I finally cancelled my subscription to WW online. I haven't been using the program for months and I have gained back most of the weight I lost while on program. I have found it is just too time consuming to make point friendly meals and portion them correctly with all the other stuff I have to do. So I bought the Nutrisystem basic plan for men. The meals are proportioned and I don't have to worry about tracking points, etc. As the ad says - just eat the food and lose the weight. After I reach my goal of losing about 60 pounds I may come back to Weight Watchers for maintenance. The only thing I was using the WW website for was the community message boards and when those went away I had no other reason to stay.

Gary, good luck with your new weight loss program. I hope you do well. I think in your situation a single man just planning meals for yourself this will probably get the weight loss moving again. WW is a good program because it teaches us how to eat but sometimes we need a change. Let us know how you are doing.

Wow, just heard on Fox News that Bill O'Reilly is leaving Fox News due to allegations of sexual harassment against him. I had seen previous speculation about it on the internet, but because of the fake news epidemic I refused to believe it until confirmed directly by Fox News - which came today. It was quite a shock for me to hear because I like Bill O'Reilly.

Life is hectic right now, but wanted to add my disappointment in the way the O'Reilly thing was handled. It was no secret that there were some "allegations" and demands for money. As most people know, the costs and time to go thru a lawsuit can be astronomical. He never spoke about them publicly because then that gives "legs" to something that could really be nothing. Recently, CNN and the New York Times have been rehashing older stories and CNN started contacting advertisers to get them to stop airing ads on O'Reilly. A typical liberal leftist ploy. Then all the libs start their phone harassment at Fox, and on and on. Back in December O'Reilly mentioned on air a few times that he was rethinking what he wants to do with rest of his life. So, I guess the decision was made for him. I don't think he will go away quietly into the night. According to an article I read on either the Daily Caller or Brietbart, the "last straw was when an unidentified black clerical worker claimed O'Reilly called her 'hot chocolate'." The only good thing to come out of this is that Tucker Carlson will now be on at 8. Mark my words, the left will start going after him next. What a sorry bunch of losers.

I am still trying to digest all this Bill O'Reilly news today. I didn't always agree with Bill and I didn't watch him every day but I always thought he was fair and balanced and he did a lot of good. He fought for causes he believed in. I think Fox has made a big mistake letting him go. I wonder who the left will go after next? I think that some of these women who accuse men of sexual harassment exaggerate because they have found someone with deep pockets that they can make some money from. I am sure there are genuine cases of sexual harassment but it is odd that these women come out of no where years later.
There are people on Fox that I still like and I will tune in. The other net works don't offer anything I want to watch.

I agree, allegations of sexual harassment, abuse and the like are often manufactured by "gold diggers". I am sure sexual harassment and abuse DO occur more often than we want to admit, but there are also "gold diggers" who crawl out of the woodwork to get their share of the lawsuit.
My first Nutrisystem order has not yet arrived. In the meantime I have lots of left over Easter ham and scalloped potatoes which will last me until the order arrives. Then there will be a transition for me from eating whatever I want whenever I want to disciplining myself to only eat the food Nutrisystem provides. I guess my order will be divided into two orders - one will be frozen and the other will be non-perishable items.

Now here is something funny in a morbid sort of way. A guest on Tucker Carlson told this story:
A woman had a husband who was dying but who hated President Trump. So the woman told her dying husband that Trump had been impeached so the husband could die in peace and he did! He may be a bit upset looking down from heaven knowing the truth!

It was on the news today that Syria has moved all its war planes to a Russian air base. Some say it is a clever move, but I have a feeling if any of those planes are used to drop chemical weapons Trump will bomb that airbase too. And since all their planes are together he'll get them all this time.

The Syrians have mixed their planes with Russian planes. If I were Trump and ANY plane from that airbase were to be used for dropping chemical weapons the whole base would go up in smoke.

Good luck with the food I hope it tastes good. My DS has decided to do the cooking here which is great. The only problem is that what he cooks is not good for my blood sugar. The good part about living alone is that you can please yourself.
I hope we don't have to bomb the Syrians again because they keep saying we are on the verge of was. Reminds me of when we were in Germany in the early 60s and we were all briefed about evacuation. We lived on an AF base. Fortunately that didn't happen. |

North Korea is holding 25 million people hostage in South Korea. If we do anything militarily to North Korea, South Korea will be the first ones they attack. What a mess!

I finally unfriended my brother-in-law on Facebook after the disgusting vile things he said about Sarah Palin. He was virtually unrepentant after I called him out on it so for the first time I unfriended someone on FB. I wouldn't even say those kind of things about any woman, even a disgusting one like Nancy Pelosi or Elizabeth warren or even Hilary Clinton.
