I’m curious about WW approach to pre-diabetes, type 2 diabetes. I would think that there will some type of breakdown of carbs, sugars, etc. to help guide members with their daily menu planning. I’ve been tracking on WW for a long time, tried other free apps and the ones I liked are no longer available. I double tracked for a while but found that I thought about food way too much. Fingers crossed that changes to WW are helpful to all.

For months now my app is set to include all the macros when calculating a food. Added sugar, carbs, sodium, fiber, all of it. It's a real PITA!
I just don't see how leaders and receptionists are going to be made qualified to discuss regulation of diabetes. Through my 15 year career with WW, anything medically related was a huge HANDS OFF. I'm sure it's going to be couched in some way, but my thinking now is that it's an awful burden to put on the staff's shoulders.
I guess we'll find out! Thanks for the link.

Thursday night my leader did say there were some exciting changes coming in November. But she offered nothing more.

Laura M, November 11th, we'll know the changes. I do miss having leaks about it.

I'm wondering if it's a weight loss program WW will offer thru hospital diabetes programs. A person really needs to be certified as a diabetes educator in order to assist a diabetic. It's a balancing act between food, exercise, and medication.

And I agree with those of you who think having to plug all that info into an equation is a gigantic PITA.

Laura M , November 11th, we'll know the changes. I do miss having leaks about it. Me too! The leaks were so much fun! It was especially fun getting all the leaks from the UK, where they used to release it first. I think they’re all released at the same time now in different countries.

It looks like you’ll be able to personalize the plan with your own 0 point foods and your point budget will adjust for that. It also looks like fiber will lower the point value again, a little like PointsPlus, but added sugar will increase it like SmartPoints. Protein decrease it, etc. http://instagram.com/p/CUBrvIRsigr

If we can personalize what's 0 points, it sounds like that's the end of paper tracking, as the only way to do that would thru a digital platform.

An older, quiet woman who always sits in the back at my meeting knitting was LIVID this weekend! She approached our leader after the meeting, and the gist of what I overheard is they are doing away with pay as you go and you must buy the pass. Our leader kept apologizing but she wasn't hearing it. Hoo-wee she was angry.
It's too bad they're going to rub out the holdouts who want to pay week by week. When I was still working there I weighed members who feared any type of online activity at all - paid mortgage at the bank, used paper checkbook for everything, etc. To them the Monthly Pass was a demon tool to hack their personal information and have WW spy on them. I think that option should remain available, come on WW, money is money.

I think that option should remain available, come on WW, money is money. There are also the people who live paycheck to paycheck and just can't come up with a lump sum of money at one time, but can budget for a weekly fee.
