HELLO LADIES,
I have been battling either IBS or ACID REFLUX POSSIBILTY, yesterday I did see my P.C..Tuesday I go for the ultrasound.not eat or drink for 8 hours.
he was hoping they could have done it Friday.,but with having breakfast maybe not.not sure what he is looking for.
not sure the last time I was here.WEDNESDAY NITA and Barbara and I went quilt shop hopping. only 2 shops, we started out and it was raining a little,
by the time we got to the shop in LANESBORO MN,THE HEAVENS OPENED UP AND IT WAS NIAGARA FAllS , coming down.
There was water about 2 -2 1/2 inches flowing along the curb.have you tried stepping over the curb with water running and a cane? had to step in the PUDDLE. so we shopped ,Barbara bought 3 yards of purple fabric ,NItA BOUGHT A LOT,I bought fabric with brown pumpkins on it for fall projects and fabric with cabins it.we spent a lot of time in the store.
came out and it was the dam had broken.
beeline for the van. my hair had the overflow of NIGARIA FALLS, good thing I had the fleece throw with me,use that to dry my hair,NITA USED PAPER NAPKINS. so on we got CALENDONIA MN, small shop. I BOUGHT A HALF YARD OF FABRIC FOR BINGING if I EVER GET TO MY machine.,
NITA AND wanted to go to FENNIMORE to a QUILT SHOP,BARBARA DID NOT.SHE IS NICE BUT NOT AS MUCH FUN. so we came back to town and ate at the senior villa.I ordered a taco salad, mostly ate the veggies, few bites of taco meat were spicy so stopped.
it was COLD ,I should have worn jeans or Pants bloating would not let me get into them so shorts, tees shirt, jacket and the throw.

Hello Everyone Ginny - Hope you can get your toilet installed soon and that you had a nice visit with your DD. Enjoy the "cooler" weather while it lasts. Ruth - Sorry to hear you are getting the hotter weather soon. I hope you are able to stay cool in part of your house. Phyl - Sorry to hear about you not feeling well and I hope that the ultrasound next week finds what is wrong. Sue - Hope you are well. It's still hot here, we might get some storms today. My weather station is "broken" again. It's stuck on 90 degrees for an outside temp. I should get a new one I haven't done any quilting today, but have looked at lots of websites and Facebook pages. I needed a break from a project since the last one was kind of stressful. Take care everyone

CJ- i know the starlite quilt top was a headache for you, not because it was beyond your ability level but because of the colors used. It also appears as though you inserted sashing between the blocks - which also brightened the quilt. A modification of the pattern for sure, but it worked beautifully. And if I am wrong forgive me- my pattern is in the next room and I am too lazy to get up and check. Take a break….stay comfortable. And a weather station that is broken? sorry to hear that as I remember you just replace the battery on it. We sure do get spoiled by those little conveniences don’t we? (I have a weather station also).
Phyl- hope they can figure out why you have bloating so that you can be more comfortable. It would be nice if they can get the test done soon so you can get treatment soon and feel better. Sounds as though you needed an ark with all the rain you experienced! Always a good idea to get more fabric for bindings….did you have a project in mind for that binding fabric? Despite the rain, it sounds as though you had a nice trip. Bet its good to be home though.
Ruth, the toilet was actually leaking to the floor below (so I have a sheet rock repair). So I guess I have 3 suspects, a crack in the waste line, a crack in the water supply line or the toilet- and therefore the wax ring. Of course I am hoping that the wax ring/toilet solves the problem. As it stands now, the ceiling below has a hole cut in it- Ds and I were not able to see where the leak came from, and there is no leak right now and that toilet is not in use. So I am in for another sheet rock repair. Not good at it, but getting better. Funny that folks are asking about the yarn for those totes. Cotton yarn begs to do that - and acrylic would work but cotton would do it so much better.
Got some sub cutting done on the quilt yesterday and I am getting the hang of how these directions are written. Tea seems to like the fabric for her quilt as I find her sitting on it frequently. Of course, she just likes to sit on fabric….Last night I attended a free concert in town - we listened to a local band who does covers of many different songs. It was actually very good. The weather was a bit shaky and some showers. But we stayed in the car with the windows open, and still were able to hear well and see well. I went with a woman from bible study, also a widow- I used to drive her children to school when they were little.
For me, the temperatures are suppose to be cooler this week, but still very muggy.
See ya later Ginny

Hello Everyone - Hope you are all well today It's such a nice day here today - there's a breeze and temps are in the low 80s. So nice compared to yesterday when my house got so hot from the heat outside. I sure wish we could have more of these nice days mixed in with the hot ones in the summertime. I haven't been working on anything, but I did pull 2 fabrics (from the same line) that I think I will use to make another one of those Irish Chain quilts like I did with the Fireworks fabric. It's an easy quilt to make and I'm enjoying using up fabrics I've had for years and can't figure out what to do with. This fabric has lilacs on it. I made myself a low calorie Mocha Frappe today and it was good. I used to make these alot a few years ago, but I don't think I made any last year. I'll have to make a few more this summer. Ginny - I'm glad you enjoyed the concert, it's so nice they have these free events for people to go to. I know a town about 25 miles from where I live has weekly concerts like this. I hope you can get things fixed with your toilet and don't have any damage. I'm sure your kitty will love the quilt when it's done, I look forward to seeing it and hearing what she thinks. Phyl - Good luck on getting the binding done on your quilt, glad you found some fabric for it. I think you would like the Starlite quilt. It is not a difficult pattern and the blocks turn out very pretty. Ruth - I hope your weather is O.K. today and you are getting some crocheting done. Sue - Hope you are well. Speaking about binding - it's funny but I really miss making binding. I guess I did so much of it last month that it became a habit I'm still hoping to machine quilt a few tops this month and bind them too. I'm going to check out the blogs on Slow Sunday Stitching now. I've been looking at Facebook pages today too and found some patterns I'd like to make, never enough time for all of them though. Take care everyone!

Phyl, I'm sorry to hear that you are still suffering the gi symptoms. It sounds pretty painful with the bloating so bad that you can't wear your clothing. I'm glad you have proactive doctors that have ordered an ultra sound and will probably order other tests if needed. We could sure use some of that rain you talked about.
Ginny, I hope you had a nice visit with your dd yesterday. Did you have dinner together? The music program sounds very nice. It's not something I would do probably but what a nice way to spend an evening for those that enjoy music. You can work on Tea's quilt another day. She seems happy resting on the fabric.
It's very hot today and is supposed to stay hot for a week at which time it will start a week of high 80's rather than 90's.
I ripped out my latest tote back back to where I could revise the pattern and make something similar. I just didn't like how large it was getting and how large the openings were. I looked like a fishing net. It's sitting downstairs waiting for me to decide what to do with what's remaining and in the meantime I started another. It's one that a blogger has as a CAL but she has week 2's directions on her site and from what I see I already know how to do next week's part which is just the top and handles so I decided to do it. I usually don't like CAL's because after doing the first part and putting it down to wait for the next section, I'd probably not pick it up again. Luckily this one has only three parts. And I was really happy I did this because this is the first I've ever been able to make the bag bottom correctly. Finally realized I needed to stop guessing about how many times I did the repeats and keep actual track of them. I actually ended up with the correct number of stitches and all in the right places!!!!

Ruth, that is quite something that you ended up with the correct number of stitches sort of by accident! Well sort of by accident. Glad you were able to find a CAL that will work for you with only 3 parts. Stay comfortable in the very hot weather….remember to drink a lot!!
CJ-so you miss bindings?? Now that you have mastered them you miss them! Well the bad thing is that now if you are going to truly finish all your quilts you need batting and backing- an additional expense for sure. Looking forward to seeing the Irish chain quilt with the lilac fabrics. That sounds awfully pretty. Is the low calorie mocha frappe easy to make? Would love to see the recipe if you have the time to post it.
Painted the family room and got 3 of the 4 walls done. I will work on the 4th this week, but I have to make a repair to that wall, so It will be a bit of work other than just painting. I also got the 6, 4patch blocks done for Tea’s quilt. Looks like I have to pick up batting for that as I do not have enough.
Phyl- hope your Sunday went well
Sue how are you doing? How is the new aid working out?
See ya tomorrow ginny

Ginny - You were busy today! I'm glad you have the painting almost done and that you were able to start on the kitten's quilt. Here's how I make the Mocha Frappe Light Mocha Frappe - about 150 calories as written Ingredients: 1 teaspoon Instant Coffee 1 cup Milk - I use Fat free 1 Tablespoon Cocoa Powder - (you could probably leave this out, but it gives a deeper chocolate flavor) 2 Tablespoons Hershey's Lite Syrup (regular or sugar free syrup could probably be used too) 2 Packets of Equal - (could probably use any artificial sweetener} Directions: 1. Make a cup of instant coffee using the coffee mix and 3/4 cup of hot water. Wait until it has cooled and then put in freezer to freeze. I freeze the coffee the day before making the frappe. (Note: I used to make coffee ice cubes in a tray - if you do this it takes 5 ice cubes for the recipe, today I just froze it as one big block of coffee and put that in the blender and it worked fine) 2. In a blender combine the frozen coffee, cup of milk, tablespoon of cocoa powder, Hershey's Lite Syrup, and the Equal. Blend until the consistency you like. 3. Drink and enjoy Note: My version is not very thick. You'd probably have to add less milk to get a thicker version.

Ginny, I wish I was as energetic as you are. Congratulations on getting those 3 walls painted. I'm sure that one of these days..when it's cooler...dh will decide we should paint some of our walls.ON that bag bottom I was very careful, for a change, in making sure I got all the repeats right so that helped. I think now I've got it and will be able to make more in the future with no problem. (as long as I refrain from being a know it all and not following what I know is actually best rather than relying on guesswork) Funny how good things turn out when you do what you should do. As far as your wall repair, you're sure getting a lot of practice and I just know that you do a good job.
CJ, I think that it's great to take some days just to look online and on FB at what others are doing. It gives not only ideas but inspriation as well.
Phyl, great idea to do a wall hanging, table mat, or whatever small thing you can do to liven up your home for the holidays.I really need to get to doing some of the small things I've seen the experts on youtube do such as table mats, potholders, etc.
