I am sorry, I originally posted this in the Plans forum, when I think I should have posted it here.
I am thinking of returning to WW. Does anyone know if there are any plan changes coming in 2022? The last plan I was on was Pointsplus, which I feel was more in line with calories. When Smartpoints were introduced, I didn’t like it and quit. Thank you for any new information if you have it. I realize 2022 is several months away, but a WW friend told me she heard there will be plan changes. If true, I am very interested.
Thank you in advance for any information. This covid weight has to come off!

We had a former member who used to go online and search new patents and copyright filings to sneak a peek at new programs. Alas, Mike is no longer with us. ( ) But, that will not change the speculation and gossip here of what, if any changes, are coming in 2022. WW usually makes some changes or tweaks to their program to encourage new members after the Halloween-Thanksgiving-Christmas Eat-a-thon that finishes around January 1. Stay tuned!

Stick around these boards. Even if we can't find out about any upcoming changes, you may be interested to see that there are many of us who liked Points Plus and prior plans who didn't switch over to Smart Points. Some of us have found other plans, apps and trackers that work for us. But also, some people did switch successfully to Smart Points and have been making it work. There's lots of support here for finding what works best for each of us, and for sharing that support.

Hi Sharlene! Welcome to the boards 🤗
All bets are off as far as when new things are coming out with Mindy at the helm now. Although something someone posted the other day made me think a big change is on the way.
It used to be by the six year mark a whole new plan came out. Since SmartPoints were introduced in December 2015 the timeframe would be right.
I, for one, will not be sad to see SPs go. 👋👋
Just making sure you have heard of the app iTrackBites which lets you track the older WW programs for free. PP is called Carb Conscious.

Sharlene: Someone on the boards either listened in to a WW earnings call or read the transcript and said that Mindy said there will be changes or a new program coming this fall. Other than that we haven't picked up any gossip. They have multiple plans now and I do Green which is a tweaked Smart Points. I'm doing okay with it even though I strongly didn't like SP when it came out. Now that I'm settled into a plan after counting calories for awhile because I couldn't handle Free Style I'm nervous about the changes. After Points Plus what WW thought was a good plan and what I thought was a good plan differed greatly. I'm older (74) and I feel they have left the older members behind.

Someone may chime in who knows the answer to this --
There were two vloggers on YouTube who disclosed the whole Blue / Green / Purple plan in advance. WW employees evidently leaked it to them. Sorry, can't remember their names, but it might be worth finding their channels. I bet they made in a ton of money off advertisements during the "new plan fever." One of them was a nurse, as I recall.
FWIW I "yelled" at both of them in the comments section and stopped following them because they both vlog while driving and it pissed me off to no end. You would think a nurse would have more sense, no?

ETA: Found one of them - Barrett Pastor I can't find the nurse. I also followed Jenn's WW Journey. She didn't have much inside scoop but I found her to be motivating and she vlogged about all the new changes as they were happening. Maybe I'll subscribe again.

NatureLover N is for Nurse was the other one. *I don't think she is currently doing WW.

Yes, we all miss Mike. I watched "N is for Nancy" on you tube. She presently is following the low carb diet and is having some success losing weight. She mentioned Dr. Eric Westman.

WW needs something to get members back in the door now that meetings (I refuse to call them studios) are re-opening. I wouldn't be surprised if there's a major change coming.

I read an article to the effect that people who are emerging from the COVID fog are realizing they gained a lot of weight and are flocking to fitness centers and weight loss programs. WW memberships are up something like 17% because of COVID pounds.
A man interviewed for the article talked about how he tried to squeeze into a pre-lockdown shirt and got stuck in it. His son couldn't help him out of it so they cut it off. I thought I did bad!
