This thread is for all of us who have been on the weight loss merry-go-round quite a few times. We have banded together to make this our FINAL time. We offer support & motivation, WEIGHT LOSS TIPS, food ideas – whatever you need to make it your FINAL time. If you start the day’s thread, please copy and paste this paragraph, with the following 2021 Goals:
Carole: 1.) Journal Daily, thoughts, feelings, ideas 2.) Track daily, Good, Bad, Ugly, HONESTLY 3.) Move every day, 10-30 minutes, as able 4.) Limit/Reduce Alcohol, All of it! 5.) Be thankful for something - every day.
Gabrielle: 1. Wellness--take steps each day to address better wellness (moving, attention to my eating, getting sleep, etc.) 2. Debt-- continue to take steps to eliminate debt (including the kids college debt that we are covering) so that I have no debt when I retire. 3. Connectedness-- each month have a plan to stay connected to those who I care about (maybe dinner once/month after COVID, Zoom, phone calls, etc.) 4. Creativity -- seek out projects that keep me using the creative side of my brain (knitting, paint parties?, etc.) 5. Journaling/Self-Awareness--find a way to journal my thoughts and to think through challenges and opportunities
Sue: 1. Get moving - plan to utilize my Cubii 3-5 times per week at least 2. Moderation - limiting junk, snacks, wine and all things I know that sabotage my success 3. Daily Gratitude - continue our November daily gratitude. 4. Start a journal - my "Life & Apples" journal will arrive later in the week. 5. Be more "present" - in life, in my journey, with family & friends, in all aspects of my world.
Jenny: 1) I'm moving to a clean eating plan like more veggie dishes and less red meat 2) I pulled out my Bob Harper from the Biggest Loser's " Yoga for weight loss DVD" and do that in the evening since it's pouring down rain here. 3) Cut way back on the wine at nights, they sell those tiny little bottles that have 5oz in them and limit myself to only 1-2 per day, that can work right? 4) Track everything even if I'm in the negatives and hold myself accountable
Christine: 1. Cardio exercise daily (walk, stationary bike) 2. FOLLOW the WW Plan using Honesty. 3. Daily gratitude - Say something NICE each morning
Karen: 1. Take one step at a time and be kind to myself. 2. Move by getting my kayak on the water at least one day per week... it will be more as the weather warms. 3. Stick to my intermittent fasting schedule. 4. Try to sleep reasonably.
Shelly: 1. Be more organized at work. Never leave with stuff on my desk 2. Be there for people when they need someone to lean on 3. Stick with WW plan!!! No matter what!!!! 4. Be a better influence on those around me.

Good morning - SIMPLE SUNDAY ☼ Looking forward to a laid back day - getting things done, but nothing too strenuous! LOL Some family is coming up to help get the steps in the pool - and I just bought cold cuts and rolls to have a quick non-cooked lunch! Eden & Tim will be up to help, and to swim! My sisters will be up to help - not sure who will be IN the water - but it won't be me! Still too cold for me! The girls loved it yesterday, and some adult will have to be in the water to lower the steps down in - whatever, it will all happen!
Oh My PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT for today - is clean out your dryer vents! I DO clean mine out, not "regularly - but whenever. WELL! Yesterday I thought I'd give that a check - I ended up taking the vent off the dryer too! THAT Part I do not usually do! I usually make sure the vent TUBE is clean - but WOW! What a mess I had! UGH! Then I took the longest part of the vent pipe outside, and the GUNK that was in it - I was amazed! It wasn't just lint... it was WET LINT... like soaking-dripping wet - smelly GUNK! I think we fixed part of the problem, but it still isn't 100%. I threw a load of laundry in and even after an hour of drying time, things were still damp - so I bought a new dryer yesterday! I pick it up Wednesday!
Christine: Hmmm, sorry DH being home shifted your morning - but then again, I think you deserve a day off too. UGH Sorry you got poison ivy! Yikes, it sounds awful.
Oh dear... sounds like Friday afternoon was a fun - even though long - afternoon. So glad you and Carly had the time to do some exploring.
Sue: YAY for cutting the day to only noon! Hope the errands went smoothly and you got home to enjoy some of the day.
Shelly: Hey - you are so busy! So sad that DS & DDIL are not having an easy time of it. {{{hugs}}} YAY for July vacation - where are you going?? It will be good for you to get OUT for the week.

We slept in until almost 7, and I have been enjoying a quiet, warm morning. I have some outside stuff to do before the others arrive, but suggested 1:30 to get started - so hoping they don't come too early!
My hair appointment went fine - and my next one has to go 5 weeks, instead of 4, because 4 weeks is 4th of July weekend!! Sam is taking an extended weekend, so I have to wait until the following Friday. The good news is I am on vacation that week - so I can go in the morning!
Then we let the girls swim for a while - took them home, then hit the stores! I was so NOT in the mood!! However, we got a dryer - hit BJs for a few things - then the grocery store for the cold cuts, and then out to dinner. Got home around 7:30, and CRASHED!
OK Time to get moving here - think the clothes in the dryer might be dry, so need to throw in another load. Then need to do some sweeping and then head outside.
Hope you can all keep things SIMPLE today ♥hugs♥

Morning Carole and all yet to pop in...not even going to try to catch up...will just head back to yesterday to see what everyone is up to this weekend....I expect Hannah will call to FaceTime soon so will likely, start now and finish later but it is what it is!!
It's a HOT, humid weekend here but no complaints from me....was shocked when I walked out of work yesterday at noon...the heat hit me like a tone of bricks!! Big change from 7:00am when I walked into the building!
Gloria made me hungry for a KFC Mashed Potato Bowl so after my last errand, I swung by there and brought one home for lunch! Plunked in the recliner to eat it in front of the fan and when I finished I promptly fell asleep! Took a nice nap, much needed. Jason was down at the lot so the house was quiet and I was comfy...
Hannah just called...back in a bit.....

Good morning!
So, SO happy to be sitting here, planning meals and making a grocery list rather than sitting in the sun waiting for runners or cleaning off running paths (my last two Sundays). I am looking forward to having everyone over this afternoon--they will be here around 4:00 pm for an early dinner. DS27's GF starts her new job with a new law firm tomorrow so I know that she will want to be home and getting ready for her first day. We are going to have a simple bbq--- burgers, hot dogs, fruit salad, potato salad....just relax and enjoy. I am so happy--it is nice this morning--about 70 degrees and I think that the high is 90. I have tomorrow "off"--only two zooms and from home. It's nice to have these 3-day weekends!
Carole: I loved seeing the picture of the girls in the pool. I always forget how beautiful and large your pool is! I didn't hear you say anything about the clarity of the water this year so it mustn't have been too bad this year? It looks lovely! I will take your driver vent cleaning advice....I have to ask DH how to access it. I think that we can from the outside wall. Ours is pretty new--we have a stacking washer/driver set up. I am glad that Emily is not the same as K---that is the LAST thing that you needed! I have to schedule my hair appt's 4 weeks apart in the summer (usually they are 5 weeks) because my color needs touching up. I have SO much gray and it grows more quickly in the summer. I just made that change in my last appointment---sigh, getting older! Yes, a lot of planning for the race. I got halfway through my planning spreadsheet yesterday and will finish today or tomorrow morning---and it IS like a second job. Thankfully DH had a good run yesterday -- I set his watch to beep every 15 minutes to remind him to drink and he said that worked. THANK GOODNESS. We have a cool week ahead and I would love this weather for June 26th....fingers crossed! Hope that you have a nice day today--relaxing with the kids there and just having a good time with family.

Christine: So good to see you and to hear about your time with Carly (UGGH to the bank incident though!). I can see why DH would want some time off too--and he might have appreciated the time at home alone. I am SO sorry about the poison ivy---I think that I have mentioned that we have poison oak here and I get it something AWFUL. I get it in one place, it becomes systemic, and it pops up everywhere. Unfortunately, the only thing the doctor will prescribe is prednisone and I just won't do that. Have you heard of Tecnu? It is a wash you can use if you think you may have been in it (I don't find it to help after it pops up though). They do have a spray though that helps with the itching. I have a big bottle of it for anytime I think I may have been in poison oak---with trail running, it comes in handy. I am just getting over a bout of it from 3 weeks ago and I am SO sorry that you are dealing with it! Hope that it clears up soon. Your school year ends soon, right? Do you get to work from home that week in July? I hope so!
Shelly: Hugs to you...yes, we are thinking of you.
Sue: So glad that you got that time to just sleep and recover! I know that you are going to appreciate today and I hope that next week isn't so consuming (in terms of work). At least you have your partner Gloria there! Hang in there.
Hello to all who follow. Need to finish my grocery list and get some housecleaning done. It will just feel good to get it done. I am doing some decluttering bit by bit and trying to control my urge to do it all at once....that does me no good and I don't do as well. Have a good day ladies!

I'm back....2 1/2 hours later...but a fun FaceTime with Hannah and the boys! Shea is at guard weekend this weekend. They had planned to leave to head to GA to see Deb and Dave this week but on June 14th, Rowan will be getting his 1st vaccine....they had registered the boys in a lottery for a Pfizer clinical trial and Rowan was selected. Rowan is all excited to be part of helping science. They won't know for up to 6 months if he got the vaccine or the placebo...they for the trial in Omaha they chose 50 kids from a random lottery, 1/3 will get placebo and2/3 will get the vaccine. Kind of cool I think!! So because of the trial date that can NOT be changed, they will leave now on the 15th for GA.
So now, back to yesterday to see what is happening...
LOL Carole...yes, when the boys are here we often have some "not so healthy" choices but the good thing is that they love salads, veggies and fruits so can can always bulk up the meal that stuff. Sounds like Friday was just a perfect day all the way around. Is Zoe going to kindergarten already or just Pre-K preschool?? I lose track of when her birthday is!! WOW, I guess w/o Eden, the "early riser" the house sleeps in on a Saturday. I only slept until 6:20 so got up and left for work once the coffee was ready. Today I did manage to sleep in until 7:20 which is "late" these days for me!
Have to laugh Carole...Gloria gets her hair cut on Monday after work and she mentioned yesterday she is getting her "summer cut"! Her hair is always short but in the winter she lets it a little longer in the back over her neck for warmth! Now that the summer has arrived, it will be super sort and almost tapered in the back! Like us, she doesn't have AC either so the shorter the better!!
Glad Emily doesn't complain about how busy she is after "socializing" like Kaitlin used to...that what annoys me about Tonya....she wastes so much time not working, the complains about being so busy! Gloria and I were actually talking about that yesterday! That is the one thing that Gloria did NOT miss about being in the other building!! Gloria arrived at the end of the day on Thursday and then Tonya was off Friday and tomorrow she Gloria hasn't had to deal with all the "drama" that IS Tonya!!
I wonder if the restructuring was done in preparation for something to come...I know that sometimes happens at Sheridan....we all wonder "why are they doing that?" and then the changes come and it makes sense. Did you add extra staff or just restructure?? I know there was a lot of moving around but can't remember if any additional people were actually added to the work force??
Carole...you and Ken are like Jason and I except we are opposite. I'm like Ken, I have not problems in new situations and can start conversations w/o a problem, Jason is like you and is quiet and reserved until he gets to know people a little more. I guess that can be misunderstood and rude or "stand off-ish" but I know it is not meant that way. Hopefully with each future visit with Bob, both he and you will open up more and than all will be fine...heck, you just met the guy!! Give it a little time! We all know you! The difference might be that Ken works in a very "social" job with lots of strangers both customers, vendors, sales people, etc and I have always been in jobs until this one that have been very social and interactive with lots of people. Jason has not had that at all...he has always worked in a warehouse with the same hand full of people! It has to be different. I'm not sure about you but seems now you work with the same smaller group of people w/o lots of interaction with "new" people except for the occasional new employee?? Just a thought??
Hi Christine...glad you got a chance to pop in a visit...I know you are very busy these days and not sure how much you get on during the week...I'm been so scarce this week I have no clue!! I'm be glad when things calm down a bit. Sorry Gary changed your "contract work" plan...hopefully you still managed to get to work on them for a bit! Oh no...poison ivy is the worst, especially when it starts warming up. I know I have gotten poison ivy from the cats...they walk through it, have the oil on their fur and rub up against me or I pet them and BAM....it's miserable! YUCK....just the thought of bed bugs gives me the creeps!! Glad there was no sign of them!!

How fun Christine to be able to head to Butler to see the apartment and help Carly get some ideas for furnishing it. It was be an adjustment to furnishing an apartment vs a house but I'm sure it will be perfect. UGH to 2 hours at the bank but does make sense to have a local bank she can also access in Erie!! LOL, glad there is "civilization" around....
Hugs Shelly and the entire family struggles to muddle through the recent divorce issues with Tyler...sorry things have gotten so "ugly" and so stressful. You will definitely be in my thought. Sorry the store, night manager still continues to be an issue. Please my friend...remember to take time for yourself...you can only spread yourself so thin before this effects you health-wise.... Hopefully you will still be able to go on vacation the end of July....you NEED it!!
Carole...thanks for starting us off today....I was up but just sat in the quiet enjoying my coffee and peace before Jason got up and stirring!! YAY for a quiet, laid back day for you today!! Enjoy!! Time for the pool step!! Let the season begin!! I agree, while I don't mind cooler water, cold water this time a year is a bit much! Growing up in New England and swimming in the cold waters on the Cape....I don't need "bath water" but I think the pool would be a bit chillier than even I can handle. What is the water temp about now! I remember when I used to help a friend's family when I was a kid get their pool ready for the season the water was like ice!
Oh YUCK to the dryer vent gunk!! Jason does take ours off every now and then, not sure how often. Can't imagine the smelly mess. Makes me wonder what got it clogged in the first place. Sorry it didn't fix the dryer issue but hey, now you have a new dryer! You have indeed but getting one appliance after the other...soon everything will be new! We are trying to hold off replacing anything until the renovation but unfortunately a fridge is NOT something you can put off...ours died so we had no choice! Hey, at least this time you won't be waiting, waiting, waiting....Wednesday will be here in no time!
Gabrielle...so glad you are enjoying some down time to plan and make your list for the week. I didn't shop this week...no real need. Enjoy your BBQ this afternoon...will be nice to spend time with family just enjoying the time and a nice meal. YAY for a 3 day weekend...how did you manage that?? So glad the beep of Ed's watch helped with his hydration. If Ed is anything like Jason, he says he's "not thirsty" but then after hours out in the hot sun, he starts to feel lousy and realizes that he was dehydrated....he has gotten better in recent years, especially since taking care of his dad those last year and seeing the issues he had from not drinking enough. Hopefully Ed learns as well after this!
Well...with Tonya off tomorrow and the balance of the biggest MEAP yet to finish tomorrow and maybe into Tuesday with the 4th and final one dropping Tuesday or Wednesday the early part of the week will be busy but after than, things should quiet down a bit. I managed to get 500 of the 1150 pick list printed yesterday but once they are all printed, they need to be matched with all the labels and that will take a good while. Once I get that done, which could be Tuesday, I will have the 100+ orders that dropped with the MEAP and Friday plus whatever comes in over the weekend...those will need to get done before I can even start the last one and that one is almost as big as this one....
Gloria and I were talking yesterday and not sure why we have had 8 in the last 2 weeks...they usually come 4-6 all month....is it that things got held up due to COVID and now things are getting back to normal?? Or is it just a coincidence. I know last year when I started in Back Issues we had 4 in the 2 weeks that Tonya & Gloria were on vacation....the other thing is that we have only had Manning for a few years and shortly after we got them COVID hit...we picked up this customer in late 2018 and then less than 18 months later COVID hit so we really had no real definite pattern of how things cycle throughout the year...Time will tell but for now, we are busy, more new customers coming so job security for 4 more years until I retire! I hope!
Waves to anyone I missed...will do my best to be better about getting here and staying "in the loop"! Time now to help put strawberries in the freezer for winter and make some HB eggs for the week. Jason will grill some chicken later today for the week. Will make some broccoli later in the week in the IP to have with the leftover chicken. IP makes perfect "steamed veggies"....broccoli and cauliflower are soft but not mushy....I like mine to still be firm so you still have to chew it LOL!!
Have a great afternoon all...time be be a bit productive!

Hellooo ladies. Life is finally slowing down. Emily is doing well. Baby Eleanor has been home for just shy of a week. James has finished his school year. I'm all moved into the new school building and pretty much unpacked ... so sore from all of the work but have time to recover now. Will catch up... and be here regularly now.

Evening all…another stressful and emotional day. In time things will settle and we will be able to figure out what is going on. We just need prayers. Sorry to keep coming in and asking for prayers without details but we need them in a super bad way!!!! I’ve got to calm down or I’m not going to be able to function. Barely ate today but did eat more than last 2 days. Was down 6#’s in 2 days. I’m sure the little bit I ate I will easily put it back on quickly. Although I wouldn’t mind losing 6 more to be below 200 lol. My stomach has just been in knots and I just can’t eat.
Carole not sure what’s going on with a new person cuz I haven’t been able to go back and find out but hope things get easier after you get to know each other.
Christine oh many poison ivy??? So sorry. Hope you get relief soon
Karen seen some pics of the new baby. Congratulations
Gabrielle how are the runs going?
Sue sounds like you are staying busy at work!!! DH job is still iffy at times. another reason for the stress.
Ok gotta try and get some sleep. See you soon
