Welcome to the Clutter Patrol, formerly CLUTTERBUSTERS thread. We are a daily thread, Monday thru Friday, and we have a combined weekend edition Saturday and Sunday. We welcome new members and are a friendly, helpful and supportive group.
Our purpose is for support and sharing of tips and strategies in dealing with weight and clutter issues in our lives. Many feel that the two are often tied together. So, we will lend a caring ear, and hopefully give and learn tips to help all of us.
We want to remove at least 5 items or spend at least 15 minutes clutter busting today!
Remember, it didn't pile up in one day so it isn't going away in a day either. One organizer says: you don't have to stop everything to get organized, you just have to start somewhere.

Good morning,
Didn’t get around to posting yesterday. I needed some Retail Therapy so I decided to go to the mall and at least walk around. I hadn’t been to the mall in almost a year and it half. So many stores just aren’t there anymore. Sad.
I did pick up a cute dress to wear to the bridal shower next month. I decided to buy something out of my comfort zone. The dress is sleeveless, and knee length. I usually look for short sleeves and mid-calf length. It’s an olive green and white print.
I called dietician and have an appointment in July. She does specialize in diabetes management and also intuitive eating. I’ve stopped eating by the clock and rely more on eating when I’m hungry. Hoping she can help me with making sure I’m getting enough nutrients during the day.
Looks like we’re finally getting some rain today. Skies are getting dark, there’s a good breeze too. Hopefully it will be a slow soaker.
Ruth - glad to hear your blood work came back ok. I didn’t realize your back was giving you so much pain. Hoping X-ray doesn’t show anything more than arthritis. We can compare notes when we both start seeing a dietician. I’m going to my WW meeting today. Still just basically losing .2 or .4 when I lose, mostly just stay the same. I need more activity, walking just isn’t enough.
Dottie - registering for that conference sounded like a ‘pain’. Glad you got that done. How long is the conference? Glad you enjoyed catching up with old friend.
Martha - sounds like your keeping busy. Always enjoy getting (((hugs))).
I need to go to Dollar Store today pick up a couple of covered cake pans. I’m baking cupcakes for one of the guys for his birthday tomorrow. He’s the guy that fixed my dryer a while back. When I baked cupcakes for his son’s birthday he laughed and told me when his birthday was - I didn’t forget.
Tomorrow is trash day. Adding a small bag of stuff from the basement.
Enjoy your day

Joyce, I know what you mean about stores closing. So many have closed in the little strip malls by my house. Some of the stores are open but for shorter hours because they can’t get enough help and yet the unemployment rate in Connecticut is still quite high. I know it is probably not the job that some people want but at least it would be a start to get back in the work force. I’m sure the guy will appreciate you making the cupcakes. I’ll be gone for a week, I’m not attending the conference but helping in the office (a complete office is set up during the conference) and being a gofer for things that need to be delivered, etc. I really enjoy the opportunity to do this each year, the pay isn’t bad and the hotel is always a 5 star hotel, very nice.
Ruth, it sounds like you had a very good visit with your doctor and she had some good suggestions. I have had good luck with PT. Once for my back over 20 years ago and just last year for my knees, both times good outcome. Hope there isn’t any damage except arthritis in your back, not that arthritis isn’t a major problem. I’m sure the nutritionist will have some good ideas for you; I know there are some foods that make inflammation worse, so that is good to work on that. Mental fatigue is a real problem and hopefully the things you mentioned about DSs surgery and job and Mara in pre-school will help those issues. I think it would be wonderful for Mara to have a chance to be with children her age and also a great help for when she starts school.
Martha, hope you are having a good week at work. How did the installation go on Monday, did they get everything done in one day?
I just heard the weather report for the weekend. Not a great report, possible rain and cool weather for all three days. I’m sure the kids won’t be in the water if the temp is only in the 60s. I really let some of the house cleaning go while I was concentrating on the CBing. We were so busy on getting rid of things that the cleaning hasn’t happened since we got home. I mean the kitchen and bathrooms are okay but the rest of the place needs a good cleaning. I can’t work all day on a project like I used to so if I do some cleaning each day it should be back to normal next week. An appraiser is coming next week, for the home equity loan. That is a good reason to get things looking better. Also on Tuesday afternoon we can drop off all the boxes of stuff that we are donating to the church. I think we are up to 6 boxes. I’m heading to a friends’ house for lunch on her deck. There will be 5 of us, so good to get together with people. We have another load to put out at the curb tonight for bulk pick-up.

(((HUGS)))
I'm sleepy. I can't take a nap as I have to work. I think it will be earlier to bed tonight for me.
Furnace/water heater - Yes, they got it done in ONE day. Usually 2 workers come but they were able to get a third person to join them. Am loving both. Work - I had asked about extending assignment. Well, found out that it can't be extended. State has a maximum per calendar year - 1040 hrs / 6 months. January 1st starts the clock back at zero (that is how come I was able to continue working) I don't know what I will be doing come the first of July. Haven't thought that far ahead yet. Have thoughts tumbling around in my head - do i want to stay with temp agency? Apply out. Part or Full time? etc. And of course, need to talk to DH and see what his input would be.
(((HUGS))) it's back to work time....
Hugs
