WELCOME TO REGULAR & NEW POSTERS! This thread is full of encouragement & suggestions. New people, welcome! We encourage you to jump in. One day, one hour, one minute at a time is easier to handle than a week, etc. Lurkers, join in
Our goal is 21 days Binge Free (studies show 21 days to break old habits & start new ones!). Whether we make 21 or one, the point is to learn as we go, replace binges with other things to help us through stressful times. Some days are harder than others & we may slip; that's OK. The Binge Monster is in the shadows waiting to pounce. Hopefully this thread provides inspiration, courage, & support to become a Binge Survivor!
You may see different folks on different "Cycles." A Cycle is a 21 day block of consecutive binge-free days. Stay with us for as many cycles as you'd like.
Everyone's definition of a BINGE is different. The Oxford Dictionary defines a binge as a spree of eating and drinking. To many of us, BINGE is defined as "eating without dignity." The dictionary defines "dignity" as a calm and serious manner or style, showing suitable formality or indicating that one deserves respect. Only you can define what a binge is for you. Going over points, as long as it was done with dignity and journaled (thereforeacknowledged and "owned") isn't binging--it is up to you to decide.
SPECIAL THANKS TO LESLIE5609 for starting this challenge on the Out of Control Board, in August '02, and thanks to all who keep it going

C118D5, 15 purple points, 1335 calories, 96 grams protein, 36 grams fiber, no exercise.
Jan - My niece visited for a few hours after she dropped her son down here for camp. She just got her wellness certification after an eight week course. Sounds like the same course you took Jan. She already has a few clients that she's been counseling at half price during the training. Did you ever started the counseling?

Last nights dessert was yummy! I put together a 2 layer parfait - 1/2 graham cracker, lt vanilla ice cream diced fresh peach w/cinnamon, repeat ...pretty and yummy!!
Nancy, wish we lived closer so we could share...Love how you got back on the beam so quickly. Did you find it easier getting back on track with the higher calorie target? hope the new aide works out well...
Jan, Thanks for mentioning peaches....it gave me the dessert idea!
Meg, what types of snacks/desserts can you have? I found by coming up with creative ways to make my meals, snacks and desserts really helped me with passing up the higher calorie options...maybe we can come up with some ideas for you..
Kathy, wish we could send our rain your way....
Have a good day everyone!

Lori - I also have a nice new treat. I take one graham square with a melted 1/4 Built bar topped with a toasted marshmallow. So it's a 3 pt s'more at 95 calories. Really good and so much less eggregious than the full s'more I used to have. Getting back on track is very easy for me whether 1200 or 1350 calories. I'm so much happier when I feel in control. I thought about that too, how nice it would be if we could share. I'd love to try the linguini but am allergic to shipping charges. Amazon has a pack of six for 31.99 but it probably makes more sense to get an assortment. Let me know how you like the mac n cheese please.

It finally happened, I got caught in a downpour on my bike yesterday. I checked the weather beforehand but a storm came out of nowhere. I hightailed it home pretty fast but by the time I got back the rain had stopped. It rained off and on all afternoon. I need to get outside and tackle flowerbeds.
Nancy, fingers crossed with your new aide. Yes, it sounds like your niece did a similar training to mine. I didn’t love doing it, and I couldn’t see how I could make a living out of wellness coaching. I was having trouble finding people to work with free of charge during my training, I didn’t think I’d have any better luck getting people to pay. The woman who encouraged me to take the training has had a tough time getting her business off the ground. I hope your niece has better luck.
Lori, I found just one container of piña colada hummus at Aldi yesterday. I had some with a peach last night. Delicious and summery.
Meg, I hope you have an easy day today.

Jan - My niece lives in one of those very religious Jewish communities (Passaic, NJ). Her clients come from that group. I'm sure they have active facebook sites and such. Her first clients during the training paid 2 for 1 so $37.50 per session. One client was about weight loss, another about marital problems and I forget the one or two others. She's a pre school teacher so this will be supplemental income but mainly something to build up for a post retirement career. She loves helping people and thinks of this as a way to do so while earning some money (sort of the way I saw the reverse mortgages). Her husband's a social worker, so their income is limited.
