WELCOME TO REGULAR & NEW POSTERS! This thread is full of encouragement & suggestions. New people, welcome! We encourage you to jump in. One day, one hour, one minute at a time is easier to handle than a week, etc. Lurkers, join in
Our goal is 21 days Binge Free (studies show 21 days to break old habits & start new ones!). Whether we make 21 or one, the point is to learn as we go, replace binges with other things to help us through stressful times. Some days are harder than others & we may slip; that's OK. The Binge Monster is in the shadows waiting to pounce. Hopefully this thread provides inspiration, courage, & support to become a Binge Survivor!
You may see different folks on different "Cycles." A Cycle is a 21 day block of consecutive binge-free days. Stay with us for as many cycles as you'd like.
Everyone's definition of a BINGE is different. The Oxford Dictionary defines a binge as a spree of eating and drinking. To many of us, BINGE is defined as "eating without dignity." The dictionary defines "dignity" as a calm and serious manner or style, showing suitable formality or indicating that one deserves respect. Only you can define what a binge is for you. Going over points, as long as it was done with dignity and journaled (thereforeacknowledged and "owned") isn't binging--it is up to you to decide.
SPECIAL THANKS TO LESLIE5609 for starting this challenge on the Out of Control Board, in August '02, and thanks to all who keep it going.

C117D6, 25 purple points, 1517 calories, 70 grams protein, 46 grams fiber, drizzly day today, played pool but no exercise. For the week average daily calories 1276 (not including the isolated lunch on Wednesday). For the week 12 unused weeklies and 11 unused fit points, but again that doesn't take the isolated lunch into account.

I think I’m taking the clips off of my biking shoes. I’ve fallen due to the clips 2 rides in a row and both knees are now skinned. So frustrated with myself. One time was a quick stop to avoid a dog, and I couldn’t unclip in time, and the other fall was due to a sharp turn that I didn’t make well. My friend’s great granddaughter spent the night last night. So much fun, and so very cute. She’s talking up a storm. We did sidewalk chalk, fed the chickens bananas, and played in the sprinkler last night.
Nancy, avocado toast is a piece of multigrain seeded bread toasted with mashed avocado spread on top. You can salt it and/or add lemon juice if you wish. Great stats last week for you!

Life certainly feels back to normal. The only thing I’m missing is a little extra free time....super busy the last few days.. Next weekend is family time down the shore - looking forward to it....
Nancy, Great week! Interested to see what the scale average is today....even if you estimated 1000 calories for your lunch, your still under 1400, which is Awesome!!
Jan, sorry to hear about the fall, ouch! what fun with the little one! She must Love when you watch her....
Hi to Everyone! Off to the WW barn meeting, then meeting a friend for picnic and walk... Hope to be back later...

This weeks average daily calories = 1275 vs 1291 last week This weeks moving weight average 138.5 vs 138.4 last week.
Jan - That's horrible about the falls. Lucky, I guess, that you didn't get hurt even more badly. Yes, please take the clips off. Your little visitor sounds precious. Great for her, great for you, and a much appreciated help, I'm sure, for the mother. win/win/win.
Lori - Averages posted above. So here's the bad news... free time remains equally if not more challenging after retirement. No one I know can even imagine how they ever managed 40 hours of work <g>.

Lori, it’s funny how quickly we became busy again, isn’t it?
Nancy, I took the clips off this morning and went for a ride. I don’t like that my feet slide around a little, but it’s peace of mind when it comes to having to stop quickly. My friend is 71 and he and his wife are raising this little girl. Their grandson is locked up (again) and the baby’s mother is a mess. They are actually the great grandparents. Their daughter, the grandma, is of no help. It’s not a great situation.

Nancy, you might think I’m crazy but I would suggest upping your average calories by 50. I actually think 1350 you would still see a weight loss and metabolism work better. Can’t hurt trying it for a week...This week with the isolated meal you still saw a lose...
Jan, what a sad situation. It must be very difficult for the great grandparents to keep up with a little one 24/7. I hope they have more friends, as wonderful as you, to help out once in awhile.....
Just got back from exploring a walking path around a lake with a good friend. We had a blast catching up and trying not to get lost on the trail plus we packed our lunch and enjoyed a little picnic. Tonight taking DH out to dinner. Not sure where he wants to go, so I have been eating light and healthy so I can enjoy whatever he decides....
Meg, Kathy and Cindi - hope your Saturday is going well.

C59. D1. Tracking and moving - literally.
Jan - ughh on the fall and good idea to lose the clips.
Nancy- your stats look great. Lori's suggestion is food about increasing calories.
Lori- picnic, WW meeting, dinner put with DH - sounds like a perfect Saturday! Cindi's back?
Meg- hope all is well for you.
I'm intensely busy - even more than usual. We had hail damage to house and farm building and I'm the 'general contractor.'. Things are insane with the cost of steel increasing every other week and I have about 5 days to check with insurance and purchase steel roofing. Plus we bought DHs uncle's farmstead and I've been cleaning the house, washing carpets, pulling down old wall paper, etc... It is a sweet little house and remarkably clean seeing it has been sitting empty for 12+ years. I am having fun decorating.
Today a friend of mine exchanged most of the furniture in her Airbnb for our labor to empty the house. I had 5 teenagers, me, and DH. Whew!! Big job. But I now have lovely couch, leather chairs, DR table, dinnerware + a set of china, pots, pans, bed, dresser, tv, etc... Our little farmhouse looks very nice!!
Once I have a bit more work done, we will turn it into a farm stay Airbnb. Wish me luck!!
Like I needed ANOTHER side job!! I spent one vacation days this week shampooing carpets in 98 degree weather.
Not surprising, I lost weight this week despite eating ice cream most nights because I only wanted to eat cold foods 😏
So grateful to be able to join in here.
Kathy

Day 116. No racquetball today because I had a church meeting and then watched the GKs for half a day. (I can't really say "babysit" any more.)
Nancy: I'm so impressed with your consistency. I can learn so much from you!
Jan: I never got clips on my bike pedals because I KNEW what would happen. Take care.
Lori: Family time at the shore - sounds delightful.
Kathy: Good to read your update. You have such energy! A farmhouse BNB sounds great. Is there a call for such a thing on the great prairie? Maybe people come for "Little House" sightseeing?
We had a nice little thunderstorm earlier (so I don't have to water - yay!), but now the sun is out. Tomorrow I'm taking my friend out to lunch; she graduated from high school today. I'm very proud of her because she came to the U.S. just 3 years ago and had a baby 2 years ago. Most girls never finish school once they have a baby.
Take care, all.

Jan - That certainly is a rough situation. I just hope she turns out to be an easy child to take care of. I'm sure they appreciate your help, as they certainly need the occasional break. Does the great grandfather take an active role?
Lori - Coincidently my calories came to 1394 today. 69 of those calories were an unplanned slice of 647 and two bite size prunes. I just felt like something extra while I was making my salad. Actually my weight was up by .1 this week <g>. Your walk with your friend reminds me of our walks around the lake at Menlo Park.
Meg - Wow! Your friend certainly deserves kudos. What an accomplishment. So nice of you to help her celebrate.
Kathy - Yep, Cindi's back. She lost 28 lbs in the last two months. She sounds good and has, happily, survived the pandemic. Hopefully she'll continue posting. I'm exhausted just reading about all you do. I was wondering when we'd hear from you. Now I know why you've been MIA.
