Itās supposed to be dry today and 86Ā°, 88% humidity, so normal for mid July. I find myself getting a little down with this resurgence. I am forcing myself to take a shower and get out of the house. I need to pick up my eye drops and Iggy and I are going to an orchard in YS. We have to go so early to the farmerās market in YS we havenāt gone to the orchard because it opens up at 10 am. It takes 30 minutes one way to YS so we wonāt do two trips in one day.
Linda, the stats on the vaccine are frightening for people with underlying conditions. I worry more about Iggy than he does. He is more willing to mingle with the masses than I am. It is āFreedom Dayā in the UK. All the mandates are gone, you should see the videos with all the nightclubs. People there are going crazy just like we have here. Some people there are calling it āFreedumb Day.ā Nice to know we arenāt the only stupid nation.
I hope Dale has a good run, Karen, and the MG meetings go well.
Waving to Kathy, Becky, Liz and Denise.

Good Afternoon Chicks and thanks for the start Chele, Quick check-in here as the Joint Commission did not show up today but should be here almost guaranteed next Monday. Chele - how did you do at YS over the weekend? I'm a mess but what else is new . Thurs. evening I decided to go after a blind pimple of sorts with a comedone. Long story short, by Fri. morning I knew it was septic. I couldn't get into a dermatologist until mid August (told the scheduler my face would fall off by then)! Got very lucky that the doc at City MD up on 3rd Ave. where I ended up going was new, very good and seemed to know her stuff. Put me on antibiotics, gave me scripts for ointment and Veltrax single dose as well. Whatever is going on it's nasty; weeping and crusty and nasty. How are the allergies today? We are cloudy with a chance of showers after some big boomers Sat. night. Did not get to see Springsteen; Gary called me Fri. afternoon after being on the phone with StubHub all day. The ticket provider never got the tickets so although we got a refund what I didn't get to do was see Springsteen . Linda - sorry that Micki's numbers were not good. Zoe is back to having accidents all over the house again so it was another urine sample today and we will see if it's a continuing UTI or the Cushings that's getting out of hand. Glad you were able to get out for your late birthday dinner and feel safe in doing so. Our numbers here are creeping up but nowhere near what some of the states are going through thank heavens. Kathy - how goes the heat by you? Everyone in the family doing well? DS, DBIL and family went to Wildwood this past Sat. for a week and to celebrate DBIL's 60th birthday. By the looks of the pictures, I believe they are having a great time. Any jaunts for you this summer? We don't leave for OBX until 8/29 so it's still quite aways off. Waving to Karen, and Becky! I have to run because I almost forgot a 1:pm Zoom. Will try to get back later; ciao for now dear ladies~~

Thanks for the start, Chele. I agree on how disappointing things have become. We thought we were doing all the right things and the virus is still holding us hostage. I am just doing what I feel I have to do. Remember back in March when I said the first thing I was going to do 2 weeks after my 2nd jab was go to TJ Maxx? I still haven't been there. I get done only what I have to do and head for home. I hope your orchard in YS will be like ours here and you get lots of good stuff. I'm afraid the UK is heading for the path we are already on with increasing case numbers. I haven't heard what their vaccination rate is. Hopefully they have been doing a better job than we have. I have a mask with my agendas and stuff for the meetings this evening. I probably won't wear it when I'm leading meetings or presenting, but very well may when people are mingling between.
Becky, I saw that about the legislators testing positive. The last number I heard was 5. Have you heard if there are more? They could well have brought it with them. Interesting that even hogs won't eat cucumbers, but we love them. I wonder why that one tomato didn't ripen. I have had that happen, but it's been in October or November when the weather is starting to turn colder. That definitely isn't happening there.
I saw that Times article, Linda. I wonder if the booster will be a different formula or just one more of the same I've already gotten 2 of. If it's the same formula, are we taking shots away from people who haven't been vaccinated, assuming they would even get them? I will be first in line. Dale got the Moderna and they aren't saying anything yet about boosters. I hadn't thought about the virus in Darwinian terms but, thinking about it in the context of the Spanish flu, I wondered if it was time for another purge.
Liz, is it better or worse that Joint Commission isn't there already? Is a delay better than getting it over with? OH NO! on Springsteen. At least you got a refund, but what a disappointment! With the nasty infection, however, maybe it was a silver lining. Since you couldn't get into the dermatologist for another month, it's great that you were able to see a doc who knew what she was doing. I hope the drugs are already doing their thing and you are seeing improvement. Sorry to hear that Zoe seems to have backslid. I hate that it might be another UTI, but I guess that beats advancing Cushings.
The Atlantic basin looks good for now, Kathy. Are you getting weather from some place else or is this a dry (and hot) day for you? I saw the 2 female mallards and the Pekin after I got out of the lake this morning. I didn't get a good look, but I think one of the mallards has a young one. Anything happening on your pond? Do DS/DBIL have plans to go back to NSB for remote work? Do you think DS will get back into the worksite groove when they go back, or will it push her closer to retirement? With caseloads increasing there, do you think the return to work plans for a number of companies will be delayed? Or will your governor attempt to intervene so that won't happen?
I swam early this morning so Dale could go run. He is now on his way home with Salsarita's, but I will put mine away until tomorrow because I won't have time to eat and digest before the meetings tonight. IBS has been a problem again this week, so I'm not taking any chances. I'll just have a salad. That's usually safe. I got all the cleaning done after I got back and have done the usual Monday laundry. When Dale gets home I'll do workout clothes that I didn't do yesterday so I wouldn't have his stuff from today sitting around for 6 days. Hopefully that dryer load will be done before it's time to leave.

Chele, the resurgence is depressing and I've been wondering when/if this will all end. On top of that, it's been thundering already and a bear was spotted up the street enjoying a feast out of someone's trashcan. So, going out for a walk isn't an option today as I could get struck by lightning or attacked by a bear! Why people are still storing their trash outside is beyond me. I fear that it's going to take someone getting hurt before people get the message. The UK has been much stricter than us on lockdowns. Sure seems like strange timing to lift the restrictions. Hope you had a good trip to YS. It's good to get out of the house. I'm heading over to DM's for a bit later if the weather doesn't get too bad. Linda, yes! I turned on the local news at noon and there was DeSantis whining about the cruise ships having to follow CDC guidelines. There is a simple solution you doofus - let the cruise ships require vaccinations like they wanted to do. Sorry to hear that Micki's numbers weren't better. Liz, so sorry you didn't get to see Springsteen, but I'm glad you at least got a refund. I know that has to be a huge disappointment. That's scary on the infection and glad you were able to get in to see someone. Hope it clears up quickly with the meds. We're having pretty normal heat for the summer with highs around 90, so can't complain compared to some areas of the country. We've been getting a lot of rain which keeps it from getting hotter. Where is Wildwood? I assume they didn't come to the one in Florida! No jaunts planned so far. Even though the OBX trip is a way off, it's nice to have it to look forward to. Hope you have a good week. Becky, I saw that they're up to 6 of the TX Democrats testing positive. Probably at least some of them had it when they got on the plane, but it probably spread to others there. The commercial airlines are still requiring masks, so too bad they didn't wear them. I'm sure they thought they were safe since they were vaccinated, but I keep hearing stories of vaccinated people getting it.
Karen, they said our winds shifted so we're supposed to be getting more east coast/west coast sea breeze collisions. That's pretty much our normal summer weather pattern. It's been rumbling for an hour or so now, but no rain yet. DBIL has been encouraging DS to retire, so we'll see how long she lasts if she has to go back to the office. I don't know if her workplace is going to allow some kind of hybrid plan where you don't have to go in every day. Healthcare is one of the sticking points. She can retire now and delay taking her pension, but she would have to take the healthcare when she retires. It would be really expensive for the two of them (~1400/month) and she still has over 6 years to go before Medicare. Hope the MG meetings go well.

Thanks for the start Chele. I agree that this resurgence is frustrating. We got at least 1" of rain today and it came down hard. The county I am from had to go to stage red today they have had so many new cases.
Liz I hope you get better soon. That is scary. I am glad you got a refund but too bad you didn't get to see Springsteen. I hope you get good news about Zoe.
Karen They are saying at least 5 legislators tested positive. If they had worn masks it may not have happened. I don't know. They should have never left Texas in the first place. A few of the Democrats left but stayed in Texas and they haven't been arrested so these could have done the same thing. If they want to walk out that's fine but to board a plane with nothing but the clothes on their backs and beer to sustain them is crazy. I would feel the same way if they were Republicans. Hope your IBS gets better.
Kathy I haven't heard about a 6th person with Covid on that plane but I wouldn't be surprised.
Linda You are always busy. I hope Micki does better.
