WELCOME TO REGULAR & NEW POSTERS! This thread is full of encouragement & suggestions. New people, welcome! We encourage you to jump in. One day, one hour, one minute at a time is easier to handle than a week, etc. Lurkers, join in
Our goal is 21 days Binge Free (studies show 21 days to break old habits & start new ones!). Whether we make 21 or one, the point is to learn as we go, replace binges with other things to help us through stressful times. Some days are harder than others & we may slip; that's OK. The Binge Monster is in the shadows waiting to pounce. Hopefully this thread provides inspiration, courage, & support to become a Binge Survivor!
You may see different folks on different "Cycles." A Cycle is a 21 day block of consecutive binge-free days. Stay with us for as many cycles as you'd like.
Everyone's definition of a BINGE is different. The Oxford Dictionary defines a binge as a spree of eating and drinking. To many of us, BINGE is defined as "eating without dignity." The dictionary defines "dignity" as a calm and serious manner or style, showing suitable formality or indicating that one deserves respect. Only you can define what a binge is for you. Going over points, as long as it was done with dignity and journaled (thereforeacknowledged and "owned") isn't binging--it is up to you to decide.
SPECIAL THANKS TO LESLIE5609 for starting this challenge on the Out of Control Board, in August '02, and thanks to all who keep it going

I had my biggest class since we closed for Covid, 33 in the room and 1 online. There are still a few missing, but much of my 9:15 people are back. My seniors later in the morning have been hit and miss and many still haven’t come back. Many are finally traveling and seeing family; I know one woman whose whole family is in town and they’re celebrating Christmas in July, tree and all.
Nancy, I hope your niece does well with her business.

Early check in....
Nancy, I made the Mac n cheese last night. I’m very pleased. It’s a nice size portion for 150 cal. Reminded me of the Kraft blue box Mac n cheese. It was a little dry but it could since it called for 1% milk and I use ff milk. It made 3 servings. The next serving I have, I might add a little of the cheese sauce I have to it. I’m excited to be able to add pasta back into my meals, pasta salads, soups...etc If you miss having pasta, I think it’s worth the shipping charge.
Jan, never heard of pina colada hummus. It must be wonderful with pineapple...I’ll have to look out for it. Wonderful to hear your classes are full again, Love the idea of Christmas in July....
Going for an early walk with DH and Kasey.....

Hey guys. Day 149 and I'm running behind on LIFE! We went kayaking with DD and DSIL on the lake this morning, right downtown. It was so beautiful - love that Chicago skyline. Then we had a picnic and hit a famous donut shop. I didn't even think about eating healthy. But there was the kayaking and walking that probably burned off a bite or two!
DH and I are driving to Indianapolis Saturday - back on Sunday. I have two Burmese friends whom I tutored in English, and they both moved there a while back. Looking forward to seeing them and their families. We'll call this our summer getaway before DH has a hip replaced on Aug. 3.
Will try to read posts and contribute more after the craziness dies down. Peace to all.
