WELCOME TO REGULAR & NEW POSTERS! This thread is full of encouragement & suggestions. New people, welcome! We encourage you to jump in. One day, one hour, one minute at a time is easier to handle than a week, etc. Lurkers, join in
Our goal is 21 days Binge Free (studies show 21 days to break old habits & start new ones!). Whether we make 21 or one, the point is to learn as we go, replace binges with other things to help us through stressful times. Some days are harder than others & we may slip; that's OK. The Binge Monster is in the shadows waiting to pounce. Hopefully this thread provides inspiration, courage, & support to become a Binge Survivor!
You may see different folks on different "Cycles." A Cycle is a 21 day block of consecutive binge-free days. Stay with us for as many cycles as you'd like.
Everyone's definition of a BINGE is different. The Oxford Dictionary defines a binge as a spree of eating and drinking. To many of us, BINGE is defined as "eating without dignity." The dictionary defines "dignity" as a calm and serious manner or style, showing suitable formality or indicating that one deserves respect. Only you can define what a binge is for you. Going over points, as long as it was done with dignity and journaled (thereforeacknowledged and "owned") isn't binging--it is up to you to decide.
SPECIAL THANKS TO LESLIE5609 for starting this challenge on the Out of Control Board, in August '02, and thanks to all who keep it going.

C117D3, 10 purple points and 859 calories plus isolated lunch at diner, just line dancing for exercise.
Lunch was worth every calorie - My friend and I split everything - grilled cheese, bacon, coleslaw, a pickle and bread pudding. YUM!!!

1795 calories 1306 exercise calories 118g protein 38g fiber
Another easy day of eating, and Iβm just thrilled. Iβm going to Costco while the dog is at the groomer today, and hoping itβs not a challenge for me. Iβm glad I kept my eclipse glasses from several years ago, I caught the tail end of the eclipse today. Unfortunately I slept through through the peak part of it.
Nancy, so glad you had a great lunch. Itβs so good to eat different, special food from time to time. Someone gave me rhubarb a few weeks ago, and strawberries are in season, so I think Iβll make a strawberry rhubarb pie this weekend. Definitely worth going off plan for!

Hi Ya'll! This time I think have been the most consistant ever, maybe turning 71 in a couple of months did the trick! Really bothered me last year for a while! Have been watching calories and points for quite a while, but on the treadmill almost 2 months now for some strange reason usually go 63 minutes every day. Lost 28 lbs so far, but have a lot more to loose. One day at a time, eh! How old are your kiddos and grandkids now? My 3 M's are 18, 15, and 10. Micah starts college this fall. Jaxon will be leaving Ft. Drum, NY on the 25th of this month for home, then college in the fall. Well, I have started shampooing our 21 year old carpet so will be busy for the next several days. Watched a youtube on cleaning car seats and made up the same formula. Working pretty good. Burning a lot of calories! (g) Love you all, Cindy

CINDY!!! Thrilled to see your post!!! So happy to hear you and your family are doing well! Missed you, excited you are back home with us!! Your healthy journey is off to a great start!!
Nancy, so glad you enjoyed your lunch!! Sounds yummy! Best part is you had what you wanted and continued your day as planned. The elimination of the binge is HUGH!! I think that is the key to my weight being so stable.
Jan, Love the easy food days! When I was in BJs, they had a great deal on the David Killer Bread (my favorite) and mini avocados. Iβve been swapping my yogurt snack with avocado toast....so good!
Meg, look forward to your check in....
Kathy, thinking of you, hope all is well!

Nancy: Sounds like you came up with a good plan for your special lunch. Good on ya!
Jan: Strawberry-rhubarb pie!!!
CINDY!! Yes, this group seems to welcome all of us oldies! I just returned in February. So good to hear your news and to know you're doing well.
I've had a strong couple of days. Trying to keep my focus on building good habits instead of losing weight. Seems so simple, but I quickly forget.
Peace to all.

Jan - Your easy eating days are adding up. I'm so happy for you.
Cindy - 28 lbs in two months is awesome. You're averaging 3.5 lbs per week. It may slow down a bit going forward. That's to be expected so don't be discouraged. Micah and Leila are the same age. She starts college at Hawaii Pacific in the fall. Grace graduates U of Louisville next year. The twins are 8 and Denver is 11. Time flies.
Lori - It's strange, isn't it, that the binging seems to have stopped after a life time of battling with it. Fingers crossed it continues for both of us.
Meg - Interesting approach concentrating on healthy habits rather than weight loss. I'd love to hear the sort of habits you're referring to. I think the most significant habit change for me has been cutting out the late night eating. The habit I'd like to work on is the mindful eating. That's the one I find impossible to remember.
