Z, I agree abut buying rugs from HD. I got the FR ones there and I still really like them. Also my days of having the interior decorator in for a visit are over. It is always fun to do at least once but then I think it is cheaper and more fun to do it myself now. Also my migraines used to be off the graph so I had black out curtains and overlayed them with some others. It seems like I sewed the black outs to the back of the regular ones on the tops. Anyway they looked great. I shudder thinking back to those times and am incredibly grateful that now they are about 20 to 30% as bad as they used to be. Back on what is interesting---->which would be crafting. Your ideas sound wonderful!!!
I can't use my fans at the moment since all windows must remain closed 24/7. I thought we were in for a big break but I can see that the smoke is wifting in again. Drats! Today was a really lovely day. Cool, cloudy and relatively smokeless. This morning I opened all windows though and brought out the fans since I decided that I would get some new smoke in the house. I was exceptionally tired of that old stuff. The smoke situation was epic this last weekend. I made lemonade out of those lemons by becoming extremely busy so lots got done.
Today I cleaned the K thoroughly, worked more on the FR so everyday I am forging ahead and the house really does look nice. My new throw pillow covers came; one set I really like, the others I haven't made up my mind yet. Just that little change makes such a difference. Back to cleaning--progress was made in the laundry room and one bathroom.
Got an audit done and started watering on the left side of the house I am thinking I will call that area Fiesta! since DH and I bought some of those incredibly colorful Hispanic type pots (at HD) and put them beside both of the benches that are in that area. The website paintedskydesign.com has the Sunflower bench on the home page, the tree bench is used as the bench category one. Also got the butterfly one and a rose one. This may seem like a lot of benches but really isn't due to the areas sizes.
I ordered a number of whimsical birdhouses from Etsy. These are just adorable and will be hanging from some of those trees in the yards. Not sure what I will call the right side of the house. It needs some TLC to deal with the hose mess that is out there but I will overcome!!! I need to get out in the regular yard and thin out my very overgrown Iris plants that I have not worked on ever before the bulbs come that I ordered. I will have spectacular irises! I am trying to turn myself into a gardener and it is working. This needs to be a delightful hobby since it has to be done anyway. DH did get the drip system to many of the new plants which has resulted in somewhat less work. Hooray!!!
Onward this has turned into a book>>>>>>

Good Morning,
Loved reading your post! Throw pillow covers, easy change and so fun to play with! I'm sorry about the smoke issue. The "Fiesta Area" of the garden sound wonderful! Good work on the house and audit. What shop did you buy the houses from? I might enjoy looking at those!
This morning, like right now, I'm taking DD to her wisdom teeth extraction appointment. May the force be with use here for smooth sailing....please, please, please!
Craft: I made a mess, but cleaned it up, and made this, which I think is one of my favorite designs yet. Though I did use some filters to get this coloration. I was pleased with the original colors and papers used, but it was not photographing well at all, can't really explain this. However, I think if photoshopping makes something look better, I'm not against it. I'd like to try to do another type of humminbird and flower in today or in next couple of day. I also did some wilder more intense photoshopping of this image, which I will share later, but this one is my favorite. It is mainly paper with a few bits of fabric on the leaves/flowers.
Okay, must go.

I absolutely love your avatar!!! Not much to even talk about today because I started n the morning and spent the entire day working on two audits which I did manage to get done. Currently I just have 8 more to do. There are about 6 that haven't responded enough to be able to start their work. If I can just get those 8 done by next Friday I will be a free woman! And then I will need to work on the stragelers as they come in.
Tomorrow more of the same. If I can stay very motivated I will get to go to HL on Friday. There are some things I want to pick up.
Hope you are having a relaxing pleasant evening!!!

Good Morning,
Way to persevere on the audit work!!! You are doing GREAT!!! Hoping you get info you need to keep moving forward. What is "HL"?
Avatar: Here is another hummingbird. This one uses Victorian Murray wall paper cut from a calendar paper friend gave me. Then I had this tone on tone green in vine & leaf pattern which sort of mimicked the leaf border patterns, which I just sort of followed lines of to cut plant shapes, then cut some flower petals from different paper for flowers. He had a different tail, but I changed it because the old tail got "lost" and the feather accent of it was too bright a yellow and stood out too much. So I think this is better. Cropping tool...hmm. I realize that if I want to make mini gift card enclosures on these if I use the 5x7 aspect ratio tool it will do it perfectly to what is needed ratio wise and I really only lose a bit of the side border area, which for the 2.5 x 3.5 " size mini notecard is not a huge deal and still have the accent of a thicker top/bottom border parts for accent. THese mini cards look better with an even outer border area of the card stock they are glued to rather than worrying about the size of the border area within the image itself. Also because I'm making these on 8.5"x11" card stock, they size down perfectly for an 4.25x5.5" notecard, which is the size I always make anyway, they fill the card with pretty even border areas to start out with. I am not sure how many more of these I want to try, hummingbird or other, I fine selecting the background themes more challenging than the birds and how to make them not end up being samo-samo if that makes sense.
House: I find I'm doing nothing. I Must make more daily efforts here in the garage, thinning, organizing, what is there. This really needs to be happening. I did hand water some outside grass areas that either are not getting watered enough, or the sprinkler is not hitting properly. I may have to institute using timer to work out in the garage and do this in spurts throughout the day. There are boxes that need brought in. DD has plan to do clothing stuff, which we'll work on together she says, so hopefully this starts happening, goes smoothly and is fun and we can start on this.
DD seems to be recovering okay, she seems to alternate between the prescription Ibuprofen and the regular but has not needed the biggie pain killer so that's good.
Hope your day is off to a good start.

Z, Another great avatar! We must be on the same wave length about the timer since I started setting it for certain chores recently. However I might set it for as long as four hours. It does seem to help since I don't feel like focusing lately. I went to town yesterday and today mostly to get the weekly grocery shopping done and to get supplies for the projects I am working on. I will have to discipline myself to finish a few that have already been started. Not too sure what is going to happen this weekend. Seems like DH is in cranky mode so I definitely will not suggest doing anything together. Just finished my quick vac, dusting and have been very careful to keep everything put away and picked up so the house looks really good. I have been working on cleaning up the horrid dust as I notice it in places I normally would not dust like I have to now. Tomorrow I will get the flowers put in the pots that are in Fiesta (left side of house outside the formal yard). They are going to look great!!! Also want to spray paint the stakes needed to stand up the metal sunflowers--these are fairly nice as they were done by a professional artist type. The ground is not firm but rather kind of sandy so it is difficult to just stick something in it and have it stay in place. One wonderful thing is that I never have mud. The dogs never have muddy feet.
I decided to name the right side of the house outside the formal yard Mariposa which means butterfly and have started making plans and have a few things I can do about those hoses that are everywhere supposedly to water the trees. However not all trees are getting watered. This is a frustrating situation caused by someone else and then inherited by me. I will overcome by making improvements in sections.
I want to get so much done!!! This weekend I will finish up as many things as I can. Not that there are a lot but I think there are. Lots of times lately I make such a big deal out of chore like it will take a couple of years to get it done rather than a couple of minutes. That's one of the reasons I started Flying.

Good Morning,
I'm loving the names for your yard zones! Good effort with the inside cleaning/maintenance work as well! I understand the mentality about the chores but think you do a very good job tackling what needs to be done in a pretty timely way! The pots sound as if they will adorable!
Yesterday TaDas: -ran three loads of DD's laundry -washed hand wash items -emptied DW, reloaded, ran it, emptied again -3 trips to grocery store, for food, special food, and supplies for DD -bought DH his food, made a greek salad, (we love this salad and I never knew it was so easy!) and prepared DD different soft foods throughout day. -brought two bags of DD's down to her to go through, one is a back pack from I think middle school, that needs purged and the other was a bag of purses, small purses. THese need sorted and purged. I also then took three smaller back packs which were partially full of items and said needed to be emptied, decided if the packs wanted to be saved and/or what items from inside packs needed saved. Sooooo many back packs. But they are logo ones from different teams she's been on, nice ones, school ones, on and on.
Today TaDas: -rebooted laundry x1, DH work out stuff -loaded DW rest of way and ran it
Garage: a cooler day here, no excuses for not working out in garage. Boxes need to be brought back into house for different areas that still need sorted through, mainly for DD stuff. Also I need to seek and destroy stash and dash type carp that needs trashed, donated, breakdown boxes etc., organize, etc.
Craft: I am trying to get one more bird collage design done so I have a set of five.

Z, My screen saver is a hummingbird mom feeding her little one in her tiny nest. The baby would be quite a sight to see. Once DH and I were at the San Diego Zoo. A hummingbird in the bird sanctuary came up and picked fibers off of the sweater DH was wearing to make her nest. We used to have a lot of HBs prior to these drought years and they would get in incredible arguments. I ended up with a perfect specimen, put it in a jar and gave it to my nephew. That HB traveled around from class to class in his primary school for many years. It was so neat for the children to be able to see on up close like that. The colors were remarkable. DH lost his TT so we worked in the Mariposa and got so much done!!! All of those hoses and drip system ones have been buried and it looks 200% better. My birdhouses have shipped and I can't wait to see how they will look in the various trees.
I need to work on EMP tomorrow. Sometimes I tell myself "I am not even going to listen to you" when I get started about not wanting to do chores. Sounds ridiculous but it works! Well, maybe not so weird when compared to repeating an affirmation over and over--which also works IMO. Not to be complaining but I will anyway----> the wildfire smoke is a BIG challenge right now and also for the last couple of weeks. It acts as kind of a super hairspray when it gets in my hair so that my hair actually will stand on end when it gets gunked up by the horrendous stuff. DH said it was standing on end when we were in the car today which he skipped telling me about at the time. The way I have made lemonade about this terrible fire is that I have learned so much about wildfire behavior from the daily talks and this helps to keep my head out of the sand. So tomorrow I will go around and rake up any plant debris that has accumulated even somewhat. BTW I have been doing a spectacular job at keeping the pine needles etc -picked up.
End of this month's Stats: 1580 days of daily weighing. In the beginning of this period I thought I only needed to lose 3 or 4 pounds but it turned into around 15 which I have maintained. I was weighing at WW as lifetime at goal before I started this daily weighing but sure had to be face the music about the need to slim down further and am so glad I did.
I decluttered a few things the other day--one top, some dog toys, a book. Great job getting all meals prepared dealing with dental issues and also forging ahead with the box review situation!
Hope you are having a great evening!!!
