This thread is for all of us who have been on the weight loss merry-go-round quite a few times. We have banded together to make this our FINAL time. We offer support & motivation, WEIGHT LOSS TIPS, food ideas – whatever you need to make it your FINAL time. If you start the day’s thread, please copy and paste this paragraph, with the following 2021 Goals:
Carole: 1.) Journal Daily, thoughts, feelings, ideas 2.) Track daily, Good, Bad, Ugly, HONESTLY 3.) Move every day, 10-30 minutes, as able 4.) Limit/Reduce Alcohol, All of it! 5.) Be thankful for something - every day.
Gabrielle: 1. Wellness--take steps each day to address better wellness (moving, attention to my eating, getting sleep, etc.) 2. Debt-- continue to take steps to eliminate debt (including the kids college debt that we are covering) so that I have no debt when I retire. 3. Connectedness-- each month have a plan to stay connected to those who I care about (maybe dinner once/month after COVID, Zoom, phone calls, etc.) 4. Creativity -- seek out projects that keep me using the creative side of my brain (knitting, paint parties?, etc.) 5. Journaling/Self-Awareness--find a way to journal my thoughts and to think through challenges and opportunities
Sue: 1. Get moving - plan to utilize my Cubii 3-5 times per week at least 2. Moderation - limiting junk, snacks, wine and all things I know that sabotage my success 3. Daily Gratitude - continue our November daily gratitude. 4. Start a journal - my "Life & Apples" journal will arrive later in the week. 5. Be more "present" - in life, in my journey, with family & friends, in all aspects of my world.
Jenny: 1) I'm moving to a clean eating plan like more veggie dishes and less red meat 2) I pulled out my Bob Harper from the Biggest Loser's " Yoga for weight loss DVD" and do that in the evening since it's pouring down rain here. 3) Cut way back on the wine at nights, they sell those tiny little bottles that have 5oz in them and limit myself to only 1-2 per day, that can work right? 4) Track everything even if I'm in the negatives and hold myself accountable
Christine: 1. Cardio exercise daily (walk, stationary bike) 2. FOLLOW the WW Plan using Honesty. 3. Daily gratitude - Say something NICE each morning
Karen: 1. Take one step at a time and be kind to myself. 2. Move by getting my kayak on the water at least one day per week... it will be more as the weather warms. 3. Stick to my intermittent fasting schedule. 4. Try to sleep reasonably.
Shelly: 1. Be more organized at work. Never leave with stuff on my desk 2. Be there for people when they need someone to lean on 3. Stick with WW plan!!! No matter what!!!! 4. Be a better influence on those around me.

WORTH IT WEDNESDAY - WE ARE WORTH IT!!! We are worth the extra time we take for ourselves, with planning and prepping. We are WORTH the extra $$ that it may take to get the foods that are better for us. You are WORTH the time and $$ that you may be spending on yourself for the gym, or other WO equipment for your home. I can tell you that taking the time and money needed to eat healthy - track with whatever app you have (paid or free) if its all working to make you feel better, then it is WORTH IT.
I came home last night and spent about 1 1/2 hours prepping my salads, and cleaning out the fridge. I portioned fruits and veggies for snacks. I didn't want to spend that time in the kitchen - but knew it would be WORTH IT in the long run! I now have jar salads ready for the last 3 days of the work week. I have fruits ready for myself & Tracy to grab and go, as well as celery cut and ready to grab too! So today I can just grab my lunch and snacks, and hit the road!! I LOVE when the fridge is so organized!!

Yesterday when I left work, it was a BEAUTIFUL 72 degrees!! This morning back to the 40s! Chance of scattered showers today - NOT The June weather I was hoping for!
Christine: Ugh, I agree... but then again, most days I do NOT feel like getting out of bed! Phew - you got a LOT done this past weekend. I bet it looks beautiful around your house. Oh dear, sorry DM can be a downer, even when she isn't physically there! I totally "get it". I actually have not seen Tracy since dinner Monday! LOL She & Bob hung out after dinner, before she had to head to work(I think). Then she got out of work yesterday and didn't come home. She will be home briefly tonight, for a quick dinner before the EMT meeting. HA! I ended up with a side salad and a burger. I was actually satisfied and didn't eat the fries. Eh' I agree - the menu has changed. The salads are more calories than a burger sometimes! I did enjoy 1 margarita Tracy had said previously that he tends to be quiet, another reason I thought meeting all 12 at one time was a stretch! I am going to suggest that she try to do a dinner out with Tim, Jaclyn, Patti and the girls - before bringing him here to meet the aunts! LOL His schedule is so tight, that he may just come here for our FD and more BDs? She & Bob can figure out the next step!
Sue: OH MY! Good luck staying on top of things!
Shelly: {{{{HUGS}}}} To you - so sorry about it all. Just remember to take care of YOU during this time too. 17# in one week?? That can't be good for him - hope he can take care of himself too! Such a sad situation ♥

So I had my mask yesterday, but it just felt "right" to not wear it! A few folks had them on, even ones I know have been vaccinated, but for me - I felt OK with not wearing it! I carried it when I wandered around the building, just in case -but the majority of folks didn't have them on. We were reminded that if we want the "privilege" of NOT wearing one, we have to send a copy of our card to HR.
It's weird though, I know outside of work, one woman is NOT wearing her mask when she is out to eat, or shopping ~ Which is where the "honor system" doesn't work well at all! At work she wears it - but other than that, she is not being "honest"! Some times that bothers me, and I think, Hmmm... maybe I should wear my mask? Then I remember I am the one vaccinated! I shouldn't have to wear it... so confusing right now!
OK Ladies - need to wrap it up here, and get into my medical portal to have the med refilled. The prescription is over a year old, so no refills! Oh well, should be easy enough on line.
Meanwhile - whatever you do today - make it WORTH IT TO YOURSELF!
♥hugs♥

Morning Carole and all to come from good old Sheridan. Worked until just after 5:00pm last night and punched back in at 4:56am this morning. Made good progress with the MEAP and will soon do the time sheets and move onto the balance of the orders that dropped with it...569 orders and that will likely take me all day and maybe have to finish up in the morning...at this point the next MEAP hasn't dropped but I expect it at some point in the day....
Tried to read last night and promptly fell asleep with the iPad on my chest!! LOL!! Crawled out of the recliner and into bed about 9:15...slept pretty well until Jason got a Charlie Horse and startled me awake...UGH!!
Back to work...waves to all!

Good morning!
Well, I did type a post yesterday and then remembered that the internet crashed right as I hit "create post" and it was lost. Being an early track day, I had to leave---sorry to have missed yesterday! I did read the posts though. Super hot yesterday- 103 degrees. It did cool down to 73 degrees overnight though (cooler than yesterday's 77 at 4:00 am!). It is hopefully going to be only in the 90's this weekend. DH and I met the coach and his wife for dinner last night at a local brewery---to talk through logisitics of the race. DH said that he still has questions (we were there for THREE hours....not sure why he didn't ask!) I am going to tell him to write them down and I will get answers. Next step is to schedule the meeting with the few who are helping me to crew (travel from aid station to aid station to meet DH and give him food, etc) and the pacers (two ladies are pacing part and then I pace the end). The bottom line (according to the coach) is that DH Is to find me and listen ONLY to me in the aide stations. I am going to really push that---in the past it has been kind of chaotic. I am there all prepared, he comes in, and a bunch of people rush forward to "help" and, pretty soon, I have no idea what is going on---I don't want to yell, "GET AWAY" but it is kind of crazy....even happened last Saturday! Anyway, we will try out this new plan. It is good to have a better idea now.
Carole: It's funny---I know that Bob was quiet but I am pretty impressed with all that you found out about him, LOL. And I agree, THANK GOODNESS he didn't have to meet the whole family at once! I love the idea of him meeting the kids, etc. I am sure that Tracy will like that too....maybe you all can meet his dad at some point too? Sounds like his work schedule will be the one challenge but Tracy has had a different schedule like that too, right? I am sure it will all work out. I am so happy for Tracy (and you!). I hear you on the mask thing. We were talking about it at our last department meeting since June 15th still appears to be the "magic" day in CA. I think I will still wear one in the grocery store maybe....places where we are around a lot of people? I don't know...it is so different isn't it? Who would have guessed that we would be navigating this! I am SO glad you are not wearing yours at work. Go maskless with confidence! I love how you got the fridge all organized and love the "Worth It Wednesday" theme. Us ladies are usually taking care of a lot of other people, aren't we? Thank you for the reminders! Hope that today is a good day for you!

Christine: Loved reading about you getting outside and getting the yard all ready! Reading about those bushes that have been trimmed...is your house a lot lighter inside now? I am always a fan of that! I had to laugh and Linds and the her friend's "planned" relationship and wonder...are the BOTH equally sure that they don't want it to go anywhere? Looking forward to hearing about that. It feels like all is right in the world when there are get togethers in your back yard. Over the years, I have always loved hearing about the groups gathering in your yard---it is how it should be! Yep, a great feeling to get things done out there I am sure! Sorry about DM I guess that, sometimes, she has become predictable. I am glad that you can still do the things you enjoy. I am going to have my DM and the boys over this weekend. DS27 just got back from Hawaii with his GF and she just started her new job so there will be things to catch up on and DM will enjoy it. She had a couple of rooms in her house painted as well and I need to go by and see them this week. Hope that your week is shaping up to be a good one AND that you can work from home that week in July--that will be nice!
Sue: I love that you got to go to baseball and see the homerun! Is Colton still "seeing" the girlfriend that you met? We all know how long relationships can last when they are young! So glad that you had some downtime this weekend...I am thinking that Gloria is back with you now? I hope so! Hope that the weather warms up for you too....
Carole: Oh yes, now I remember that your TX trip aligns with DH's run! I am so glad that the time with Jasmina is paying off---things just seem so much better for you
Jenny: Loved the pics of the beach with your parents--what a great day! I know that you are on countdown to graduation--what a fun celebration that will be! Will you be hosting a celebration in your beautiful yard?

Shelly: So good to see you but I am so sorry about DS Tyler! What a shock! I know that, as a mom, it must be so hard to be so far away...glad that he has you to talk to and I do hope that they can work it out....hugs to you right now.
Hello to all who follow. I need to get moving -- an early meeting and busy day. It is all good though. I need to finish tracking my yesterday and have my bone density scan. This is the time of year that I have all of my surveillance testing for my thyroid cancer and, I admit, it causes anxiety (and this is already a tough time of year---not sure why I don't suggest we change it by a month or something). Bone density due to levels of synthroid that I take, next week is labs and neck ultrasound, then my appt with the endocrinologist to review --- all right before DH's 100 mile run. What was I thinking? Oh well....it all makes us stronger, right? Hope that you all have a good day and see you tomorrow!
