This thread is for all of us who have been on the weight loss merry-go-round quite a few times. We have banded together to make this our FINAL time. We offer support & motivation, WEIGHT LOSS TIPS, food ideas – whatever you need to make it your FINAL time. If you start the day’s thread, please copy and paste this paragraph, with the following 2021 Goals:
Carole: 1.) Journal Daily, thoughts, feelings, ideas 2.) Track daily, Good, Bad, Ugly, HONESTLY 3.) Move every day, 10-30 minutes, as able 4.) Limit/Reduce Alcohol, All of it! 5.) Be thankful for something - every day.
Gabrielle: 1. Wellness--take steps each day to address better wellness (moving, attention to my eating, getting sleep, etc.) 2. Debt-- continue to take steps to eliminate debt (including the kids college debt that we are covering) so that I have no debt when I retire. 3. Connectedness-- each month have a plan to stay connected to those who I care about (maybe dinner once/month after COVID, Zoom, phone calls, etc.) 4. Creativity -- seek out projects that keep me using the creative side of my brain (knitting, paint parties?, etc.) 5. Journaling/Self-Awareness--find a way to journal my thoughts and to think through challenges and opportunities
Sue: 1. Get moving - plan to utilize my Cubii 3-5 times per week at least 2. Moderation - limiting junk, snacks, wine and all things I know that sabotage my success 3. Daily Gratitude - continue our November daily gratitude. 4. Start a journal - my "Life & Apples" journal will arrive later in the week. 5. Be more "present" - in life, in my journey, with family & friends, in all aspects of my world.
Jenny: 1) I'm moving to a clean eating plan like more veggie dishes and less red meat 2) I pulled out my Bob Harper from the Biggest Loser's " Yoga for weight loss DVD" and do that in the evening since it's pouring down rain here. 3) Cut way back on the wine at nights, they sell those tiny little bottles that have 5oz in them and limit myself to only 1-2 per day, that can work right? 4) Track everything even if I'm in the negatives and hold myself accountable
Christine: 1. Cardio exercise daily (walk, stationary bike) 2. FOLLOW the WW Plan using Honesty. 3. Daily gratitude - Say something NICE each morning
Karen: 1. Take one step at a time and be kind to myself. 2. Move by getting my kayak on the water at least one day per week... it will be more as the weather warms. 3. Stick to my intermittent fasting schedule. 4. Try to sleep reasonably.
Shelly: 1. Be more organized at work. Never leave with stuff on my desk 2. Be there for people when they need someone to lean on 3. Stick with WW plan!!! No matter what!!!! 4. Be a better influence on those around me.

Good Morning - TRACK IT TUESDAY!! I must get back to tracking (again). Why is it so easy to lose that habit? I don't even remember the last time I DID track!! Oh well, one thing for sure - I can always "start again"!
Back to the office today, won't need a mask! We got the email late last week, due to Gov. Bakers revised mandates - IF we are fully vaccinated, we may choose not to wear a mask. We do have to provide proof of vaccine. I already sent a copy of my card to HR, so vacation is not an issue - so I guess I won't need my mask starting today! I admit to some anxiety over NOT wearing one, but have to trust the science, and go with my gut! I do know one woman I work with - who is not getting the shot - was out and about this weekend, with no mask! Even though the mandate says unvaccinated should still wear them. She will have to wear one at work - but let's face it the "honor system" is not totally "honest" in this world in which we live! So - I will have a mask, and see what my gut says about wearing it! One good thing - I can now eat at my desk if I want! HA!
I slept terribly last night - I do believe it is worse when I know I am returning to the office the next day! Not sure why - other than I do like working from home (now)! Oh well, I'll get through it and probably sleep better tonight!
Now for fresh coffee and a few minutes to catch up ♥

Oh yesterday, I did lose a post! Just as I hit create our internet went out! UGH, it has been spottier than usual lately - or so it seems. I had copied and pasted, but - it just would not come back, and I had to get myself moving!!
I managed to get the DR table back to normal size, got the chairs all moved, dishes put away, and another batch done - and some laundry! Now to look for a new dryer! UGH!! Mine seems to run - and run - and run, and the clothes are still not DRY! So, will start that process today! Tried to go yesterday, but holiday hours were only until 5, and we got there at 5:03 - after dinner! Oh well - can't fault them for closing early on a holiday! I remember so many years of nothing even open on Sundays and holidays.
Jenny: So glad you got your folks out of the house and over to the beach! Sounds like a fun day for everyone.
Gabrielle: OK Well, 102 might be a bit of a stretch for me to "enjoy"... seems the heat bothers me more than it used to! BUT, I do remember those HOT summer trips to Tahoe, and Sacramento - I was OK back then! the year we were in Monterey, I was wishing for HOT weather! LOL Glad you can close up the house to keep the cooler air in and the hotter air out!
Gosh, sorry that with all the planning and the extra time to figure this out, DH never realized the issues with the heat! I am sure he WILL figure it out and be A-O-K for running in a few weeks. {{{hugs}}} to you as he figures this out.
Oh dear yes, I would imagine the patience it requires of you - to help him, without telling him what to do. You are amazing my friend ♥ I am not sure many of us would have that patience that you have. We will actually be in TX while Ed is running! We fly out Thursday 6/24 in the wee hours of the morning. We are in San Antonia for Thursday night, then drive up to Ft. Worth. The memorial service is Saturday 6/26, and we fly home Monday 6/28 - Just a short trip this time. I am off Wed 6/23 - Tues 6/29, I like a day off on both sides of the trip.
Maybe peach season being later this year is a blessing in disguise. Give DH some time to recoup after the 100 miler, before harvesting season picks up?
Sue: YAY for being able to go to the games yesterday! I know you enjoy them. Sorry they disrupted the weekend plans, but you are very good at adapting to whatever comes along. WOO HOO for Colton's Home Run! I bet he was excited too. Glad Sarah & Josh still include you for the boys.
Shelly: OMGosh, What?? So sorry to hear about DS and DDIL. Nope, nothing you can do to fix this - just be there to support Tyler {{{hugs}}} - feel so bad for him, just starting out a new job - Nine years? Oh Hun, wish there was something I could say ♥

We met Bob yesterday - Applebee's was not very busy - but it was "difficult"! LOL He is such a quiet guy! He really only spoke when we asked him questions. I felt bad for him, like I felt like he must have felt like he was being interviewed! LOL He just turned 36, Tracy will be 39 in July. He works for a "fake" meat place - in packaging. Been there a while, working SIX 10 hour days for the past couple of years. (so he is a worker). He works 2nd shift, 4:00 PM - 2:00 AM, (?) so he doesn't have a lot of a social life!! He sleeps until 9 ish in the morning, then up and not a lot of time before he heads to work for 4!! His day off is usually just Sunday - this weekend they shut the plant down so everyone could have the 3 days off!
He was born in TX, his dad was stationed at Ft. Hood. His parents were both from MA so when he got out of the Army they came back to MA, Bob was 12. His Mom has since passed away (cancer I believe) so he shares a house with his Dad, who is retired. He has one sister, older - who lives near them. She has 4 children, ages 13, 11, and twin 1 year old boys. He is not on FB so I can't do much more investigating! LOL
Oh dear - look at the time! Yikes... gotta head upstairs and get ready for a day IN the office! LOL We didn't get produce prepped, so today's lunch will be a hodge podge of whatever I have in the fridge! OY VEY!
♥hugs♥

Good Morning - it feels like a MONDAY - ugh, I just wanted to turn over in bed and ignore that pesky alarm.
Yesterday was a really nice day after all - I finished my pruning of flowers (daisies), weeded a bit, and then dashed to Walmart and bought another planter, potting soil, and mulch. Transplanted a few perrenials then laid the mulch. Planted my flowers and did the clean up - oh my - was I ever aching especially the tops of my feet. How dumb is that? lol Anyways, the yard looks good front and back. I ran out of potting soil for another planter and I still have some flowers to plant but I can do that next weekend.
DD22 Lindsey and her friend finished touring the local wineries and returned here for dinner - we had such fun with Mitch! It was cool outside but we all sat out on the deck and laughed while having dinner - Turkey burgers, hot dogs, potato salad and beans. DD25 Carly went to the store earlier while I was mulching to pick up more buns and the potato salad. It was so good! I was so happy DH even joined us outside as in years past he adamantly refused to eat outdoors. He always complained about bugs or the heat - but neither one was an issue (temps still in the 60s) and he wanted to visited with Mitch too - so he joined us!
The only downside to the day was DM. Grrrr - my DB had stopped over at her place and she was angry and mean. I told him it was probably because I didn't plan a picnic and invite her! I explained I was too tired to cook after all the yard work I did - he got it. But man was she ever in a mood! So of course I feel guilty for not having her over last night but honestly I didn't have the energy for her emotional outbursts and drama. My family totally agreed but I still feel guilty.

Carole - I wondered if you had a chance to meet Bob. Hmm...sounds like it was a good idea NOT to meet the whole family at once. Did Tracy say anything afterwards if he's always this quiet? Maybe he just needs time to warm up and feel comfortable. It doesn't sound like you were being judgey or anything but it's hard when the other person does not talk. What did you end up ordering at Applebee's? DH and I went the other night and ehhh I'm still not a big fan of it like I used to be!
Gabrielle - hope you had time to get done a few of things you had hoped around the house. I totally get it. I feel the same here - like my housework has fallen aside. The house is neat but I notice the little things like it needs vacuumed, or the new shower needs wiped down. BUT I did get my outdoor work done so I can feel accomplished there -
Sue - Hooray for baseball!! What a great moment to see Colton hit that homerun!! YAY!!! Does he play for a travel team that their scrimmage would be so far? What a great start to the season for him!
Jenny - I loved the Beach pictures on FB - I am so glad you made the time to plan to take your parents and that DS met you there! Sounds like you all had a lovely time!
Shelly - ohhh man. Didn't see that one coming...consider DS Tyler included here in prayers that they get this sorted out. Wasn't this the DDIL that he has been with since they were both in high school? Still. Wow. I feel bad that he moved and took this new job for his family and now she's backing out. Hang in there you!

Sorry I didn’t get back here today. Worked then on the phone with my mom and then DS Tyler called. I guess he was going to go stay in a motel tonight and then look into buying a camper to live in for a while. So sad for him. Yes this is the son that married his high school sweetheart and they have been together 13 years married almost 9. Married aug 2012. 2 kids and I’m not sure how peaceful it will be. I hope they can work things out but I want him to make sure she doesn’t screw him over with the kids or child support so high he doesn’t have enough money to live on himself. I mean she makes good money herself. She’s the lead dental hygienist so it’s not like she needs an outlandish amount of money to raise the kids. He will cover their insurance and I’m sure he will pay daycare $1000 month I think he said so not sure what else he will have to pay. I mean he’s not the one wanting the divorce. He told her over and over again he wanted to try and work it out!!!! He’s lost 17#’s in a week. I feel horrible for him. Anyway please please keep him in your prayers that he can let this go and move on. I worry. He has no one up there with him as far as family. I hope he feels comfortable calling me as often as he wants.
Sorry no personals again I have to get to bed but will try to get here tomorrow. See you all soon.
