are a a braver woman than I...outside I have no issues with leaving my mask off, but I still feel some anxiety inside...it doesn't bother me that others don't have masks on (although most do), but I just feel better so will stick with it. Our Governor months ago said that June 15th will be the day and I think that he is sticking with it. Only two big vendors in CA have said no masks required--Trader Joes and Walmart. I do hope that it changes at your work though...wearing a mask all day at work would be tough! So glad that your mom is in TX with Jim and Annie--- it definitely sounds like the healthier thing for her.
Karen: Oh, Eleanor is just precious! I am so glad that Emily is now home and recovering. I hope that she is able to sleep and feel stronger? I know that it must be hard having Eleanor in the hospital (and certainly is not how she envisioned this happening) but what a little fighter Eleanor is! Another strong woman in your family! I am SO glad that your school year will be over soon and that you can REALLY enjoy her as she comes home.....congratulations!
Hello to Christine, Jenny, Shelly, Nadine, Jo, Lisa. and all who follow. It is supposed to cool down a lot today and tomorrow (highs in the 50's) but no rain . I am going to look for a good snack choice and then get moving---first meeting is at 7:30 am. Have a good day, ladies!

Evening all...another busy day of work today...productive too so all is well!! We have 4 MEAPS dropping this week but will say in pretty good shape otherwise. Tomorrow OT will be working on billing so no lugging boxes tomorrow!! Back to Monday to finish catching up....
Thanks for starting us off every day so far Carole...my mornings have been a bit scattered it seems....
Carole...glad you didn't beat yourself up over the non-tracked weekend...it's done so move and a new! I knew you would be "back on track" again once your work week began!! WOW...definitely sounds like the dumpster project is moving along...I'm sure Ken being home really helps the progress for sure!! A zoo trip on Saturday sounds like fun!! Hope it all works out for you and the girls!! LOL, I have only done the grocery store pick up twice and both times I was EXTREMELY disappointed with the produce....pick up is fine for some things but for me...I need to pick out my own produce and meats!!
Glad you have moving room in the attic now...it is amazing how fast stuff accumulates day to day!! I saw you opened the pool over the weekend...it was so clear!! That's a good thing...I know some years it's not that way!! I've done that with a roast too....no harm, you just postponed the pot roast dinner to another night! It is actually kind of nice that your phone tracks the carbs and the computer calories...they you at least have a comparison to see how you stack up all the way around!
Carole...glad you enjoyed the grinder....sometimes you just have to enjoy a treat!! You could have eaten the whole thing in one sitting, instead you only ate 1/2 and saved the other half for another day!! I do know the pizza we had on Monday for Jackson's party was so yummy!! I had 2 pieces on Monday and took 2 slices for leftover lunch on Tuesday!! Scale is still OK so no harm done!!
Well...things with Sarah are not "normal" yet, they are a bit more cordial. She still only corresponds with Jason and didn't even wish me Happy Mothers Day so I'm a bit hurt and it doesn't seem to bother her but I need to let it go. She did thank me for coming and treating to pizza for Jackson's birthday so that's a good thing...she still has some manner!

Gabrielle...WOW, long day for you on Monday!! Yes, we know you have days like that!! Hopefully you were able to finish up the plan you are working on....you are always there to help everyone else, time for you to focus on YOUR plan!
Yes indeed Gabrielle...it is nice to be "a year out" and enjoying times together with everyone!! It was so nice to get a hug from Pat on Sunday.....as I mentioned everyone in the house but Ryan (only 15) had been vaccinated but he is now 1/2 way there....he got his 1st shot on Tuesday!! They were able to quickly get an appointment when they opened the Pfizer up to 12-15 year olds. Yes, Gabrielle...I do love my shorts all summer....wish I could wear my flip-flops/sandals too but we have to wear closed toed shoes!
Carole...I did good walking away from my desk but did miss one dot today....I had plenty of steps thanks to destroyals and other things around the WH....I had over 3k steps before 7:30am! LOL!! The WH is very long!! Our office is on one end and we were working at the total opposite end this morning. Not to mention the fact it's wide and just walking down each aisle is a bunch of steps! So glad you have been able to get out and enjoy the nice weather and make a loop around the parking lot!! Take advantage when you can! Well Carole...you know when you are at home, you can get all your work done and still have time to do a few chores, walk a few loops, etc so when at work, you just don't have that opportunities so you notice the "down time"!! I will say, lack of work makes for a long afternoon...that is something I haven't had in MONTHS!! I know it's a good thing....job security but I could use a slow day to get a few of the things done that I have not been able to tackle!
Well Carole...sorry you had to shift your plans for the weekend but I know the girls will love the smaller, local zoo! LOL, why would Tracy not open the windows and let in the warmth?? Doesn't make sense in my brain! Sorry the purging isn't as thorough as you hoped...guess the dumpster wasn't quite big enough but hey, you will be able to make a few $$$ at the yard sale Patti has this summer...as long as it's gone, that's all that matters. Granted, holding onto it for a couple months is a pain! Oh no....falling asleep early, then tossing and turning the rest of the night...hate nights like that!
NO...Sarah and Josh are not vaccinated and this point, they are not planning on it!! Annoys me since Josh's parents are both compromised BIG TIME and that fact doesn't even enter into the equation. But then again, not sure if his parents are getting vaccinated either?? Not my choice and won't got there....I love that Kellen has heard bits and pieces and wants to be vaccinated....he truly is a sweetheart!
Karen...such awesome news about Eleanor...I saw Emily's post about 100% room air and that is great!! While she is tiny, she seems to be perfectly healthy! Medicine has come so far....I remember when my cousin Danny's son Henry was born at 25 + weeks....13.6 ounces, 14 inches long....he was so tiny and so far from being ready to arrive but now he's 20 years old, with only a few lingering issues but nothing that really slows him down! Eleanor will be growing like a weed and home before you know it! Really, home the 1st weekend in June is not too shabby....hopefully she soon can regulate her own them. I know how scary the last few weeks have been for everyone but look at all the blessings and goodness now!!
Gabrielle....yup, give the brain a break and start fresh in the morning! LOL...we know you always survive the spring chaos of the school year! Hope it's pretty uneventful and goes smoothly! How great your superintendent is reaching out and meeting with leaders at this point....sounds like he likes to be informed and up to date! Hopefully you find the perfect snack for the afternoon to tide you over w/o the "hungries" after work!
Time for some supper....think it will be leftover pork chop and some butternut or maybe asparagus. Will pack my lunch for tomorrow too so I just need to load my lunch box in the morning and won't need to portion it out!
Waves Jenny, Jo, Lisa, Nadine, Shelly and anyone I might have missed! Sweet dreams, see you all in the morning!

Well it’s been a while since Ive been able to get here again. I’m trying to make it a point to get out and play golf on ladies night so was our last Wednesday and tonight. Played ok but not great!! Decent for me. Got a walk in last night which I was pleased with my pace. Just under 20 min a mile and since this was only my 3rd walk since trying to find time I’ve improved each time I’ve walked. Between trying to watch the grandkids play ball and now golf getting walks in has been a little bit of a challenge. Last week I wasn’t feeling the beat so didn’t walk last week. Baby steps right?
Anyway I wanted to stop in and say hi. Haven’t been keeping up to good but I assume if I can get her I will get caught up. Sorry I can’t catch up tonight. Will try to come back soon.
