Welcome to the Clutter Patrol, formerly CLUTTERBUSTERS thread. We are a daily thread, Monday thru Friday, and we have a combined weekend edition Saturday and Sunday. We welcome new members and are a friendly, helpful and supportive group.
Our purpose is for support and sharing of tips and strategies in dealing with weight and clutter issues in our lives. Many feel that the two are often tied together. So, we will lend a caring ear, and hopefully give and learn tips to help all of us.
We want to remove at least 5 items or spend at least 15 minutes clutter busting today!
Remember, it didn't pile up in one day so it isn't going away in a day either. One organizer says: you don't have to stop everything to get organized, you just have to start somewhere.

Good morning all. Got up early because I thought I heard Mara, but she was quiet. I am enjoying the quiet and some coffee before they all get up and we get on with our day. It was 78 at 8 am and going into the 90’s again today. I am loving the sunshine, warmer temps, and all. It all helps my overall mood and even my skin feels so much better.
Mara will go home later this morning. I think Stan plans to help DS remove a few weeds. We need to run a couple errands on the way home. I need to find a nice pair of white capris to wear to Carol’s Celebration of Life on Saturday.
I have a massage scheduled for later this afternoon. Since I cancelled one due to not feeling well, I got out of my every 2 week rotation and her schedule filled up; so over a month between and boy can I tell it! So looking forward to that hour on the table!!
Found out last night that our camping friends from ND have sold their toy hauler 5th wheel. The reason is so sad. The DH (who was a teacher/coach at the h.s. where I worked) has Alzheimer’s. He’s only 67. He’s had it for a year or two already, but just diagnosed in the past month. Last summer they thought he had a stroke; so they had a friend drive their truck with the 5th wheel to AZ where they camped all winter. They decided it wasn’t a stroke, but his thyroid; but meds didn’t help and they ruled that out. Now they know what it is and they have him on 2 meds to try to slow the progression. His wife retired a year ago (she was an elementary music teacher) and now she will become a caretaker. They live in a log home on a farm about 20 miles from any town of any size. I feel awful for them!!!
I’m going to start working on one room at a time. That’s all I can handle. I think if I do one room at a time and work on the storage areas some each day I might be able to make more progress. If I look at the big picture of everything we need to do, it’s overwhelming. Kind of like losing 90 lbs; I need to take it 5 lbs at a time!

(((hugs))) to start the day off.
I had 12 items on my to do list and got 9 of them done, or at least started. Guess what didn't get touched? Yep, spare room. Glad I was able to get as much done as I did but. . . .
I stayed up too late last night. I was tired but brain too active. Shower, breakfast and then time to clock in for work.

Ruth, so sorry to hear about your friend with Alzheimer’s , terrible, terrible disease. That is what Bill’s mom had – so sad for them and their family. Bill and I made lists of what needed to be done to get rid of a lot of our stuff. We then did some each day and felt very good to see the list start shrinking, good idea not to look at the big picture, but to break things down. I hope you can find a pair of capris that you like. Enjoy the massage.

I am trying to make yogurt in my insta pot, wish me luck. I’m supposed to start off with heating the milk and use the boil button for that, I don’t have a boil button on my insta pot. Bill wants to move badly. Yesterday on our way home he got a notification about a condo in one of the areas we are interested in. Priced right but the MBR and laundry are on the 2nd floor. There is a study on the first floor that could be converted to a MBR, but again laundry on 2nd floor. Bill wanted to go check it out but I told him that we would not put an offer in, he is getting real antsy to move. I feel we are ahead of the game with all the stuff we got rid of and if the right one comes we will be ready. I think he just wants to move now, but moving to a place that doesn’t meet our requirements doesn’t make sense to me. Our town is a very old area and by the time people started wanting the things like we want (1st floor MBR and bath and laundry), there wasn’t a lot of space to build that type of condo. Plus townhouses (bedrooms usually on second floor) are cheaper to build and the town will get more tax revenue. There are lots of townhouses but again if we want the steps that would be okay. We finally agreed to try to find something in our town this year and next year we will start looking in other towns. What we want is available, but farther out from where we are now.

Good afternoon,
Got a few things done this morning, including a walk around the block. It’s only 80* out and there’s a breeze so walking wasn’t too bad.
I have 4 meal prep meals that I need to use before they expire so my lunch menu is taken care of for the week. I have plenty of fruits and veggies to enjoy for snacking too. I had too many sweets over the weekend and I actually feel sluggish today because of it. Making sure I drink plenty of water.
Ruth - sorry to hear about your friend. I agree with Dottie that it’s a horrible disease. I have the best luck buying capris from Macy’s, the JM collection. I have 6 different colors in them.
Dottie - WTG getting rid of things. I do best with a plan in place.
Martha - your spare room sounds like mine. I look at it at least once a day, then find something else to work on. We’ll get there.

DSILs nephew did find a house not far from me and did pay quite a bit. I saw the pics from Zillow and the house looks great.
