Good morning friends. Slept very well and grateful. Today we are not supposed to get rain. It's just going to be hazy hot and very humid. Walking will be done accordingly.
So happy to hear that your doctor is taking a conservative approach to your foot. Praying that it will work and slow down the pain. At least this way, should you need surgery, it will be covered. All the hoops that have to be jumped through are so annoying.
I pray that woman seeks out an attorney to protect her $$. What a horrible thing for that man to do! Sorry they no longer carry or what you wanted at B&B.
Nightmares are the pits. I hope you slept better.

Hi Ann and friends,
The sun was peeking through a bit, but not too much today. I have some work calls shortly and a catch up with my boss soon. I haven't really thought too much about our return to work in a couple weeks. It'll be nice to see people and to have my mind occupied but still I am not really looking forward to it overall. I think as soon as this place is sold, I will seriously consider retiring. It's time.
Pam, I am so glad that you were happy with your doctor's approach to your foot and glad it is already showing signs of improvement. Conservative is best...I agree. Sorry that DH could not undergo the hyperbaric treatment due to blood sugar - I am relieved for you that you have such great DDs helping out. And, i really applaud you for continuing to help others at the Alzheimer's Support group meetings. I think it helps a lot to help those struggling when we are facing our own hurdles, too. That poor woman being bilked by a no good husband. How does that man sleep at night? Yet, sadly you hear stories like this all too often. My friend's sister was bilked by her own son who absconded with her life savings that she entrusted to him to buy a new home for both of them. He spent it all on himself and she only found out when the closing did not happen. Awful people. I hope that the daughter of this woman is able to get some help for her mom. I am sorry you had nightmares- you are under such stress. I have been having very unsettled dreams myself lately. I don't wake up refreshed though I sleep 8 hours. This, too, shall pass!
I am looking forward to seeing my monthly dinner group tomorrow night. Then, I will have lunch with my brother and SIL on Thursday and see them again on Sunday. I'm waiting to hear from the kennel on the dogs. I hope they can take them even for the day on Sunday. If not, we have to bring them with us. I guess we can leave them in the new house a few hours if we have to do so.
Oh, I remember my family saying supper when I was really little. Sunday mid day meal was always Sunday Dinner and then somehow in the 1960's, the night meal was always dinner. We had moved to Ohio and I guess that was the name of the night meal there more than supper.
I have two new books started! One is a light summer one by Elin Hillenbrand and the other is a true crime that won a lot of awards. I might opt for the Elin book to finish first. Good escape. :-)
Have a great day friends. We are going easy on meals lately with quick ones. Last night was a frozen lasagna and salad. Tonight will be a rotisserie chicken and sides. Notice the no cooking trends! We are trying to keep the kitchen cooking areas as clean as possible all the time. Plus, with going away in a few weeks, I don't want to over shop now. TTFN...

Funny you should mention dreams. Carl just told me that I was very jumpy last night while sleeping. He asked if I had a nightmare and for the life of me I don't remember. He said even Benjamin had a few soft growls. I'm happy that whatever it was I was dreaming or fighting didn't wake me up! I felt badly that it disturbed them both. You will know when it's your time to retire. Once you've had enough that will be the turning point! With me it happened soon LOL. Coming home in tears completely wore both of us out! LOL to the breakfast dinner supper lunch names. So long as we all remember to 'show up' that's all that matters I don't blame you for keeping meals simple, Judy. Under your home showing and vacationing circumstances it's a good move. I would most definitely go for the lighter read. My day is planned and tracked. Time to get a move to walk and get the mail. Good Afternoon, WW Friends ~
Happy Tuesday! I slept very well last night, but I expected I would because I didn't the previous night. I woke early because DH was already up and prepping breakfast (gotta love it!). We had coffee together then I got dressed for my fitness class while he cooked and we ate together right before I left. I am really getting a lot out of my class. I also love the friends I am making there. All in all, a win-win!! I am SO GLAD I signed up for this!
I went right from class to Kohl's and picked up my new(est) red rugs and they are the perfect color, but 100% cotton and reversible and no non-skid backing. That's probably for the best since that is what wore out on the other pair and just disintegrated into dust. I came home and cleaned the bathroom and put them down and they are definitely a keeper!! Then I went online to process the return to Amazon. I can send it back from Kohl's (they will package and label it). While I was on their website, I ordered some new purple towels (I have new(er) purple rugs and purple striped shower curtain. They had a big sale on plus I had 30% off, so the price was too good to pass up. I ordered 2 bath towels and 2 hand towels. I had also gotten a great deal on my red rugs from Kohl's thanks to the sale prices plus 30% off. Now I have to make another (third) trip to Kohl's to return the Amazon rugs. The advantage is that I save the price of shipping (which was 8.95) if I pick them up at the store.
Last night DH was very late getting home as he was tied up on a big job. I had prepped supper ahead of time and he called and told me to go ahead and eat. We had salad (mine with Bolt House dressing) and then I split our leftovers from the Italian restaurant into two pasta bowls and they were perfect!! It was ready within minutes of him getting home, and he enjoyed it very much. He was way over-tired, and then woke up early this morning, so I expect him to come dragging in this afternoon.
I had just a Premier Protein shake for lunch because I was pressed for time (voluntarily) so if I need something more, I have some Meijer LF Pretzels here I can count out when I get back home. I have chicken ready for supper (grilled for DH and IP for me) and corn-on-the-cob and broccoli salad. I thawed out some more chicken breasts and some pork chops that I will plan to grill tomorrow night.
BBL. Make a great day!!

Ann ~ I had a funny thought when you were talking about retirement. I had retired from the medical field when DH asked me to help him with his Auction Business, which turned out to be another 14 years of my life. Meanwhile, I had started subbing (as a Para) for our school district (just for something to do) and then when we closed the business, I kept on. When people ask DH when I am going to retire, he says that I already have ..... this is my retirement job! Who wouldn't like playing with 3-4 year olds?? And it's only a few hours a day and only 4 days a week. And here I am enjoying the whole Summer off .....

LOL Sue you have the perfect 'retirement job' You are right...who wouldn't enjoy being around 3-4 year olds? I bet they bring you a lot of pleasure. So happy you are enjoying the class and new friends there. Win win. Also great job on getting the rugs that you love and towels on sale. I don't blame you for bringing them back to save the shipping charge. All good things. Your meal sounded great. I hope that DH isn't too exhausted when he gets home tonight. I have been dragging today. I think it's a combination of all the dreary rain we've had the pollen count which still remains high and today's humidity. It will most definitely be an early night for me. In case I don't get back will catch up tomorrow

Judy - I love Elin Hildenbrand novels. Good character development and plot, but light, easy reading. You will know when it's time to call it quits with the job. I made my decision 6 months before I actually retired, to give me time to take off all the leave that I couldn't get paid for or convert to time worked to up my retirement pay. I worked 3-4 days per week and took off a day before and a day after holidays for most of the 6 months. I never looked back and have enjoyed my retirement very much.
Ann - Sorry you lost your pep today. Your restlessness last night probably contributed to it. Hopefully, tonight will be a restful one for you.
Sue - Glad the new bathroom rug works. I am glad you are enjoying your class. I know the camaraderie of our yoga classes is half the fun. We always try to get there a few minutes early to chat. It's good for both the mind and the body.
I was out early this morning before DH left for hyperbarics with our neighbor as his driver today. I went to hospice team meeting where we review each case and then slipped into Hibbert Sports to get a gym bag Anna wanted for her birthday. That plus some cash will have to be it, as the body spray is no longer made and Walmart didn't have the game she wanted. From there, I headed to the hairdresser for a cut and color and then to Walmart for groceries.
As I drove into our village, the sky opened up and sent down a flood. I couldn't even get the mail from the mailbox or the groceries from the car. It POURED!!! I waited in the car under the carport and when it seemed there was no end, I gathered the items that needed refrigeration and waded into the house. It was raining so hard and fast, the water couldn't drain and was higher than the soles of my shoes! Later, after it slowed to a light drizzle, I got my umbrella and retrieved the mail and the remaining groceries and got everything put away. About that time DH got home.
About 5:30 we went to DD1's for Anna's birthday celebration. She requested "Roast Beast", (DD3's recipe for crockpot roast beef au jus) on poboy bread, her dad's guacamole (absolutely delicious!) and red velvet birthday cake. We feasted! Then she opened her gifts which comprised a good bit of her birthday wish list. DSIL's mom came, too, and there was lots of talk and laughter. DD3 face-timed with Anna toward the end, so it was like all the family was there. Today was also my elder brother's birthday and I chatted with him via text earlier in the day.
I may have mentioned that DD2's section of IBM has been disbanded. She has been paid to hang on until the very end, which will be at the end of this month. She has done some work for another section the past 8 months and was hoping to get an offer from them, which has not happened, so she is job hunting. I am hopeful she will be able to find a new job soon and that she will be able to work remotely at a new job or find work in our area. It has been such a joy having her near home for the first time in over a decade!
After 3 days of others driving DH to hyperbaric, I will be back on duty tomorrow. He has an appt. with the wound care doctor immediately afterwards. We plan to try out a new Mexican restaurant afterwards.
Time to read a bit and then head to bed. I slept much better last night, with no weird dreams, thank goodness!
