Today was a lovely day with very comfortable inside temperatures. The high was 73 degrees. The past two days were unbelievable for June here - above 90. I used ice packs to help stay somewhat comfortable.
Both of my DKG went back to school in April. They just finished the semester. My DGD is doing okay but not as well as she has at times, also not as poorly as she has. The brain fog and pain that accompany Ehlers Danlos Syndrome interfere. Her last set of blood tests was good.
Just keeping up with some of what I could/should do in the house is too much. hb is getting fussier about what he'll eat, and he’s eating less. I worry about what a fall could mean, and I’m grateful for each day that doesn’t have some kind of catastrophe. His decline is faster now, but he’s still ambulatory. Increased trouble finding words. Some strange substitutions.
I’m not doing much of anything crafty now. My main objective is to do a little organization of things as I come across them!
I have to go into town tomorrow or Friday, probably Friday since I’m not ready with the things I need to do!
I’ll be back eventually!

Sue it's great to hear from you again. You do have a lot of trials in your life and a lot to worry about. We don't care here if you're crafting or not, we just like to see you and know you're ok. So they decided that your dgd has Ehler- Danlos syndrome rather that, if I remember correctly, appendix cance? I know there are several types or classes of E-D and a many, if not all of the types can cause things that mimic other conditions or diseases. Does anyone else in your family have this or anyone in her other parents family? ( I think you said she is your daughter's child)

good morning, Sue I am sorry you have so many trials going on now. you are doing the best you can.
yesterday while out for errands ,I stopped at the local quilt shop, they just reopened MONDAY.I can see why there will not be sew days for the summer.that back room/class room we sew is loaded to the gills.
Baby lock and Bernia machines all over the place, cabinets, fabric, books and tables are loaded with bags of stuff.Don counted a table with 15 machines ,waiting to be repaired.
the tables are new butcher block tables, very pretty.the door we come in from the parking lot ,use to have tables right there is loaded with boxes of machines.be interesting to see how much of this stuff they sell.
I WILL BELIEVE WE ARE BACK TO SEW DAYS WHEN THEY SEND US A EMAIL.not suppose to happen till fall.
I did buy 2 fat quarters and a Christmas table cloth runner pattern.
today I meeting Delona for lunch, this will be our second time since the virus started. PHYL

hello Everyone Ginny - I'm glad your DD is still doing well and I hope everything goes well with her appointment and with the baby Ruth - Hope your projects are coming along well today Sue - I'm glad you are having some nicer weather and that your DGD is doing better. I'm sorry to hear about the problems your DH has. I know how difficult it is to take care of a family member with health issues. Hope you take care of yourself too Phyl - I'm glad you were able to visit the quilt shop and I hope you enjoy your lunch with Delona The weather has been beautiful here yesterday and today - low humidity, sunny and nice temperatures. I've enjoyed having some of the windows open. I went out again yesterday and took care of more errands. I haven't gone out twice in a week for awhile, and don't miss all that running around I finished attaching the bindings to the last group of quilts and just have to sew them down - which I hope to get done tomorrow. I might try some stitch in the ditch this time. Then I need to clear off the work table. I have all the ends of the binding left to figure out what to do with. Fortunately they are all 2.5 inches wide so I can just put them with my 2.5 inch strips. I only have 2 quilted pieces left that need binding - one is a Jelly Roll Race quilt and the other is the smaller wholecloth piece I hand quilted and finished earlier this year. I may try to get both of these done by the end of the month, just have to see how I feel. I'm kind of tired of doing binding Take care everyone!

Sue, its good to hear from you! As Ruth said, its absolutely fine to show up and have no crafting to report...we are all friends here and support each other. You sure do have a lot on your plate at the moment. Will keep you - your DH and DgD in prayer as this is a stressful time. Do you still have that aide/ helper who comes and assists with respite care? Take full advantage of him (I hope he is still with you!). Probably best to take really good care of yourself right now as much as you can while still caring for Dh. We are always here to listen....glad to hear that the last set of bloodwork for DGD was good.
Ruth, quiet day for you, what have you been up to?
Phyl-nice to hear that you are starting to do normal things again, Bet it felt great to get out with Delona for lunch! Not sure if my LQS is starting up classes or not. Like your LQS mine sort of redecorated and redesigned the interior of the shop. Glad you were able to find some goodies- fat quarters and a Christmas table runner. Hard to believe that the year is almost half over and only 6 months to Christmas.
CJ-Cannot imagine why you are sick of binding!!! How many different quilts have you bound in the past weeks?? Interesting question what to do with leftover binding, I am tempted to discard them sometimes but it is a useful width. So nice to have good weather to enjoy- and get those pesky errands out of the way.

Got a lot of housework done this afternoon and even some gardening. For some reason only one green bean germinated (this years seeds) so I suspect the birds got the seeds. Replanted them. Now am going to read and relax. I figure I will get back to quilting or crochetting over the weekend when its too hot to want to be outside.

Hello everyone. I was here earlier and just read didn't post.
Phyl, I hope you had a good time with your friend Delona.
CJ, I'm sure you will make good use of those binding leftovers
Ginny, sorry about the birds eating your seeds. I hope the new ones you planted stay safe. I'm guessing your dd is not in labor yet.
I'm been kind of a frustrating day. I had to change dh's prescriptions to home delivery because I'm sick of the pharmacy here messing up sending his meds. Some meds he actually has a couple months supply in reserve but of course the pharmacy neglected to send the ONE that he always uses up each month. I hope the online, deliver to home pharmacy will do better. It's the one I use and they've been ok. There have been glitches with them too but not so bad. I had a hard time getting info into their site but that was mainly my fault. Then I made a phone call to another company and just got a "call us back later sometime" message. Plus my shawl cardigan pattern changed abruptly, as if it wasn't written badly enough already, and she just left number of how many total stiches we should have in the remaining rows even though other info is needed for each row. Good news, and this probably sounds cold, but found out the grands and my dd and sil are going camping when the kids come from Montana so we don't have to go there after all. I did finish all the water balloons so will give them to dd sometimes so they can use them this summer. Place they're going camping is in the mountain and no swimming although I'm sure there's water so they still could have used them.So the rest of the evening I'm going to see if I can get back on track with this pattern.I have too much done now to give up.

Good afternoon!
Ruth, How discouraging that this pattern just is a pain in the neck. Can you somehow contact the designer to see what his/her intent is for these directions? I wonder if others have had similar issues with this pattern. I have made patterns from the Lion Brand site, even some crocheting web site (get their emails all the time) and frequently those directions have been edited, or others comment about a flaw in them. No- does not sound cold at all. You know the circumstances of this visit- the social plans involved, the personalities involved. Sometimes its nice if these visits can be limited. I know in the future I might be travelling to where some of my cousins live- and if I could visit them in a limited duration visit I might do so, but I doubt that is possible. Therefore I might skip seeing them altogether - which I am sure sounds cold, but i think we all understand.
Dd is in the hospital- in labor but not sure how quickly she is progressing. Waiting to hear from DSIL. Good thing the hospital is close by.

Ginny, how exciting that your dd is in labor and you'll have a new grandchild soon to hold in your arms!! Keep us posted!
It's cooler here today...only 85 so far.
Yes I did contact the pattern writer and designer and a lot of people mentioned various problems they had with this pattern. There was only one comment that said the pattern is well written and easy. But then she admitted that one side of her shawl/cardigan is longer than the other so even though she thought it was easy it was because she didn't do it correctly, undoubtedly because of the pattern.

And I am sure that whatever you figure out will be at least as good as and probably better than the original pattern. Why waste your time on a problematic pattern? Glad you straightened it all out. thanks for the prayers.
Got to the hospital and got to meet the baby! So sweet and so tiny....seems like a healthy little fellow and Dd looks great. They will be going home on Sunday. Had a bit of a reunion at the hospital. The labor and delivery nurse who is working the night shift for Dd was also the nurse who assisted with my son’s delivery! She had just moved to this area and was a very young nurse at the time.So nice to see her, and it made her feel good to know she was remembered.

Hello Ginny - Congratulations on the new DGS! I'm glad everything went well with his birth and that you've already been to see him. How nice to see that nurse you had when you had your DS Ruth - I'm glad you figured out a way to work that pattern. Phyl and Sue - Hope you are well. This morning I started sewing down the bindings on the quilts I finished yesterday. I got about half way through them and then I had to take a break. I hope to finish them off this weekend. Then I'll count them up and see how many I did over the last few weeks I tried stitching in the ditch on a few of them, and I liked it using a special presser foot for my sewing machine. But I stitched up on the binding a bit on 2 of them and had to rip out those stitches and stitch that area again. After that I went to original method of sewing on the binding. I'll save the stitch in the ditch for special quilts. I may also go ahead and make the bindings for the last 2 quilts I have ready to bind. I'd like to get them done by the end of the month. I have several other projects I need to get done by the end of the month too. I was watching a few quilting videos from a new person I found. She does some hand quilting in big stitch and she did a tutorial for making the Baptist Fan pattern for quilting. I love this pattern and have always wanted to quilt a quilt in it. I ordered some of the tools she used to do the marking and once I get them I'm going to give it try. Here's a link to the video if you'd like to watch it (you may be able to skim over it since a lot of it is technical about making the marking template): www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Ue9X6JBbOEI also ordered a few quilt patterns from her online shop. I like how you can just download a PDF of a quilt pattern now. I don't need all those paper patterns in my house and I've found that for most of the PDF ones I only need to print a few pages of it. This pattern is one of them and I want to make it with colors that will look like the Smoky Mountains, or Blue Ridge Mountains - I think those colors would be pretty: patchworkandpoodles.com/product/misty-mountains-pdf/Take care everyone and have a good weekend!

CJ, that Baptist Fan quilting pattern is so interesting and I love how she repurposes things like the the cutting mats. I've found that a lot of things like that come in very handy for crafts of various kinds. For instance when I want an amigurumi to stand better I put discs that I cut out of the plastic tops from coffee cans, cottage cheese containers etc. I made a bowling set for #3 grandson when he was younger..he's 7 now...and put some of those in the botton of the pins so they would stand. They were so cute...the pins looked like penguins. I also love the mountains in that second link. I'll be looking forward to seeing your finished one.
Ginny, how nice that that nurse was still there! I know she appreciated finding out you remembered her.

Congratulations on your new grandson, Ginny.
J the caregiver graduated and had to get a full time job. He did the grocery shopping for me every other week during the year of covid. I need to find a new person, but I’m extremely spoiled after three years of the perfect person and was extremely helpful to me. He liked to be busy and did dishes, mopped floors, took hb places, moved things that were too heavy.
Ruth, my granddaughter’s EDS - hypermobile type was diagnosed several years ago. The malignant neuroendocrine tumor in her appendix was a separate issue.
Today I made a fast trip to the bank to take care of some things on my list and then went around the corner to the insurance agent. I was still south of Main Street. After today, I can do everything online.
