This thread is for all of us who have been on the weight loss merry-go-round quite a few times. We have banded together to make this our FINAL time. We offer support & motivation, WEIGHT LOSS TIPS, food ideas – whatever you need to make it your FINAL time. If you start the day’s thread, please copy and paste this paragraph, with the following 2021 Goals:
Carole: 1.) Journal Daily, thoughts, feelings, ideas 2.) Track daily, Good, Bad, Ugly, HONESTLY 3.) Move every day, 10-30 minutes, as able 4.) Limit/Reduce Alcohol, All of it! 5.) Be thankful for something - every day.
Gabrielle 1. Wellness--take steps each day to address better wellness (moving, attention to my eating, getting sleep, etc.) 2. Debt-- continue to take steps to eliminate debt (including the kids college debt that we are covering) so that I have no debt when I retire. 3. Connectedness-- each month have a plan to stay connected to those who I care about (maybe dinner once/month after COVID, Zoom, phone calls, etc.) 4. Creativity -- seek out projects that keep me using the creative side of my brain (knitting, paint parties?, etc.) 5. Journaling/Self-Awareness--find a way to journal my thoughts and to think through challenges and opportunities
Sue: 1. Get moving - plan to utilize my Cubii 3-5 times per week at least 2. Moderation - limiting junk, snacks, wine and all things I know that sabotage my success 3. Daily Gratitude - continue our November daily gratitude. 4. Start a journal - my "Life & Apples" journal will arrive later in the week. 5. Be more "present" - in life, in my journey, with family & friends, in all aspects of my world.
Jenny 1) I'm moving to a clean eating plan like more veggie dishes and less red meat 2) I pulled out my Bob Harper from the Biggest Loser's " Yoga for weight loss DVD" and do that in the evening since it's pouring down rain here. 3) Cut way back on the wine at nights, they sell those tiny little bottles that have 5oz in them and limit myself to only 1-2 per day, that can work right? 4) Track everything even if I'm in the negatives and hold myself accountable
Christine: 1. Cardio exercise daily (walk, stationary bike) 2. FOLLOW the WW Plan using Honesty. 3. Daily gratitude - Say something NICE each morning
Karen: 1. Take one step at a time and be kind to myself. 2. Move by getting my kayak on the water at least one day per week... it will be more as the weather warms. 3. Stick to my intermittent fasting schedule. 4. Try to sleep reasonably.
Shelly: 1. Be more organized at work. Never leave with stuff on my desk 2. Be there for people when they need someone to lean on 3. Stick with WW plan!!! No matter what!!!! 4. Be a better influence on those around me.

Good morning!
It is chilly today--we have a short cold spell for the next couple of days and it is barely 40 degrees now. I wish that rain was included, but not this time. We did have a small fire that was quickly extinguished yesterday (near one of our schools in the county)....just the beginning of things I think. I am leaving soon to run with our group--it will be good to get the fresh air. Today I am thankful for having a retirement to look forward to after so many years of working--to know that it will be sustainable and that DH and will have time to enjoy the world around is a great feeling and I am so grateful.
So, I didn't really find the "perfect" afternoon snack, but I did bring some cottage cheese to have later in the afternoon and then I had some almonds after I got home...we didn't eat until late since I didn't even leave work until 6:00 pm (really long day) --- I do need to finish my tracking though. I will keep working on it!
Sue: I didn't realize that things were still so strained with Sarah that she wouldn't tell you Happy Mother's Day! I am sorry that it continues. I am glad though that you have the boys that you still see and spend time with. Yay for Gloria moving back on June 1!! That is right around the corner! That will make going to work so much more enjoyable for you---I am glad that your work now is less stress on your back too! Hope that you have a great day today!
Shelly: Good to see you and YAHOO for golfing with the girls and getting some walks in! I would think that the longer days would help. Hope that DH is well as well as the boys and their families.
Okay, need to get a move on. Have a good day--late night tonight so I am looking forward to Friday!!

Good morning ~ Thanks for starting us off today Sue. Thankful Thursday, thankful for a day off today, to help Ken with the last of a few things around here! I just decided last night to take the day - called out this morning ~ doesn't truly impact anyone, so it's all good. Thankful to sleep in a bit today too - for some reason I a just feeling so darned TIRED all the time. I wonder if it's the med? I worked myself up to the full dose, but I may take it back down to the "middle" dose.
Karen: So MUCH to be thankful for with your Emily and Eleanor ♥ So glad they are both healing and doing well.
Gabrielle: Glad you had a DOR so you could do some work yesterday morning. Sorry you have so much going on these days ~ but you seem to thrive with it all! Hmmm, a late afternoon snack... celery with peanut butter? I personally don't like that, but some folks do! Do you add protein to your salads at lunch? I always have chicken and/or HB Egg.
My yesterday went great! I even walked up to CVS on my break! It's only about .65 mile, so it's a short walk, but it was good for some extra steps.
Sue: WOO HOO For Gloria coming back on the 1st!!! YAY for OT not involving heavy boxes too!! Oh dear - sorry Sarah is still holding the grudge! Sorry you didn't even get a Happy MD wish But glad you set it aside for Jackson's celebration. Oh yeah, for sure, I still notice down time even at home - but yes it is so much more tiring when I just sit in the office!!
LOL No - if I take stuff to Patti's Tag Sale, she can keep anything she gets for my stuff! I will not be there either - I will offer to take Zoë so Patti (and Kathy) can deal with the "sale"! LOL
Shelly: YAY to being out there golfing and walking! Yes a 20 min mile is a good pace. That's what I aim for when I am walking. I wore the wrong shoes yesterday, so my walk to CVS wasn't as "good" as it could be! LOL

Sue: Enjoy your "easier" OT today, and your weather!
Gabrielle: Enjoy the cooler morning run today - sorry no rain. Well your days don't seem to be getting any shorter. I like almonds, but 1 serving (1 oz) just doesn't cut it for me! OH cottage cheese, what about dipping celery or cucumber in it? Add a crunch!
Mornin' Karen ☼
OK Time to get moving here... already 61 degrees, and sunny - so I WILL open some windows around here for a while. Later we may have to close them as it will get too warm in here for Ken! LOL
I will use my free day to help finish getting the stuff into the dumpster, and get a few chores done. As long as I am home, I can do the laundry and dishes - I think it will help me to feel better overall - if my house is not such a chaotic mess!!
♥hugs♥

Just got this.....
May 19, 2021 TO: SPA Employees FROM: Paul Bozuwa DATE: May 19, 2021 RE: Update Regarding Masking Requirements
On Friday, May 14 we sent out a memo stating that SPA would continue to enforce the masking requirement until we had an opportunity to evaluate what obligations we might have from OSHA and other regulatory agencies. Effective today, you may remove your masks at work whenever you are able to maintain safe social distancing from others. This means that all employees, vaccinated or not, must continue to wear masks when you are not able to remain physically distant (at least 6 feet away) from others. Of course, if you are more comfortable wearing your mask/face covering all the time, you may certainly continue to do so.
Masking guidance remains very fluid, and we are following the state executive orders, CDC, and OSHA guidance closely. As stated last week, Pennsylvania is following the 70 percent vaccination rule which states that masking requirements and other COVID safety protocols will remain in place until 70 percent of Pennsylvanians over the age of 18 are fully vaccinated. As soon as 70 percent of Pennsylvanians have been fully vaccinated, we expect that the PA Department of Health will completely lift these COVID prevention requirements. If you have not yet had an opportunity to do so, we encourage you to think about getting vaccinated, which will allow everyone to unmask sooner. Thank you for your cooperation! We will continue to keep you updated as things change.

Evening all...it's a warm one here in Glenville and same on tap through the weekend....91° when I came out of work today!!! Bright sun, light breeze...just gorgeous!!
Shelly....so glad you got a chance to pop in and let us know how you are doing!! So glad you are making time for walks and golfing with the ladies!! Every little bit of activity helps for sure!! Enjoy the time watching the grands play ball...they are only little once so you don't want to miss out! Hope to see you again soon!!
Gabrielle...WOW, it was 62° when I got up at 5:00am...big change from just a few weeks ago!! We too need some rain here...we got some and the water table is coming up but not near enough!! Glad the fire was contained and out quickly!! Yes, fire season is scary and seems to be starting earlier and earlier each year or is it just me?? Glad you and Ed are feeling comfortable about your retirement coming in the not too distant future...how many more years to you have?? I'm still a little over 4 years....4 years, 1 month and 12 days!! I know you'll find the perfect snack combo for later in the afternoon...keep up the great work on tracking!!
Yes, things are still strained with Sarah but I can't dwell on it. She knows I'm here and always will be so it's her choice to be distant. It just made my heart so happy when we arrived and the boys came running with hugs and "I love yous"!! LOL, yes Gabrielle, only 6 more working days w/o Gloria!! Can't wait to all be back together and have my "Tonya buffer" back in house!!
Well, the "easy on the back OT" was only today....back to destroyals tomorrow!! I enjoyed the break!! I will say, for as much lifting & lugging I have done, the back has held up really well but I have been very cautious to NOT lift anything too heavy or awkward. Not taking any chances!
Hey Karen....saw you runny through!!
Carole...so glad you got to take today off to help Ken finish up with dumpster project. I know you mentioned earlier in the week you wish you had take a few days off this week with Ken on vacation as well! Not sure what med you are on, but I have been on a couple in the past and none of them made me sleepy but it could be part of it. Might want to ask the doctor?? Did you notice it was worse as you increased the dosage?? I love celery and PB for a snack....as a matter of fact, I had it today!! LOL!
LOL Carole...I figured you would just let Patti keep the $$ from items you send over for the yard sale but I didn't know if they were just little things that would bring a dollar or two or a couple bigger items that would bring a decent price even at a yard sale! I'm sure that Patti and Kathy will appreciate you having Zoe that day so they don't have to worry about her that day!
Waves to everyone else I missed...hope all are doing well and taking a bit of time for themselves!!
