WELCOME TO REGULAR & NEW POSTERS! This thread is full of encouragement & suggestions. New people, welcome! We encourage you to jump in. One day, one hour, one minute at a time is easier to handle than a week, etc. Lurkers, join in
Our goal is 21 days Binge Free (studies show 21 days to break old habits & start new ones!). Whether we make 21 or one, the point is to learn as we go, replace binges with other things to help us through stressful times. Some days are harder than others & we may slip; that's OK. The Binge Monster is in the shadows waiting to pounce. Hopefully this thread provides inspiration, courage, & support to become a Binge Survivor!
You may see different folks on different "Cycles." A Cycle is a 21 day block of consecutive binge-free days. Stay with us for as many cycles as you'd like.
Everyone's definition of a BINGE is different. The Oxford Dictionary defines a binge as a spree of eating and drinking. To many of us, BINGE is defined as "eating without dignity." The dictionary defines "dignity" as a calm and serious manner or style, showing suitable formality or indicating that one deserves respect. Only you can define what a binge is for you. Going over points, as long as it was done with dignity and journaled (thereforeacknowledged and "owned") isn't binging--it is up to you to decide.
SPECIAL THANKS TO LESLIE5609 for starting this challenge on the Out of Control Board, in August '02, and thanks to all who keep it going

Happy Friday!! Looking forward to the weekend. Family visit on a Saturday and a carefree Sunday!
Enjoyed a second serving of Mac n cheese last night. I didn’t realize how much I missed actual pasta. Loving I can fit it in my meal plan.
Heading to the office, BBL

Day 150. Will try to make a reasonable plan for eating while we're away this weekend. It doesn't need to be a free-for-all, right?
Peace.

Meg, enjoy your weekend....maybe your goal could be enjoy what you want in moderation...keeping things in control. If you find yourself fighting urges, go for some protein, helps quiet those annoying urges. Have a great time!

C118D7, 14 purple points, 1329 calories, 98 grams protein, 44 grams fiber, I think one short walk after dinner. I really like the new aide, DH not quite so enthusiastic but it was only day one. Fingers crossed.
Lori - Believe it or not I found a local place that handles the Fiber Gourmet. It's a religious Jewish restaurant/store (I think) in Lakewood. The website only shows a few items but it would give me the opportunity to try it. They seem to have only lite penne, lite elbows, lite spaghetti and lite rotini. I was actually more interested in the linguini and mac n cheese. Anyway they're open on Sundays so I'll check it out. I was thinking it would serve as a nice side instead of the brown rice every now and then. I'm excited to try it. It's the same 3.99 but I'd be saving the shipping charge.
Meg - Exactly. Whatever you can do to avoid the free for all would be an NSV. Small portions of the most tempting choices should be a good way to go.
