This thread is for all of us who have been on the weight loss merry-go-round quite a few times. We have banded together to make this our FINAL time. We offer support & motivation, WEIGHT LOSS TIPS, food ideas – whatever you need to make it your FINAL time. If you start the day’s thread, please copy and paste this paragraph, with the following 2021 Goals:
Carole: 1.) Journal Daily, thoughts, feelings, ideas 2.) Track daily, Good, Bad, Ugly, HONESTLY 3.) Move every day, 10-30 minutes, as able 4.) Limit/Reduce Alcohol, All of it! 5.) Be thankful for something - every day.
Gabrielle 1. Wellness--take steps each day to address better wellness (moving, attention to my eating, getting sleep, etc.) 2. Debt-- continue to take steps to eliminate debt (including the kids college debt that we are covering) so that I have no debt when I retire. 3. Connectedness-- each month have a plan to stay connected to those who I care about (maybe dinner once/month after COVID, Zoom, phone calls, etc.) 4. Creativity -- seek out projects that keep me using the creative side of my brain (knitting, paint parties?, etc.) 5. Journaling/Self-Awareness--find a way to journal my thoughts and to think through challenges and opportunities
Sue: 1. Get moving - plan to utilize my Cubii 3-5 times per week at least 2. Moderation - limiting junk, snacks, wine and all things I know that sabotage my success 3. Daily Gratitude - continue our November daily gratitude. 4. Start a journal - my "Life & Apples" journal will arrive later in the week. 5. Be more "present" - in life, in my journey, with family & friends, in all aspects of my world.
Jenny 1) I'm moving to a clean eating plan like more veggie dishes and less red meat 2) I pulled out my Bob Harper from the Biggest Loser's " Yoga for weight loss DVD" and do that in the evening since it's pouring down rain here. 3) Cut way back on the wine at nights, they sell those tiny little bottles that have 5oz in them and limit myself to only 1-2 per day, that can work right? 4) Track everything even if I'm in the negatives and hold myself accountable
Christine: 1. Cardio exercise daily (walk, stationary bike) 2. FOLLOW the WW Plan using Honesty. 3. Daily gratitude - Say something NICE each morning
Karen: 1. Take one step at a time and be kind to myself. 2. Move by getting my kayak on the water at least one day per week... it will be more as the weather warms. 3. Stick to my intermittent fasting schedule. 4. Try to sleep reasonably.
Shelly: 1. Be more organized at work. Never leave with stuff on my desk 2. Be there for people when they need someone to lean on 3. Stick with WW plan!!! No matter what!!!! 4. Be a better influence on those around me.

Good Morning - Memorial Day Monday and I'm hoping everyone gets a day OFF or a much more relaxed pace of a day! I have taken a break from report writing this weekend. Something had to give...and I do not feel guilty for relaxing! lol Had a very productive day yesterday - after picking up groceries and prepping dinner (pulled pork in crockpot) I headed out to my yard to get areas weeded, sticks picked up, trim back some areas, and finish the Spring clean-up. Carly and Ben needed some help sorting through the basement storage for Carly's apartment things - found plenty of pots/pans, dishes, silverware, and 'stuff' for everyday living. Her stress levels decreased! She was having 2 AM racing thoughts that she had nothing for this new apartment move - although she has TIME! She's not moving until July! Geesh...lol I picked up some flowers to plant around the house and deck. Then my friend Cindy (from Fulton Co) called for a last minute get together at the Brewery. Why not? I dashed down pretty much 'as is' and we met to catch up on her work situation. I had half a beer (it was a good idea but I wasn't feeling it so didn't finish my drink) and we visited. The Brewery had live music on the patio but it was still too cold to sit out (maybe 60 degrees but windy!). It was still fun to see Cindy and chat! Lindsey was working and was very surprised I came in alone! LOL But Cindy and her husband came soon after and we moved to a table. All good!

DH was napping yesterday when I left to meet Cindy - I left him a note (as he never reads his text messages!) that dinner would be 6:30ish - he was fine. Dinner actually turned out great - added the barbecue sauce, steamed fresh broccoli, and tossed some chips out for DH - it worked out! Carly was home and had some, Linds was still working, and Ben had gone for the day. He'll be back later today to help me move large bags of mulch. Carly was funny, she was like, "Hey, I can help too!" Oh? lol Actually she usually does help. The Brewery is closed today for the Holiday, so Lindsey has plans with her friend to tour some local wineries. I plan to hit WalMart for the mulch and a few planting pots, potting mix, and will slowly put together my potted plants. I chose petunias for around the mailbox (full sun) and impatiens for around the deck and front porch. Did I mention we had the large bushes pulled out? Yep, DH was done with trying to climb up the ladder to trim the bushes only to have them double in size by August - it was time. They were way too big for the front of our house. Our house looks so BIG now that those bushes are gone! I researched a bit and found two flowering shrubs to plant to replace the large shrubs. The landscape guy that pulled them out suggested keeping the new plants' growth under the height of our windows. Hmm, makes sense. I'll give it a go... Our weather is similar to others - cool and windy. We had the torrential rains and strong winds Friday and Saturday morning. Lots of tree branches down and leaves everywhere. But my deck furniture was fine! Hoping to sit out a bit later today if the temps reach 70 otherwise we will move inside to eat. No big plans, playing with the thought of having my DM over for a cookout. It's hard. She's just so draining...but if Lindsey stops over with Mitch (he's their manager at the Brewery and they are NOT dating) after their wine tours and Ben is here, it could be fun. Life update for Lindsey: she is 'dating' Nick. Sort of. Kinda. But Nick and her are complete opposites and the other night they had a heart to heart realizing their relationship would not be long term. But they will still see each other as they really like-like each other but not enough to be each other's "the one". Hmm...what ev er. Right? I mean, why not just HAVE FUN and stop analyzing all of this! Hey, that's just me - I guess I'm old fashion. Lindsey did land the job with a local agency as a member of the in-home therapy team. She starts June 14 and will continue Grad school and balance this adult career. She may have to stop working at the Brewery as Grad school comes first. She just feels guilty about letting go of her server's job. Carly and Ben secured an apartment in Butler. They can move in July 17 but that is the weekend of Carly's best friend's Bachelorette weekend. So they are moving in July 24. Ben has applied for several jobs in the area (Marketing, PR) and received some interest. Fingers crossed he gets an interview and lands something. Carly will be here as long as possible though as she committed to working Extended School Year for visually impaired students in this county. I think that program ends in August. She'll learn the details later this week. Things are moving along quickly now compared to last winter...it's exciting but draining

I have 5 contract reports to do - one is about finished so 4 are left for June. I told Fulton Co. I just could NOT return until August - I almost cried when they asked me to return in June which would mean using ALL my vacation time for driving down to Fulton. I just said NO. I have 5 days of time OFF to use - the Prince quietly told me last Friday that this year he was allowing 'carry over' until July 9th. He wants the school to be in 'shut down' July 5 - 9th but guess what? I may want some time off in JUNE - I might ask if I can work remotely that week in July then... Nothing has changed at work-work. Same drama, different day. I am just powering through. Carole - I wanted to mention how proud I am of you for seeing Jasmina and trying the meds. Your posts sound like you are feeling lighter and less angry. What a great feeling! I think you mentioned today you and Ken would be allowed to meet Tracy's Bob? Ohh eager to hear how it goes!! We are not allowed to meet Lindsey's Nick because, afterall, he's not 'The one!" Gary and I can't convince her to stop that train of thought and just invite him over to see that we can be fun too! LOL Sue - I didn't get a chance to see if you had the baseball games yesterday after all. I'm so glad you had some down time this weekend - I may not have been in my flannel pj's Saturday, but I was on the reclining sofa ALL AFTERNOON just napping and reading!! Loved it! Karen - rumor has it sweet Eleanor may be home this week - now THAT would be a lovely turn! Is your school year over? Everywhere else (I swear) ended their school years last week except for this corner of PA. We are in session until JUNE 16. Another brilliant move by DL and the Prince - sarcasm - lol - I work anyways so I'm taking advantage of the late school year to evaluate our students and get caught up on some projects. Gabrielle - I believe you were taking some time off last week, right? And helping Ed with his long runs and tracking his route. You are right about this being a long commitment due to COVID shutting down the race last year. Wow! I hope you are finding balance with all of this too.

Good morning Christine ~ Thanks for starting us off today. I slept in and am still just having a very-lazy-day! I have ZERO Motivation to DO anything!! Still cold and dreary here this morning - which does not help my motivation at all! So another cup of coffee while I catch up here ♥
I did keep it fairly sensible yesterday - and it was a one-meal day, so it should be fine. Back on track today? Applebee's for dinner, so I'll have to check the menu for some options before I get there! Will force myself to drink my water before we go... been slacking on water the past few days!
Sue: Ugh it's so depressing!! All this rain - cold - miserable weather! I could easily take the rain - if it were a WARM rain... this is colder than I ever remember a Memorial Day weekend!
Gabrielle: Thank goodness you WERE there to meet DH on that leg of his run!! So concerning about his weight and his hydration {{{{hugs}}}} to you as you hold your tongue, and help him figure it out! MAN these days OFF have been brutal for you!
LOL Yes, I am sure Wal-Mart had MORE HB Buns, but I was there in the evening, so no one was stocking shelves! Big Y had SO MANY... and on sale... it's all good.
Oh dear... yesterday got pulled out from under you too? Hoping TODAY is for YOU??
Sue: WOW You certainly got things done yesterday! Good for you - I am hoping I can do that today... make myself get things done for the week ahead! OH dear you have a very hectic week ahead - hoping today is a low key kind of day for ya'.
Changed weeks for my injections - no problem. It will be a week before we head to TX, so the week we go, I'll work from home Monday & Tuesday. Wednesday I'll meet with Jasmina, then we head out very early Thursday morning! Hoping I can also work from home the W-F after we get home, but I haven't asked yet.

Christine: YAY for taking the weekend OFF, and not feeling guilty for it! You certainly deserve a weekend OFF!
So glad you got outside for your spring cleanup, I bet that helped you feel better. LOL Had to help Carly & Ben in the basement. Glad they found some stuff to get started. July will come quickly. Nice to get out, even for 1/2 a beer, with Cindy.
WOW you sure do have your work cut out for you this weekend! So much mulching/planting/pruning - good luck with it all! LOL I am not ever showered and dressed for the day yet!
So much going on for Linds. Glad she & Nick can go out, have a good time... she's got too much going on to make a life choice already!
OH I hope the Prince lets you work remotely during the school "shut-down" and not have to take vacation at HIS choice of time. {{{hugs}}}
LOL Yes, we will be meeting Bob today - I admit to feeling anxious about it. I always over-analyze how my "reactions" will be taken... I don't want to jump to conclusions - or expect this is "the one" although, I secretly hope he is! I'd just love to see my girl happy. Not that she "needs a man" to be happy, but I don't want to think of her growing old "alone"! My sister asked yesterday if we had met him yet, and I told them that he was thinking of joining us - and my (elderly) aunt was like "NO WAY" He can't meet ALL OF US all at one time! LOL
Thanks, yes, I do feel GOOD that I am no longer in such a depressed - angry state each.and.every.day! The only thing bothering me now, is still so tired All-The-Time! Not sure if it's the med? The weather? Just me? After dinner each night, I basically go straight to our room, and watch TV or read. I just don't have it in me to try to enjoy TV with Ken & Tracy!

Good Morning everyone
We had a great day at the beach and my Mom and Dad had a great time getting out of the house and see the beach, they haven't been in over 10 years. My sister and her husband met us over there. He had a new kite he wanted to fly, I think I put a video out of the new kite. It was pretty busy over there but we went out to a brewery and had some dinner and of course some beer. My Dad loves beer. I had a chicken gyro and it was delicious. Then we went down to Depot Bay and got some salt water taffy and some carmel corn then we got home around 7:30 so it was a busy day, but they really enjoyed getting out, they both slept on the way home, just like kids. My Dad is not going to be able to get out very much longer without a wheel chair, it's just a lot for him to get around so I figure we need to get them out as much as possible while we can.
Christine so great to see you pop in. Sounds like everything is going great and the girls are doing great as well. They are moving to the next chapter of their lives. Glad Carley and Ben found an apartment, I sure hope Ben get's some hit's on some jobs soon. Lindsey sounds really good as well and yes I agree with you, just stop over thinking a relationship and have fun with Nick. Sounds like you had a great day yesterday with all the spring cleaning you did. I hope you get some of this 80 degree weather that we are having soon, it's going to be hot hot this week.
Sue good for you just relaxing this weekend and thank you for the recipe I can't wait to try it cause I love Rubharb and strawberries as well. I got caught up on some Net Flix last night, I binged watched "The Komensky Method" with Michael Douglas and Kathleen Turner and Alan Arkin, it was so funny, but they only did 3 seasons and then quit. Today I will mow the lawn and just relax a bit.
Carole have fun going to Applebee's with Tracy and Bob. I'm glad your day was relaxing as well. I'm sure Bob is anxious as well. The beach was really nice and the weather was beautiful, I did get my toes in the water but my feet kept sinking in the sand so it was hard to walk.

Good morning!
I know that Carole would maybe be a bit envious, but it is supposed to hit 102 today---wow! The house is closed up with the blinds shut to trip in the cooler air for now. DH is pretty much planted on the couch after going to the grocery store with me. I am trying to get all of the housework done that feels lacking from the last two weekends. Long, hot day yesterday but DH took it slow and did better--too short of a distance to tell about his hydration. If he doesnt get this figured out, there is no way that he will finish that 100 miler. Hoping that he really focuses on the hydration.
Christine: Good to see you and to get caught up with the family! Love that you had that unplanned downtime yesterday at the brewery---those are the best things...just time to relax! Good for you for putting the reports aside and taking care of your own needs (well, the things that you feel YOU need to do). Sounds like Carly will be all set for the big move--nice. LOL about Nick and Linds....I can't help but wonder if one of them kind of hoped for something more and they are convincing themselves? Time will tell! Glad that she can quit the brewery job to focus on Grad school...so worth it! Fingers crossed that Carly's BF gets a job soon---so exciting to be out the real world now. From how you described it, is your house a lot brighter now with the bushes removed? I would think so---it's nice to change it up every now and then! I think that I am going to lay down cloth and put small river rocks in our front planters. We are planting a lot more drought tolerant plants anyway and I like the nice, clean WEED-FREE look. I hope that you get some warmer weather soon and can enjoy the patio at the brewery---it's hard to imagine cool weather right now. Days off and being able to work from home that week in July sounds great! It's nice to just close down the office for a week. Hope that you have a good 4-day week and STAY STRONG---no more testing until August!

Carole: Yay for a low key day! And the birthday celebration went well I think? We look forward to hearing about Bob! I know what you mean, I would love it if DS21 would meet someone who he loved to spend time with. I hope that it warms up for you soon...yes, I have to admit that I look forward to the afternoon of 6/27 when DH's run is DONE and in the books. This is taking a lot of patience and it is pretty tiring. The 26th/27th is going to be crazy-tiring though so planning now is key. Can you remind me...when are you going to TX again? I know that it is for the memorial of your uncle...I am thinking it is July? So glad that you are feeling better! I know thata the gloomy weather has gotten to you before, I wonder if that is why you are feeling tired? Regardless, enhou your day and just BE YOURSELF when you meet Bob! You and Ken are such great people.....so welcoming and such good listeners.
Sue: Yum! Sounds like you are hving a good weekend...strawberries are out in full force here too...yum! Sounds like a nice lay-low weekend for you. Sorry about baseball getting cancelled though. That it always fun. Hope that your four-day week passes quickly-- and Gloria is joining you now, right?
Jenny: I saw the beach photos...what a fun day and what a treat for your parents! It just sounded beautiful in every way I am wondering if you have a hot few days like we do----it seems like we align on these things. So tomorrow is June and so much closer to Audrey's graduation--yahoo! Hope that you are having a great day.
Karen: So Eleanor will be released soon??? Great news!
Okay, I am going to sign off, get some more laundry done and feel like I had a weekend. I need to post something on the ranch Facebook page too---peaches are late thiis year...thinking we will not have any until July 4th. Have a good day ladies!

Colton's team picked up a couple scrimmage games today about an hour from here so all plans got changed....hit the store, left quickly for the game and just got home...not to scramble to get the few chores done that I have to do!! Colton hit a home run and we were so excited to be there to see it!! Was the perfect day for baseball!

Good afternoon. Been almost 2 weeks since I was last here. I am so distraught. DS Tyler called the other day and said ddil wanted a divorce. Just so random and out of the blue. Now she is saying it’s been coming because DS Tyler hasn’t helped her over their 9 years of marriage. EXCUSE ME!!!!!! He has been there for her. He has help give baths, cook supper, provide for the family, he tells her he is proud of her for all she has done!! She has lost like 60#’s and he tells her how good she looks and he takes care of her. He took this new job for HER!!!! To make her happy to make more money for the family!!!! Three weeks into the new job and she wants a freaking divorce!!!!! WTH 🤦🏻‍♀️. If he would’ve know she was going to leave him he would’ve stayed at the ranch doing what he loved!!!!! Now he is in a new career and alone. I feel so bad for him. I want to be there for him. I hate he’s so far away!!! First DS Clayton (youngest in NV) now my middle son in WY. We raised our boys to take care of their wives and I just don’t get it!!! They did what they was supposed to and then they get treated like that!!!! What I ask is for you all is to think of Tyler when you are saying a prayer and say an extra pray for him. He needs God to get him through this. He wants to try and work it out but not sure that will be an option. I want him happy so whatever that is I will support him. I’m not happy with what she has decided but if they work things out I will back him in his decision. There are some other things that have been brought to my attention that I’m not happy about but ultimately everything is his decision so I ask for prayers that what is best for the family happen. If it’s not in the best interest then so be it. But if it is I will have to support DS Tyler with his decision.
DS Michael invited us over for supper so I need to head over there. We got a good amount of rain so I’m hoping I don’t get stuck. Sorry I had planned to get here earlier s had gotten started but got interrupted at work me just now got back.
Hope everyone has been doing ok. Will try to get back soon
