Good morning friends. Slept well and grateful. Today shall be a DOR. Last night it poured heavily up until the wee hours of the morning. Right now it's grey dry and humid. Walking shall be planned accordingly.
We will still enjoy our pasta fest today. Keeping in touch with my roots puts a smile on my face LOL. Tomorrow will be here soon enough to hit that reset button once again. Have yet to step on the scale so not sure what yesterday did.
Waving and shall CBL

Good Morning, WW Friends ~
Happy Sunday!! We also slept very well last night. Our weather has been beautiful! The Grad Party we went to was great fun! I saw some co-workers, then when DH and I wandered down to the side yard where there was a clearing with two swings and a fire pit and small pond with waterfall, we found a 4 year old sitting alone who happily joined us and climbed up on the swing with me and played with my bracelets. One is magnetic and she was fascinated with it. Pretty soon her 6 year old cousin showed up and wanted to share the fun. That provided additional entertainment for us. Otherwise DH got to meet people he has only heard me talk about, and put faces with names. Since he isn't on FB he doesn't see them, whereas most of them see him on my FB. We both concluded we had a fabulous time!!
Ann ~ Sounds like your evening was also a huge success! Shame on your neighbor with the barking dog! By all means you should enjoy your pasta night - after all it IS Sunday!! <LOL>
Judy ~ Wishing you all the very best this weekend with the showings. I wouldn't be at all surprised if you have great news by the end of the weekend.
Pam ~ Hope you're getting to enjoy your DD visit.
I have had a Premier Protein drink blended with a banana and ice cubes for breakfast. That held me all day yesterday until we ate (sparingly) at the party. Then we didn't eat another meal, but had a LF NSA fudge bar for a snack before bedtime. I am thinking along those same lines today.
Time to go for a walk. My back is slowly getting better, helped along by really good massages from DH. My walk yesterday did a world of good also. As I walked, I could feel it relaxing. Now the pain is no longer in my left hip - but evenly across my lower back. That is encouraging news for me.
BBL. Make a great day!!

Hi Sue...happy to hear that you back is getting better. Praying that it continues to improve. Enjoy your walk. Sometimes walking helps out with back issues depending on where the pain is located. Sounds like both you and DH enjoyed the Grad party. Love it when children are added to the mix and put a smile on your face. We did go for a short hood walk. It's grey and drizzling out at times and VERY humid! My walking will most definitely be in short spurts today. This is the last day for the Hannaford brand double points earned. I am going to take a quick inventory to see if there is anything that I need. If I find that I need something that I 'can't live without' I'll go LOL. It's just down the road from us so not a big deal. LOL Sue that's my weekly treat...pasta on a Sunday. It keeps me goin' Waving and will CBL

Happy Sunday my friends!
Well, I survived the yard cleanup day, but BOY! was I tired!!! DD1, Jude, Anna, Abby and DD2 spent most of the day here. We got a big pile of brush moved, that was in the way where the privacy fence will be and marked the boundaries for the fence guys, two jobs that DH has been worrying about. Then they trimmed bamboo and tree branches and we now have a huge pile at the street that the town guys will (should) pick up tomorrow morning. We also had 5 yard bags of leaves and bits and pieces that I am not sure if they will pick up, or we will have to put in the garbage can a couple at a time. I also got a good bit of weeds hoed in the garden and sprayed a bunch with weed killer. We are making lists of things that need to be done in the future and will chip away at it, especially when DD3 and DSIL are here the first week of August. Our lot is just under an acre, with lots of trees and bushes that have been neglected the past year or so. DH and I are making some decisions on how to simplify yard and patio upkeep for the future.
While we were out working, Abby kept Pop company, which she said was her assigned job. She took it very seriously. They cooked a big pot of spaghetti sauce which we had for a late lunch, once we knocked off work due to the heat of the day. Then, board games and laughter started while Jude and Pop napped. I think the only people who sleep more than old men are teenage boys, lol. After they all left in late afternoon, DH watched a movie and I vegged out in my chair. For supper, I had eggs, toast & grits and DH scrounged leftovers from the fridge. I lasted until 9:45 pm and then hit the bed. I feel rested this morning, but will take things easier today. Dinner tonight will be a crock pot pork roast, rice, gravy and vegetables--probably smothered okra and tomatoes and one other.
Judy - I hope things are going well at the Cape and you have a nice day out. Like Ann, I'm pretty sure you'll finish out the showings with and offer or two.
Sue - Your grad party sounded very nice. Looking through the eyes of children is always fun. They have such a unique outlook on life.
Ann - I have been seeing all the wet weather in the NE on the news. We have been getting daily afternoon thunderstorms, but thankfully, not too much rain and they pass quickly. Mornings and late evenings are usually sunny.
Have a restful Sunday!

Pam you and family really DID accomplish a lot of yard work. Now I bet DH is feeling better about it and not tempted to get on his feet to do it himself. I hope the trash people come and clear it all away. Happy that Abby stayed with DH to 'keep him company' and keep a watchful eye on him. Too cute Yes we have had more than our fair share of rain. It was incredible last night with the pouring rain thunder and lightening. Luckily it wasn't windy and we were able to have our glass of Chianti in the screen room. We did end up going to Hannaford's after all as the list seemed to grow. It wasn't crowded and we were happy to score their chicken tenders and fully cooked chicken patties that they have been out of for the past few months....so a good trip We put it all away and walked Benjamin. Now it's time for a relaxing cup of coffee. If I don't make it back will catch up with y'all tomorrow.

We are back home and well fed. I enjoyed the party, and chatting with the graduate who is the son of a good friend who is one of my Head Start teachers. We have beautiful weather today but it was an indoor party, so we were all glad it wasn't unbearably HOT! We sat with some of my co-workers and had a good time. As soon as the first couple left (who had been there ahead of us) another came to take their place.
This party was on an earlier time schedule than yesterday, plus we didn't stay as long, so we are home with time to spare. DH is napping in his chair, then plans to make his Kroger trip and get us back on our usual schedule. Ever since the first Sunday party a few weeks ago, we have been off schedule.
The rest of this day will be devoted to reading, resting and napping. Great day for it!!

Meanwhile, I was thinking ..... I owe my DH a huge "Thank You" for giving up his entire weekend to attend Grad Parties of kids of friends of mine from work. Those kind of things are not at the top of his list, but he explained to me that he knew it was important to me and that made it something he was wiling to do. Bless his heart, he dressed up, showed up, visited with people and made me feel like a Queen.

Ann - Glad you were able to pick up the groceries you wanted. It's so much easier to plan meals when the freezer is well-stocked.
Ann - Your DH is a gem. I think he may be like my DH--not a social butterfly, but seems to enjoy chatting with others at social events, though he'd also be content to stay at home.
I got ambitious this afternoon after putting the pork roast to simmer in the crockpot. I made a batch of DH's favorite pancakes (pecan) and got them in the freezer. Then I mixed a batch of cherry/almond overnight oats and a batch of muesli. I also got the rice ready to cook, as well as corn and smothered okra and tomatoes. Now I have my foot up and am sipping a glass of my current favorite red wine.
DD3 is making a long list of things for her and DSIL to do while they are here. I reminded her there is a limit to what they can accomplish in a week. She says that's why they are planning and prioritizing. She is her father's daughter--a planner and list maker, lol. She and Madison called to chat this afternoon, but had to cut it short. Leah had a fall from her bicycle and had a skinned knee, skinned elbow and cut finger that needed Mama's attention. Poor kid!
I may throw a load of laundry in tonight, just to get a head start, since I will be gone most of the day tomorrow, my normal laundry day. I have my appointment with the ortho doc in BTR to look at my foot. Then a trip to the nearby mall to pick up a birthday gift for Anna, who will be 14 on Tuesday, a stop at Sam's and finally Hibbett Sports in town for another gift for Anna. At 4:00 PM my Alzheimer's Caregiver Support group meets. DH and I have already planned a breakfast for supper tomorrow, which will be quick and easy.
Is it just a southern thing to call a big meal at night "dinner" and a light meal at night "supper"? We always had Sunday dinner midday at my parents' home and then supper at night, so dinner has always denoted a big meal to me. When my mom was growing up, the midday meal was a big dinner on the farm to fuel the working men. Supper was leftovers or something light to tide one over until breakfast, which was also big. Growing up, our big meal was at night, because my dad carried a lunch box with as sandwich and fruit to work and was hungry when he got home. DH and I pretty much did the same. Things to ponder, lol.
