WELCOME TO REGULAR & NEW POSTERS! This thread is full of encouragement & suggestions. New people, welcome! We encourage you to jump in. One day, one hour, one minute at a time is easier to handle than a week, etc. Lurkers, join in
Our goal is 21 days Binge Free (studies show 21 days to break old habits & start new ones!). Whether we make 21 or one, the point is to learn as we go, replace binges with other things to help us through stressful times. Some days are harder than others & we may slip; that's OK. The Binge Monster is in the shadows waiting to pounce. Hopefully this thread provides inspiration, courage, & support to become a Binge Survivor!
You may see different folks on different "Cycles." A Cycle is a 21 day block of consecutive binge-free days. Stay with us for as many cycles as you'd like.
Everyone's definition of a BINGE is different. The Oxford Dictionary defines a binge as a spree of eating and drinking. To many of us, BINGE is defined as "eating without dignity." The dictionary defines "dignity" as a calm and serious manner or style, showing suitable formality or indicating that one deserves respect. Only you can define what a binge is for you. Going over points, as long as it was done with dignity and journaled (thereforeacknowledged and "owned") isn't binging--it is up to you to decide.
SPECIAL THANKS TO LESLIE5609 for starting this challenge on the Out of Control Board, in August '02, and thanks to all who keep it going.

My calorie count includes a piece of carrot cake. Iโm thrilled that I counted it! We have a get-together next Friday evening, so Iโm saving the strawberry rhubarb pie until then. The rhubarb will still be ok to use, and strawberries are plentiful right now. Itโs win/win, I get to enjoy some pie but I wonโt have an entire pie to contend with. (Just in case no one in my house likes it.)
Meg, many congratulations to your friend. Iโm sure you played a large part in her success.
Kathy, wow!! Will you be using a management service to handle bookings?
Nancy, the great grandfather is the primary caregiver for the little girl. Heโs absolutely exhausted. Sheโs extremely well behaved for me, but of course will occasionally give him a hard time. I started The Great Alone yesterday and am enjoying it. I normally only listen to audiobooks when Iโm running but listened while I worked around the house yesterday too. Itโs amazing to me how recurrent things are, i.e. civil unrest and fear of government control (pandemic is mentioned more than once). The more things change, the more they stay the same.
Lori, beautiful pictures from your walk yesterday!

Good morning Ladies! DH decided on a steak dinner last night. We went to Outback and I enjoyed grilled salmon, salad and mixed veggies - so good! Dessert, at home, was a mug cake, light ice cream with fresh strawberries, drizzle of chocolate syrup, cool whip and a sprinkle of mini chocolate chips - yum! Great healthy eating day!
Nancy, I was also thinking of Menlo Park yesterday....wonderful memories! Jan, great timing to make the pie! Win/win!! Nice job counting the cake! Once I started thinking of calories as data, it made it easier to count everything... Meg, Congratulations to your friend! Enjoy your lunch! Kathy, WOW, you have a lot going on....exciting about the Airbnb - Wishing you much success!! Prices on all building material is insane. We had to put our new deck on hold - kicking myself for not just getting it done when we got the estimate pre-pandemic, price more than doubled.... Cindi, hope tour weekend is going well!

Jan - Talk about strawberries, I have a new breakfast for a change. A half cup Dannon Vanilla light & fit yogurt with either sliced banana, cantalope or strawberries mixed in and 2 honey maid graham cracker squares which I dip into the yogurt as well. So it totals 4 points and approximately 200 calories...refreshing and filling. Today I had a salted caramel built bar with a glass of fairlife ff milk for breakfast. 5 points and 210 calories. Tomorrow I'm having an ounce of Boarshead light liverwurst on a slice of 647 and a banana. Just trying to keep it interesting. Talking of breakfast, seems Peter Pan whipped pnb has been discontinued. Very disappointing as that's been a breakfast regular. Kudos for counting the carrot cake. I still can't get myself to do that.
Kathy - Coincidentally, my friend's son took her to an Airbnb this weekend. I'm anxious to hear how it worked out. What sort of services will you have to provide or just the room with fresh linens and such.
Lori - We used to like Outback especially when they had the steak and lobster tail special. Unfortunately I also discovered that they have the best mac n cheese in existence for a side. For fun I just looked it up - 850 calories, 31 points <g>. Also the kids used to like their mini milk shakes in which I tended to participate. Looked that up too. 600 calories, 30 points. I guess it's a good thing I don't get out much.

Hey, everybody! Kathy, when my grandson who lives in Kansas graduated my sis and son stayed at a BNB out in the country, they loved it. They also had a trailer park and we took our trailer and stayed there. It was so nice looking all around and seeing country fields. Your BNB sounds just precious. I think of that being a true get away and imagine a lot of people will think that too. Jan, can't believe how old your boys are now. Nancy, I can't believe you are 81! My Sunday School class is 70 and 80 year olds, I just love everyone in there. You know, nowadays I hear a lot of grandparents raising their grandkids, but great-grandkids that would be tough. Would have been on yesterday, but was pooped out from scrubbing on our 21 year old carpet in spots and then shampooing too. Who ever picked out light carpet and living in the country with a lot of Okla red clay in various spots was not to bright. Should I blame DH for this? (g) But I have to say it's really looking better, is just going to take a while. We had our anniversary Friday, 44 years. As DH's old boss used to say, that sure is a long time to be married to the wrong woman, says DH. Jaxon turned 23 yesterday, 13 more days and he will be out of the army. He's already enrolled for fall, aviation degree/helicopter pilot. Madelyn turns 10 today, so better give her a call. Micah will start this fall too, sports medicine. Catch ya'll later. Love ya, Cindy

Hi all. Nice to see everyone's notes. Weird Sunday with my Boys leaving for Bible camp for a week, fight with DH, and my birth mom visiting. That's a lot of emotional stuff. Wish I drank lol ๐ฅด.
Not such a good day food wise.
Onward!
Kathy

Cindy - Not quite 81 - July 18th. Happy anniversary! 44 years. Imagine that. But then we're going on 58, also in July. On our way to our honeymoon, I remember thinking "if this lasts til the end of the year, it will be a miracle" <g>
Kathy - Crazy day indeed. I'm glad you don't drink. As for the food, understandable. Tomorrow is a new day, fresh with no mistakes in it.
