November 11 has been tossed around as the start date, but it doesn't make sense. It's a Thursday and a US holiday. The WW week begins on Sunday, which makes Nov. 7 a more logical choice. For staff it throws things off if half your mtgs. have new material and the other half don't. I could be wrong but I'm basing this on previous rollouts.

I can kind of see the logic: people wanting to get on track after Thanksgiving have a few days to acclimate themselves to the changes and maybe do their meal plans? Thanksgiving is Nov 25th, so that gives 2 weeks, roughly? To plan their after T-giving stuff.

squid 100% agree, most likely they are trying to avoid standing room only on the 7th in meeting rooms across the country π (but you didn't hear there here folks) π€£π

Mr. Smiley Pants makes this statement on his website - "Weight Watchers has always been against fats⦠even healthy ones!" That's just not true. "Holy oils" as Louis is fond of calling them, were part of the program for a number of years. I'm still amazed WW eliminated mention of them in recent program renditions because every major American health organization recommends them for heart health, and they are a key component of the Mediterranean way of eating.
But what do I know? π€£π€£π€£

As far as the link that was posted, it actually had no current information that can't be found here already.
I will say it again, the patents, the earnings report, the trademarks. THAT is the most current information, everyone else is just piecing stuff together (sometimes incorrect information) to get hits.

I mentioned that there are upcoming changes to the program to some of my fellow WWs at a meeting a few weeks ago, thinking that they would be like me and want to know. But I would say out of the 6 people I told, two of them are nervous about the changes. I told one today, I did not get to talk to the other one after the meeting, that it will be okay. We have gone through changes before. So maybe I should have not said anything. Perhaps WW is smart to not promote the changes. I like to know and always enjoy our annual discussions about changes, but not everyone enjoys the speculation and get apprehensive about changes. I think it makes life more interesting.

limefan, Changes didn't bother me until Smartpoints, up until then all the programs worked great for me. Freestyle really soured me on their program changes, coming up with Green redeemed them a little but now I'm nervous about this change and all this talk about zero-point foods.

squid, Everything I wanted to reply to since I last posted were your comments (guess we think about the same things). Connect - I agree they designed it to be mobile only. After feedback they gave limited access on computer. But -- to me -- the thing is that they didn't have to design it as mobile only. Connect is a sort of hybrid Twitter/Facebook type thing. Both of those are easily accessed on computer as well as mobile. November 11 - I agree that date never made sense to me. I have seen some suggest 11/8. That date also doesn't make sense since it is not a Sunday. I just can't see them splitting a week like that. I am betting on 11/7 also. Fats - I have mixed feelings about WW and fats. WW was not extreme in the sense of saying all fats and oils are bad which is why they did have that GHG about the 2 teaspoons a day. On the other hand, I always sort of felt that the reason they had to have the explicit GHG was that otherwise they seemed so anti-fat that members might take it too far and think it was good to aim for no fat at all. Of course, at that time, lots of "official" type guidance was anti-fat. So I can't really say WW was any worse than them. The GHG was meant to bring some sanity into it. However, I sort of feel like WW never really got that much beyond the GHG level. The idea that fats really aren't "bad" didn't really get filtered communicated that well. SmartPoints sort of implies that by targeting only saturated fat (which I felt was correct). But, back when I was doing meeting (2018 was last actual physical meeting) many members still seemed to mostly lump all facts together and there wasn't much pushback from the leaders. I do hope they will do better with the new program.

As you know I worry about the new program. I was thinking this morning how glad I was to have this group to help me through getting use to the new program. Then I wondered how many of you are actually doing the WW program now and will getting on the new program?

bbbearsmom and everyone else who may be worrying about the upcoming change. Here's the good news. There are always ways to do whatever program you are most comfortable with, but I want to encourage everyone who is doing MyWW+ to give the new program a try. My feeling is after SP things can only get better. I am really excited after reading the information about it. I want to stress once again, if you are happy with the current program, get in to a meeting and get a hard copy of it, buy a points calculator and you will be able to continue doing the program you love. There is no reason to stress about the upcoming change. The support here isn't going anywhere. We have never cared what program anyone was (or wasn't) doing because the support doesn't change based on what plan you are on. We are here for you guys and will be here to answer any questions you have. π€

bbbearsmom, when I'm doing WW I'm following Points Plus using my old materials, points calculator, and various online resources. I've tried every iteration of the WW program that's come out and will will try Personal Points in November. I'm guardedly optimistic.

I'm not currently doing a WW program on WW - I'm doing an old WW program - PointsPlus - on ITB. But I'm definitely up for trying the new program and I look forward to sharing that with whoever else here will be doing it too. I have tried almost every program WW has had since 1971. I've made all of them work - except for the ones since 2016 when the calculations changed to smartpoints. But I gave those a very good try too - a couple of months' worth for each - before abandoning them. My feeling is after SP things can only get better. My feeling too!

I hated SP but lost the most weight the quickest with it so far. I can't wait for the new changes. hopefully it's wonderful!
