This thread is for all of us who have been on the weight loss merry-go-round quite a few times. We have banded together to make this our FINAL time. We offer support & motivation, WEIGHT LOSS TIPS, food ideas – whatever you need to make it your FINAL time. If you start the day’s thread, please copy and paste this paragraph, with the following 2021 Goals:
Carole: 1.) Journal Daily, thoughts, feelings, ideas 2.) Track daily, Good, Bad, Ugly, HONESTLY 3.) Move every day, 10-30 minutes, as able 4.) Limit/Reduce Alcohol, All of it! 5.) Be thankful for something - every day.
Gabrielle: 1. Wellness--take steps each day to address better wellness (moving, attention to my eating, getting sleep, etc.) 2. Debt-- continue to take steps to eliminate debt (including the kids college debt that we are covering) so that I have no debt when I retire. 3. Connectedness-- each month have a plan to stay connected to those who I care about (maybe dinner once/month after COVID, Zoom, phone calls, etc.) 4. Creativity -- seek out projects that keep me using the creative side of my brain (knitting, paint parties?, etc.) 5. Journaling/Self-Awareness--find a way to journal my thoughts and to think through challenges and opportunities
Sue: 1. Get moving - plan to utilize my Cubii 3-5 times per week at least 2. Moderation - limiting junk, snacks, wine and all things I know that sabotage my success 3. Daily Gratitude - continue our November daily gratitude. 4. Start a journal - my "Life & Apples" journal will arrive later in the week. 5. Be more "present" - in life, in my journey, with family & friends, in all aspects of my world.
Jenny: 1) I'm moving to a clean eating plan like more veggie dishes and less red meat 2) I pulled out my Bob Harper from the Biggest Loser's " Yoga for weight loss DVD" and do that in the evening since it's pouring down rain here. 3) Cut way back on the wine at nights, they sell those tiny little bottles that have 5oz in them and limit myself to only 1-2 per day, that can work right? 4) Track everything even if I'm in the negatives and hold myself accountable
Christine: 1. Cardio exercise daily (walk, stationary bike) 2. FOLLOW the WW Plan using Honesty. 3. Daily gratitude - Say something NICE each morning
Karen: 1. Take one step at a time and be kind to myself. 2. Move by getting my kayak on the water at least one day per week... it will be more as the weather warms. 3. Stick to my intermittent fasting schedule. 4. Try to sleep reasonably.
Shelly: 1. Be more organized at work. Never leave with stuff on my desk 2. Be there for people when they need someone to lean on 3. Stick with WW plan!!! No matter what!!!! 4. Be a better influence on those around me.

MOVE IT MONDAY - Moving slow this morning. It was a long - hot - tiring, but FUN day yesterday. Steps are in the pool - I was in the pool! LOL Water is around 70 degrees - pretty chilly, especially on such a HOT day, but felt good once I was in for a while! I wasn't sure Patti was coming up with Zoë, so I called her, to see if she wanted the day to herself - I would have gone and picked Zoë up. Anyway - at 10:30 AM they were already on their way! Apparently when Zoë got up at 7:30 she was ready to go to Gramma Carole's house! We had said 1:30, so them arriving before 11 meant a longer day - but it was so nice! It was nice to NOT be "celebrating" anything or anyone! We brought out the stuff, and everyone made their own sandwiches, we had chips and that was it! No salads - no fruit/veggie trays - not a lot of snacks - one meal and not even any dessert!
It was also nice to have Patti here before the others got here. Zoë was in the pool - and Patti & I were sitting on the deck watching her, and chatting.

Sue: Here too - H-H-H but loving it!! Wish THIS were the long weekend!
Gabrielle: Have to LOL that you have 2 Zooms, and call that a day off! SO glad you had Sunday to regroup, and enjoy the kids coming over for a simple Sunday BBQ.
Oh yes, the pool water was clear when we opened it. A couple of issues when opening it this year - so we have a part ordered and when it comes in I hope they can schedule to come fix it soon. The pool still works just fine, but vacuuming is a challenge - so we need that part changed ASAP!
Did you get your spreadsheet finished? YAY for DH being reminded to drink. Fingers crossed the weather isn't too brutal on the 26th!
Sue: WOO HOO your kids will be "home" soon! So will they have to be back home for Rowan's 2nd shot in 3 weeks? Glad he is excited to be part of the trial.
Zoë turns 5 in mid-July, so now she is not doing any school. During Covid Patti saw no reason (and I agree) to pay for "Remote Pre-school"! She will start K in the fall! Yes, we tend to sleep IN when we can!
I don't think Sam did my hair as short as usual - for summer... that will change at my July appointment. LOL That is the one thing NONE OF US MISS about K working from home. Yes our restructuring brought in one new supervisor, and 2 extra bodies! We were a full department of 10 with 2 supervisors. Now we are 12 with 3 supervisors. Amanda had to give up her cushy office - now my supervisor Crystal is in that one. Then we have no desk for K - so she & Amanda will be working from home "for an extended period of time." I do believe that our workloads will increase in time. When the Digital Channels & Payments Department grows (which is a given) then the rest of us will increase our Verifications of everything too! We in Ops Admin & Quality Control - pretty much verify everything that has been done by the other 2 departments.
Most definitely - thank you. I am in the one room with the same small group of people day-in and day-out. I am quite comfortable working from home - and being home alone! I imagine things will get better with Bob - but it does go both ways. He has to "try" too!
Truth be told, the water is warmer than I realized! LOL Ken grabbed a thermometer at the store, and the temp was hovering around 71! not quite warm enough for me - but I did get in yesterday and it was COLD, but felt good after I got myself IN!
Yes, picking up the dryer Wednesday made more sense than waiting for delivery. The first day they could come would be this Saturday, but it's Relay day so I am not sure I would be able to be here... so we can load up our old one, they will take it and load the new one for me - and we save $40! I am just glad they still take the old one, even with no delivery!
OMGoodness, all these MEAPS dropping left and right - so busy right now! Yes, job security - but WHEW! Good luck with your OT again this week.
Karen: I saw your post that you would be back in the water this week! WOO HOO!!! So happy for Emily, James and Baby Eleanor ♥ Glad they are all settling in, and with James out of school - they can figure it all out all together {{{hugs}}}
Shelly: Hey there GF, do NOT let this stress keep you from staying healthy! I get it, hard to want to eat - but Hun, take care of yourself ♥ Eh' just the usual BS from "kids" at work - no big deal. It was a big deal at the time - but it's not a daily habit for her.
Hoping you got some sleep {{{{hugs}}}}

OK Guess I had best get moving here. No commute today but must keep MOVING during the day, but mostly need to get logged in this morning and try to get my 2nd monitor working this week. I doubt I will get it working, but I did bring another monitor home Friday - so time.will.tell.!
Nothing much going on here today - hoping Ken can get the lawn mowed before it gets too hot. It is getting shaggy out there! LOL
Need to get some plans set for the upcoming weekend - Drive Thru Relay, then Virtual Luminaria Ceremony (here) that night. Eden's dance Sunday... just a lot to get worked out in my head.
First things first - time to get dressed and ready for my work-day!
♥hugs♥

Good morning!
Wow, what a difference a week makes! We (apparently) have a nice, cool week ahead--highs in the 80's and one night it is supposed to drop to 40 degrees. These extremes are really something. I ran on the TM this morning and will not be joining the track group tomorrow as I have a very early meeting--will need to do the TM again. Glad to have that option. It was nice to have the family over last night! People were here for quite a while and the food was good....it was just a nice relaxing evening--glad to have done it. Our dog, Abby, has something going on with her leg (she scratched it and now it seems to be really bothering her) so I think the vet is in my plans for today too -- glad to have some time to take care of it. I do want to do a bit more decluttering...didn't really get to do that yesterday but I did get a lot of housecleaning done and even did the floors --- it's nice to have that done!
Carole: Oh, I love the Patti and Zoe came early so that you could have a casual visit! And maybe it is okay to have a "sandwich bar" for a lot of your events so that you can relax----consider it! You are a tougher woman than me...once my stomach hit that 70 degree water, I would be scarce! So glad that you ended your weekend on such a positive note. And this is just the beginning of summer My spreadsheet is about half finished....I will definitely finish it today. I need to get a hold of the emails that DH has too to get some other details for pacers to email to them. He has two pacers (besides me) and I need to figure out how to get one of them to where she needs to go when she is finished and get a few hours of sleep (it is the one time I have a little break in crewing before I have to pace). DH is SO much better now--feels so much more confident after this weekend and it is a good thing. I hope that your week goes well...I KNOW your week will go well! Oh, I love your pictures when you do the luminaries---that is next weekend? A very special event . Have a good day!

Sue: So good to hear how you are doing--we know that you have been working like a madwoman! Sounds like a nice visit with Hannah---and how cool that Rowan is participating in the trials! I love that he can see himself helping others by doing it too Yes, the beeping watch did help DH....I get a little cranky with him because there comes a point where he needs to have some self-control and take care of himself---things like: don't start out really fast just because you "feel good"--you have to project how you will feel 24 hours later when you are still running...can you still be running that fast? NO... also, he says, "sometimes it's hard for me to listen for the beep." Okay, he has no headphones, he isn't talking to anyone....seriously? It is part of your running---you have to drink! Anyway, I am getting a bit impatient with the excuses but it is actually working and he is getting more attentive (he was AMAZED at how good he felt Saturday when he started more slowly). Sheesh. Anyway, our marriage will survive this and I am bound and determined for him to survive as well. Hope that things really do settle down at work this week! Again, glad that you have your Gloria
Shelly: We are thinking of you always! I am so sorry about the strain that this is bringing on to you.... I do wish that you could at least get a walk in each day by yourself to take a deep breath and feel better. It might seem silly, but you would be surprised I think....sometimes that time alone can really help. Thinking about you!
Karen: So glad that the new little family is settling in! How nice that they have jobs where both will be home this summer to get used to the new family member! We look forward to hearing more about it.
Hello to Jenny, Christine, and all who follow. Time to call the vet and get moving before Zoom #1. Have a good day!

Good morning! I have spent ALL morning working in my bedroom on clothes that needed to be packed away and sorted and re-folded and put away so that I don't have to dig through baskets. I know... I know... I shouldn't ever let it get that way but when Emily went into the hospital in late April... and then the baby came... we just got by until the end of the school year. Last week was physically demanding getting unpacked from pallets into my new classroom. I even put up fall bulletin boards because WHO KNOWS what they'll have us do with the new technology, building, schedules, and such when we return in August!?!! I would prefer to be prepared. Carole - I think you're amazing with all of the special foods you do and celebrations... good for you doing a make your own sandwich bar! I would have struggled with 70-degree water, but I am sure it was refreshing! Sue - I saw you pop in from work! Hello! Gabrielle - you are so very efficient! I love it when my floors are clean too. I am certainly working though my house and playing catch up!
