Good morning and Happy Monday!
All crafters are welcome here as we discuss crafting, life and our weight loss journey. Crafting includes actual hands on crafting, such as crochetting, knitting, sewing, quilting, needlepoint, painting, jewelry making, etc.....plus reading craft catalogs, craft blogs, watching craft you tubes or other crafting videos, chatting here about crafting, chatting with another person about crafting, reading craft emails, thinking about crafting, organizing crafting supplies, going into craft stores or the craft aisle in a store , attending craft fairs,or any other activity that inspires or directs your mind toward a crafting activity- even visiting us here to join in our posts!! There are plenty of days in which the closest we get to crafting is a visit here, so even if you have no time to craft, we would love to hear from you. We welcome newcomers to our friendly discussion! So glad you are here!! Please feel free to stop in and say hello!!

Been quiet here today ! Not sure how much longer I will last staying awake. Last night outside my window I was entertained by a fox and a racoon fight. It was loud and I was unable to fall asleep after that. I did get up and look with a flashlight but by the time I did so, the two warring parties had dispersed. The fight did wake up my kitten however, who was more than amused by it.
I forget what I said yesterday- but I did get the binding sewn, ironed and clipped in to start. I have to be awake to sew that, and will wait till tomorrow or Wednesday to take care of that. Stupid me, I was near JC Penney this afternoon and forgot to make the return that I have. Hope I can remember to return that item tomorrow. Its cold here- which I love. Feels good to have my long pjâs on.
Have a good night all Ginny

Happy Monday to you also.
Since it was nice weather...not to hot nor too cold,, but too windy to work in the yard... I worked in the garage some. We've ordered a lot of the things we've needed during the pandemic so have a lot of boxes. It's amazing how fast they build up. Dh usually breaks some down everytime it's trash pickup day but we still have a lot so I broke some more down. Then went through a few things and got rid of some things. There's still a LOT to do. There's a lot of things I need to take to Goodwill also as we don't use them anymore but they're too good to throw away. CAme in, had my shower and am now ready to crochet. Before I started in the garage I did what has, I guess, become my real hobby and that is to look at even more crochet patterns and even a couple quilt patterns
I hope all of you had a good day and will have a good evening as well.

Good Morning!! Phyl- hope that you can make it downstairs and spend some time with your machine. What will you be working on next?
Ruth- think we all ordered a lot of stuff during the height of the pandemic. I am so thankful that it seems as though we are, as a nation, doing well against it- my heart goes out to Japan and India where I hear the virus is still a big problem. Glad you were able to get to work in the garage- its nice to be able to clean an area up and donate items to Goodwill. Have you found any new crochet patterns you want to take on?? Guess you are working on the second pocket shawl.
Have a great day. BBL

Phyl, I hope you are feeling better after your dental procedure and were able to get in some machine time.
Ginny, I hope you have a good day.Yes I think that most people have ordered online but I do know a few people that won't order anything online. I've never had a problem and that's what those people have told me they worry about. I'm still working on that second pocket shell since I haven't spent a lot of time on it and next will be the things that youngest dgd asked for.
Today my dgd #3 will have labor induced. She's had a terrible pregnancy so I hope labor goes well and she and the baby are healthy.

oh and I meant to say that Taiwan is also having an upsurge in covid cases and their govt has pretty much shut everything down. The Taiwanese have always been extremely careful after their experience with SARS a number of years ago. Grandaughter in law tutors so she can do it online but dgs cannot work because of that and also because he had some kind of medical problem not related to coronavirus.
I forgot to bring my other laptop upstairs with me and although I don't get much email I have a habit of checking it first thing every day so I miss that.

Ruth- will keep your Dgd in prayer - her little one too! I had no idea that this pregnancy had been so difficult. Hope labor goes well for her and that she is feeling well again very soon. My DSIL will not order anything online- I order for her and have it shipped to them.
Decent day of babysitting. The little guy is teething so he is a bit clingy but not unpleasant. Dgd and I made a bday cake for Dd as her bday is coming up. Dgd was fun to cook with . That might be my crafting for the day!

Thank you for the prayer, Ginny. Yes for some reason she's had constant nausea and a lot of pain throughout this pregnancy and asked to be induced because she's hoping that will end the problems she's had.
I'm glad your babysitting went ok. Teething babies can be a real challenge for all involved. Cooking and baking with grandchildren really is a lot of fun and your dd will love the cake
Pretty much all my time since I posted earlier has been spent wrapping and packing gifts. It's about time too because these birthdays were in Feb and March. They don't have anymore birthdays now until the last part of August so this will be fun for them as I put a little gift in for the unbirthdays too but I've mentioned that before. They'll have a good time. Now to get to the post office.Won't be till next week probably

Ruth that is a big relief getting the package off to the post office whenever you do get there! its a lot of work wrapping and marking gifts- it sure takes a lot of time. Keep us posted on DGD....some women are sick during the entire pregnancy (My DD#1 was for most of her pregnancies). And yes, once the baby is born, all her discomfort should disappear. Prayers for a healthy little one and mamma feeling great again. G

Thank you again Ginny. they called my dgd and told her that OB is entirely full so they changed her induction time to 7am and will call her if they get an opening earlier but I doubt they will. They'd know if someone was going home.Lots of babies are being born now and next month. Seems like a very large number of people in the crochet groups have been talking about family members and friends having babies in these two months. Nine months ago people were home a lot because of the pandemic. On the other hand, they're always enlarging OB here. I guess they'll have to do so again if this keeps up

Hello Everyone Ruth - I hope everything goes well for your DGD and the baby. Ginny - I'm glad your day of babysitting wasn't too bad. Phyl - Hope you made it to your sewing machine today or will this week. Sue - Hope you are well. I gave in and set up my air conditioners yesterday. It was just so hot in the house and I had trouble sleeping. Of course once I did the house cooled down But tomorrow is supposed to be in the 90s, so it will be hot again. I started cutting some of the fabric for a few projects, but didn't get much further than that. I also pulled out two small pieces that I had machine quilted and I'm going to try to put the binding on them. I've been watching a bunch of videos on machine binding (with no hand sewing) and I'm going to try that. Hopefully I'll get them done and then I might try to get more of the quilts I've already machine quilted finished with binding over the summer. Take care everyone!

GOOD MORNING, Last night quilt guild's program was boring.the lady is local, lives in West Salem about 10 miles from here. she has a company called noodlehead guess you can find her on Facebook..
Her voice was so low even with a mike I COULD HARDLY HER, I was sitting in front. Talked to the president and she did not know what to do with the mike.I know you can turn the mike up.Barbra told PAM it is not the mike, they need to turn the pa system
all she showed was bags, and she did have some things for sale. only a few quilters looked at her stuff and bought.
not sure if I will make it to the sewing area today.might go with Don to the grocery store today.
JUNE 3RD,we will be starting up our sew days again.not at the quilt shop, that shop has not reopened. so we will meet at the place we did a couple of years afo.there was a sew day when we went to the wedding. the girls said they don't care if the quilt shop opened again or not. we have other quilt shops and places to get together. have a nice day. phyl

Phyl, that's one reason I don't attend things like that. I never can hear the person that's speaking. I imagine there are plenty of stores in you area where you can buy fabric and all the essentials you need for quilting and knitting
Well now they've put my dgd off until 7pm this evening. We'll see what happens as that time gets closer
