This thread is for all of us who have been on the weight loss merry-go-round quite a few times. We have banded together to make this our FINAL time. We offer support & motivation, WEIGHT LOSS TIPS, food ideas – whatever you need to make it your FINAL time. If you start the day’s thread, please copy and paste this paragraph, with the following 2021 Goals:
Carole: 1.) Journal Daily, thoughts, feelings, ideas 2.) Track daily, Good, Bad, Ugly, HONESTLY 3.) Move every day, 10-30 minutes, as able 4.) Limit/Reduce Alcohol, All of it! 5.) Be thankful for something - every day.
Gabrielle 1. Wellness--take steps each day to address better wellness (moving, attention to my eating, getting sleep, etc.) 2. Debt-- continue to take steps to eliminate debt (including the kids college debt that we are covering) so that I have no debt when I retire. 3. Connectedness-- each month have a plan to stay connected to those who I care about (maybe dinner once/month after COVID, Zoom, phone calls, etc.) 4. Creativity -- seek out projects that keep me using the creative side of my brain (knitting, paint parties?, etc.) 5. Journaling/Self-Awareness--find a way to journal my thoughts and to think through challenges and opportunities
Sue: 1. Get moving - plan to utilize my Cubii 3-5 times per week at least 2. Moderation - limiting junk, snacks, wine and all things I know that sabotage my success 3. Daily Gratitude - continue our November daily gratitude. 4. Start a journal - my "Life & Apples" journal will arrive later in the week. 5. Be more "present" - in life, in my journey, with family & friends, in all aspects of my world.
Jenny 1) I'm moving to a clean eating plan like more veggie dishes and less red meat 2) I pulled out my Bob Harper from the Biggest Loser's " Yoga for weight loss DVD" and do that in the evening since it's pouring down rain here. 3) Cut way back on the wine at nights, they sell those tiny little bottles that have 5oz in them and limit myself to only 1-2 per day, that can work right? 4) Track everything even if I'm in the negatives and hold myself accountable
Christine: 1. Cardio exercise daily (walk, stationary bike) 2. FOLLOW the WW Plan using Honesty. 3. Daily gratitude - Say something NICE each morning
Karen: 1. Take one step at a time and be kind to myself. 2. Move by getting my kayak on the water at least one day per week... it will be more as the weather warms. 3. Stick to my intermittent fasting schedule. 4. Try to sleep reasonably.
Shelly: 1. Be more organized at work. Never leave with stuff on my desk 2. Be there for people when they need someone to lean on 3. Stick with WW plan!!! No matter what!!!! 4. Be a better influence on those around me.

Morning Carole and all to come...
My day was similar to yours Carole...just a bunch of puttering around the house, getting little things done!
Didn't leave the house and won't today either! Weather is miserable, cold, raw and rainy! Baseball tournament finally got cancelled for the weekend, hopefully will be rescheduled for a weekend we are home so can got then!! Will shop tomorrow morning when the weather warms up and rains come to an end. Hannah will call to FaceTime later today since she knows her dad will want to be outside tomorrow after 2 days without any time outside. We could hit a record for the lowest "high" of the day....if we don't go over 56° for the day, which is expected, we will have taken the record for the coldest 5/30!! Not a record I'm excited to break! LOL!!
Seems everyone is busy with year end school stuff, holiday activities and just life in general!!
Time to grab another cup of coffee and pay some bills!

Good morning!
Glad to be here this morning with time to check in. I had Thursday and Friday "off work" and Friday was my long run day--ended up leaving the house at 4:30 am to meet the person I was running with....got home and had two Zooms...then helped DH get ready for his big practice run (which was yesterday)...I feel like I had no time to check in here! Then, yesterday, left the house at 4:45 am and got home about 10:00 pm last night. Wow, these are "days off" I am hoping for a much slower day today. DH's big run yesterday was good practice as it was about 90 and he needs to be ready for the heat. He found out that he is not doing the greatest job with hydration and it starts pretty early in the run. So, by the time he gets to 50 miles or so, he is not in a good place. Good to know and he had 4 weeks to fix it. He had asked me to meet him at the bottom of a 2.5 mile hill at the end of his run so that I could hike up it with him. I did jog down to the bottom of the hill, then wound up going backwards on the course to find him...when I did, he said that he was feeling so terrible that he couldn't make it up the hill....he needed me to get the car and drive down to get him and he felt awful--told me that he was having trouble breathing. So....I ran/power walked up that hill. WOW, it was HARD. Anyway, I was able to drive down and get him and he is still working through it this morning. So, this morning he weighs 139 lbs. I have told you all about my concerns with his eating, etc. I am reserving it all for after the 100 mile run. Enough about all of that. I hope that today is more of a ME day...we will see!
Carole: I know that hamburger and hotdog buns fly off the shelves around here on Memorial Day, 4th of July, and Labor Day...I hope that you found some! I am sorry about the weather today. It probably feels good though to be back in the routine of Sunday family dinners though? I feel like you and Ken are the "glue" that holds all of that together! Oh, smart Bob to meet the two of you alone (he knows who the REAL IMPORTANT people are). I look forward to hearing your thoughts! I am also glad to hear that you and Jasmina have made the decision that once/month will work fine. I am so glad that you have that trip to TX planned -- it will be nice to get away! I am getting back on my tracking wagon today...I actually tracked most of what I ate a few days last week. I have lately just felt like it is so busy and pulled in so many directions. Need to feel like that I have that ONE thing under control! So, DH just told me that we are driving back to the canyons for a "2-hour" hike---so, I guess I don't have today. Oh well!

Sue: Wow, that sounds so cold! Sorry about that...but at the same time, it might be nice to be "puttering", right? I hope so! Sounds like Jason might get some time outside tomorrow which will be nice too. I am sorry about Kris. I have a friend who is in a family with 7 brothers and herself. She is also the 2nd to the youngest. It was always the case (until she passed away) that the mom expected my friend to be the one who took care of her and everything else....we have talked about it and we think it is because she is the girl in the family and the one who would talk to her mom, etc. Do you think that Kris just "expects" more from you since you are the sister or you are the one that she thinks really has it together? I know that it doesn't take aways away the pain of it all, but I wonder. Hope that you have a nice day today!
Jenny: Did you get away to the beach with the family? I hope so! Sounds like such a nice thing to do.
Karen: Yay for the end of the school year! I saw where you were saying goodbye to your classroom of many years---that really is a bittersweet feeling. I am sure that many new memories are ready to be made in the new room--and it will be SO nice when the school year starts to have that fresh, new room! I hope that you now have some time with Eleanor and are there to be part of the transition home. It is pretty soon, isn't it? What a great time to have some days off!
Hello to Christine, Shelly, and all who follow. I guess I better get ready to go. See you all tomorrow.

Impossible Strawberry/Rhubarb Pie in the oven....next in will be shortcake for some Strawberry Shortcake before the season is over...then some roasted sweet potatoes for the week. Tomorrow we will have the usual Memorial Day cookout...just the two of us but still...nothing better than grilled burgers & hot dogs.
Jason is in the process of putting the hangers on a couple of the wooden paintings I've done. Will finally get to hang the couples one we did over Valentine's Day weekend. For some reason it warped and I had to have Lacey fix it for me...between me getting it to her, then her fitting it in to her schedule it took a while to get it back. She had to totally dismantle it w/o breaking anything, then figuring out how to put it back together again so it lined up, stayed fairly flat and not on the painting got ruined. She's the best!! Have had it for a few weeks but with the busy garden spring it got put on the back burner until this rainy weekend!! Can't wait to get it hung!!
Don't feel much like doing anything today...will get the laundry done today so tomorrow will be pretty much chore free. Plan to swap out the spring pictures for the summer ones at some point tomorrow!! Will also change the bow on top of the tree to the Red/White/Blue one I bought for the summer months.
Going back to early in the week and see what I missed...it has been one of those week that I just needed to "unplug" and get away from screens. With 4 MEAPS in one week and no break from staring at a computer screen entering orders, the last thing I wanted to do when I got home was look at a computer again. Have 4 more MEAPS coming in the next week...will l likely come into one on Tuesday and the next two will drop Wednesday, Thursday or Friday....Tonya is staggering the timing she enters them so hopefully they all drop on their own day and not two together. I see many long days ahead. All 4 coming up are ALL bigger then the biggest one I did this week. Might even be working on Saturday to get finished.
Carole...yes, I remember that your strawberry season starts about when ours is ending...here they start shortly after Mother's Day and by mid-May they are over. LOL...I always push off any updates until the end of the day too...they always cause issues with my system and I don't have time to deal with them during the day! Of course there were glitches with the new PC....I would have been shocked if there wasn't any!! Sounds like the Grandpa/Zoe day was perfect. Yes, they do make us tired but it's a happy tired! So glad Tracy had a nice time with Bob's family. I'm thinking that being 8 days after 2nd vaccine, he's pretty safe at this point. I was only 8 days after mine too when we went to TX. I'm sure it will be nice to get your injections on an "in work" week....definitely saves the extra trip to Greenfield. Hopefully it will not be an issue to move to right before your TX trip!
Gabrielle...hopefully the "sore" did indeed work itself out. I do hope you can get all the necessary work done so you can fully enjoy your long weekend! Yes, stopping at the store on the way home after work does make for a late day....I do it occasionally but would prefer to just make an extra trip on the weekend. Sometimes I do if I only have a couple things to get. The "foot step" tradition sounds kind of fun!!
Jenny...this was supposed to be the beach trip weekend, right?? Hope you have better weather than we do. So many people around here head to the shore for Memorial Day weekend and this is NOT beach weather on the east coast....we are still in the upper 40's and it's 3:00pm. Glad you got the unexpected "detour" on your way to work Tuesday...I know how you love the Elk Plant! I think the Wolf Creek Inn sounds like an awesome getaway. We spent a week in Redmond OR in 2000 when Hannah had Nationals in Tacoma....we got a timeshare in Redmond and did lots of road trips to places like Silver Falls Park, Crater Lake and several others. Redmond is right in the middle of the state I think so it was the perfect place to stay and get to so many things within a couple hours.
Gloria should be back on Tuesday we hope!! Have to coordinate IT and maintenance to get the stuff moved and hooked back up. Will still need to "deal" with Tonya but with two of us who she knows both feel the same way about her stalling tactics and constant chatter, she tends to be a bit quieter.
LOL Jenny...here is the recipe for Rhubarb Sauce.....chop as much as you have in 1" pieces , put in a sauce pan with a TINY bit of water, just enough to barely cover the bottom of the pan. Cook on medium until it breaks down....add sugar to taste. We always throw in some strawberries too if we have them...we both love the combo and I add those after it comes off the stove.
Carole...seems you are still picking up the slack for lack of training in your old team. Hopefully that won't last much longer. So glad you managed a mani/pedi!! Yes, the heat really can knock me out too...especially when you aren't used to it and it goes from 50 to almost 90 overnight....that's what has been happening here lately....it's like a ping pong ball...up, down, up down...we didn't ease from winter to summer we went from one extreme to another! So glad the meds really are helping to level out your mood/emotions...that's a good thing! Gotta love Ken's thoughtfulness bringing you home the corn dog and fried dough. You shared, not what you planned but it was sweet! Maybe the fried stuff did effect you sleep...I know I don't always sleep when when I eat out of my norm.
OK...pie is out of the oven and short cake will be soon....yes, we are having Strawberry Shortcake for an early supper....don't do it often but it's yummy!! Can't wait. Hannah will likely call around 4:00pm so depending on how long we chat, may or may not be back....
Hope all are having a great Sunday!
