Good morning !
CJ- thanks for posting the mocca frappe recipe. Sure sounds easy enough! I will have to give it a try. What a nice treat.
Ruth, I am no ball of energy for sure. I did. Not get all those walls painted in one day, been working on that room for a week, but was able to finish the 2nd and 3rd walls yesterday (both were partially painted, I had to move furniture to finish them.)
Think I will order batting today for the kittens quilt as long as I can get fast delivery. If not it looks like Joanns has it on sale this week.

Seeing what my week is going to be like- I ordered the batting from Walmart (they had a great price and I got free shipping!) and it will be here Wednesday. It sure saves me some running around in case I do not feel like going to the store.

Ginny, I'm glad to hear that you were able to get the batting from Walmart and at a great price with free shipping. CJ, thanks from me too. that mocha frappe sounds delicious.Maybe adding ice cubes while blending it would make it thicker. Got just a couple things done so far today. It's a hot one so probably won't do much except for crocheting. I love this current tote bag I'm making. It's so pretty.People are posting their pictures ( I don't do that) and some have used yarn that keeps you from seeing the beautiful stitches. She suggest REd Heart ombre which I'm using. It seems like, even thought it's acrylic yarn, that it will be sturdy enough for a bag.I have a few other colors of that yarn so might make several. Here's the link but it looks much prettier in person. greenfoxfarmsdesigns.com/sweet-stripes-market-tote-bag-free-crochet-pattern?fbclid=IwAR2LsPMIOtDK6BLjjWzgE3ubfozmsF2gICQRRGBbHK0j87Fb9nFzvOLWbJoI hope everyone will have a great week. Wonder how Sue's new caregiver is working out Phyl, when is your sono? I'll be praying for good results

HI, I would say today was the worse day of all with this medical problem, almost had Don take me to the ER this am. I have added DIVERTICULITIS to the list of
possibles.
I had hopes of wanting to do some shelf straightening our, like get jeans in order by their sizes, instead sat around and read for while.
what I don't understand is why do I get a sour taste in my mouth At times.
Ruth tomorrow is the big day for the sono. he has to wait till the radiologist reads the results. then he will probably call me.
hope fully Tuesday and Wednesday we can get the upstairs back in order, Friday is the si injection,so probably not doing to much over the weekend depending on how I FEEL.
then maybe I can get the downstairs back in order and start sewing.sure hope
so. talked to JOYCE she has finally realize she will have to give up quilting.she has mackalin dengeration,is 91 or 92 years old.
think she is a little dissapointed, wanted to make a baby quilt for the next great grandchild.
she has a CHRISTMAS throw she wanted to get quilted. I have some ideas, I am not good at quilting like that. PHYL

Hello Everyone Ginny - I'm glad you could order some batting from Walmart. Ruth - That market tote bag is so pretty and has a wonderful design that I'm sure looks great with the right yarn. Phyl - I'm sorry to hear you aren't doing well today. I hope things go alright at your appointment tomorrow and the doctor will let you know the results soon. It was a bit warmer here today, but still not bad. I started working on another one of those single Irish Chain quilts, like my Fireworks quilt. I have all the blocks done (20 blocks) and the rows sewn together (5 rows), so I just need to join the rows together and I'm going to add an inner and outer border. It's really been a pleasure to use some of these fabrics I've had for so many years. I may make a few more of these. I also pressed several tops and some backing for the 4 quilts I've pulled to machine quilt next. I still need to cut batting and backing for 2 of them, but hopefully I can get them machine quilted by the end of the month. Then I get to do the binding - which I'm more excited about I received an order from Connecting Threads today. They had 108 inch wide fabric on sale on July 12th and I ordered some then and received it today. I was really impressed with such a quick delivery. Several other companies take a lot longer to deliver. Take care everyone!

Good mornng all!
CJ- that is sure quick delivery form Connecting threads, especially because fabric needs to be cut and very manually processed. (Will have to check them out- never been on that web site before). Glad you got so much quilting done yesterday, getting ready to assemble and quilt 4 quilts and the beginning of another Irish Chain (such a fun pattern!). For me, other than today, this weeks weather is supposed to be more civilized, and I hope that holds true for you also.
Phyl- let us know what your test results are, and I hope and pray that all goes well. I am praying for something readily treatable and that you can be feeling well again soon. That is very sad about Joyce….I wonder if the two of you can quilt together where she helps out as she can and you fill in when she cannot. That might be a way she can make a quilt for her great grandchild. Praying that by the end of the week you are feeling better and can get downstairs for some quilting time,
Ruth, gee that crocheted bag pattern is SO pretty! Its tempting- I would love to make one too, but am best of not getting started on another project that I do not complete. But such a pretty pattern- how large a bag does it make? Hope you are able to stay cool today.
Heading out shortly to get my car serviced and then will work with a new trainee for a short while. Its supposed to be a warm day here - the warmest of the week….think this afternoon I will get back to work on the quilt top, in anticipation of getting the batting tomorrow. I am a little tentative with these directions, hoping that they work and that I can make sense of them. So far, so good. Ginny

HI GIRLS, ultra sound results are in. please if you know anything about this condition do not tell me.
IT IS CALLED HEPATIC STEATOSIS, I KNOW THIS HAS SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE LIVER.,THIS IS WHERE I HAVE TO TRUST MY DOCTOR AND MEDICAL TEAMS,THAT IS WHY I ASK NO COMMENTS.I RATHER HEAR IT FROM THEM.
A CAT SCAN HAS BEEN SUGGESTED.
I am hoping to get some thing done today ,just have not decided if upstairs or
downstairs. have a good day.PHYL

Ok only a small comment Phyl and that is that your condition is treated by losing weight, exercise, eating a healthy diet with lower fat (beware fast food places) and no alcohol. There are certain supplements you can take but you'll need to talk to your doctor about that especially since you have other medical conditions that you're taking meds for(and they're mostly just ineffective anyway). It's suggested that you lose 5-10% of your body weight. And don't starve yourself trying to lose. Just eat healthy.Keep your blood sugar in a normal range.if you have elevated cholestrol and triglycerides work to get those lower.
You know I can't help but comment

Hello Everyone Ginny - I hope your car servicing and training went well. I think tomorrow is supposed to be our hottest day of the week. I hope you get your batting soon. I was impressed with Connecting Threads, my order came via UPS, instead of the post offic. I think you are making another 3 yard quilt for the kitty, right? I found their patterns a bit confusing too. There is just too much Fabric 1, Fabric2, Fabric 3 and cutting instructions all over the place. I found that I had to write on my pattern what my fabric color/design was for each yard, and then to break it down into parts. I know you'll figure it out Phyl - I'm glad they were able to quickly give you information on your condition. I hope the cat scan goes well, if you get it. Hopefully you feel better soon. Ruth - Hope you are getting some crocheting done. Sue - I hope you are well and will check in. I finished piecing the Lilac Irish Chain quilt this morning. I really like this quick pattern (my own design) and would have made this one larger but I didn't have as much fabric as I did for the Firework quilt. I don't think this one looks as good as the Firework one, I guess it's all in the fabric. I'm happy to have made it though, because I doubt I would ever have used the darker lilac fabric for anything. The lighter fabric is actually a very soft green background with lilacs on it. Pat Sloan's next block for the Summer Soiree comes out tomorrow so I'll be working on that and also I still need to cut the backing and batting for 2 quilt tops. I really would like to do another set of blocks for the Summer Soiree in Fall/Autumn fabrics, but I'm trying to resist Take care everyone!

THANK YOU RUTH, for encouraging and not commenting to much on the medical side. think I have lost 3-5 pounds with out trying.also get the si injection on FRIDAY,
hoping that will free me from some of the pain and be able to do more exercising.NEED TO GET BACK TO THE Y.
still like to know where this burping is coming from.
CJ love the Irish Chain quilt. I have Christmas fabric for years for the I.C quilt.do you think I can find the darn book? it is one of those small types with just the pattern in it.I have gone through all my books and totes, drawers and cannot find it. do not remember giving it away or getting rid of it. SIGH,SIGH,SIGH.
Ginny I have thought of a couple of ways to help JOYCE.SHE just got back from son's in Texas. she refuses to get the vaccine.in the beginning she was for it,then some lady from her church called her and told her about a video she watch and it was all lies.think MARY JO watched the same one. suppose to be from a good source.
with this new condition I am not about to go over there. I have not seen her new apartment yet,and she moved in March. she came to guild one night and I forgot my rule and sat with her.few weeks later I told her how UNCOMFORTABLE I felt and she has not been back since. another lady in the same building was giving her a ride. now Joyce knows the friend's dh has serious heart health problems. I WOULD NOT DO THAT.
HER dd is a nurse in the cardio department and JOYCE was so mad at her the way she was protecting herself. I tried to tell JOYCE, BARB has to protect herself she is a nurse. .
JOYCE is very religious,I am not against that, but think sometimes what another person tells them can be carried to far. JOYCE will say "you have your convictions and I have mine." how I have come to not like that word.
SORRY I did not mean to get carried away, love ya gals phyl

Phyl, I do hope the si joint injections help so that you can exercise as you like but you might want to consider that every little thing you do helps. So if you just walked to the corner or your street or around the perimeter of your yard a couple times a day that would be great exercise to begin with. Still, before the injections, even walking may be painful to those si joints. Some concerns about the vaccine are legitimate ones but for the most part they are very safe. All we hear about is the rare case of someone who has had a bad reaction. For every oe e that has a reaction there are millions that don't have any. There are people, even religious leaders who are unrealistically against any vaccine. Some are against any medication. There is one that preaches all the time that people with anxiety and depression should not take meds and just turn it over to the Lord. I disagree. Anxiety and depression are legitimate medical conditions that usually require medication. They wouldn't tell people with diabetes not to take their insulin so shouldn't be telling people with these two conditions not to take meds. Same with vaccines. The Lord gave us a brain and expects us to use it.
CJ, I love the quilt. Too bad you didn't have more of the fabric. It would have been great as a full size quilt.
Oh, and I almost forgot, Phyl, hepatic steatosis (aka fatty liver) can definitely cause excess gas and burping

RUTH,. I stay off the grass and yard. both knees have been replaced and low back problems do not like walking on lumpy ground. also walking walking on blacktop or cement is hard, on the body.
need to get back to the y and tread mill or walking track.have a exercise bike down stairs need to get on that. I do have a bike in the garage, but sine knee surgeries not to comfortable on it.should get rid of it.needs a new seat first,DON
took that one off and put it on the exercise bike.think his butt was getting sore on the old seat.
I did not get done ,what I had in mine to do today.
think my project for at night, watching tv will be getting my jewelry untangled.

PHyl, yes I forgot about your knees being replaced. As you said, lumpy ground is not a good thing to walk on. It makes knees painful as you also said and is a risk for falling which could not only damage the knees but cause you other serious injuries. A treadmill or indoor track might be boring but at least they're safer.

And Phyl- we love you too!!! I did a little quick reading about what you have been diagnosed with, and it pretty much agrees with what Ruth says. You have had excellent medical care for other conditions you have, and will continue to get great medical care through this. Do what ever you have to do to take good care of yourself. It sounds like this condition is very controllable/reversible with good care. It might be helpful for you to write down any questions you have for your doctor/health care provider. Lots of folks (myself included!) forget all that stuff we wanted to ask the doctor when we get in for our appointment. You have a dear and caring heart…..and it is so nice of you to be concerned for Joyce. I am so sorry that you got into situation where you and Joyce have a difference of opinion. By the way, at Joyces age, unless she has a truly legitimate medical issue (as she is allergic to a vaccine component) she is foolish not to be vaccinated. Being over the age of 90 is the quintessential “co morbidity”. Anyway, I am sorry about her “convictions” and that that has become a wedge. Sometimes when a person has a very strong faith system, they lose respect for other views (its something that I work hard to avoid). Just be her friend and agree to disagree and talk about quilting or something neutral. You will not change her- and you did the right thing and got vaccinated- the right decision for you.
CJ- the irish chain in lilac fabric is magnificent! Gosh you can almost imagine smelling lilacs…..its a very pretty quilt. I really liked the fireworks quilt, but might actually prefer this one. And its a shame that you did not have more fabric, but the quilt turned out well. Will you quilt this one and put on a binding? Now I would have a challenging time resisting making summer soiree in fall fabrics, cause fall colors are so pretty! Sorry, I guess I am not helping you resist the urge. Jane might need some backing fabric for her next project and I will suggest connecting threads to her. I loved the way their web site was organized and glad you got such great service from them. Cannot wait to see what you work on next….and I hope that you have gotten a reprieve from really hot weather.
Ruth, our resident medical expert….were you able to finish that beautiful tote today? And your weather was hot for a few days, has it cooled down?
So lets see- I did work this am, after I dropped the car off for an oil change and tire rotation. I had a pleasant surprise when I got home and Ds was in the middle of cleaning the shed. It was on my list of things to do this summer, and I just wanted it so we could actually find stuff. Its not really been organized in 2 years and looks SO much better! It inspired me to remove some items that I want to put our for junk week, which is in early September. And I took out a few things to donate (got a charity coming soon for a pickup). I did make some sense out of the “next step” for the kittens quilt, and will get to putting that together tomorrow. Honestly, she took a whole lot of words to instruct the quilter to join two strips! Ha ha ha. yes I can see how the directions are good but a bit awkward in how they are written> I wonder if I make another quilt from this pattern book if I will get the hang of her instructions.
Sue, we miss you and hope you are well.
I was a bit strong worded above with my opinions….and it absolutely was NOT my intent to offend anyone.
Have a great night all Ginny
