Welcome movie lovers of whatever kind (in theaters, on the small screen, or on DVD). I usually start on Wednesdays but have a busy day tomorrow.
Thank you for all the suggestions. Ann, I will try WE'LL TAKE MANHATTAN next. Just looked it up and one of the photos is of the lead actress standing on the Brooklyn Bridge. Just that intrigues me.
Everyone is welcome on this thread. Have you viewed something you enjoyed? Please let us know about it. Something you didn't like? Post that as well so we can avoid it. Always looking forward to hearing about new films.

We have been watching Season 3 of VIRGIN RIVER. It is a romantic, drama much like Lifetime movies. We find it pretty enjoyable.

I watched something so zany that, although I really enjoyed it, laughing out loud many times, I am not sure anyone else would.
2 DAYS IN New York is a 2007 film directed by and starring Julie Delpy as Marion, a neurotic French woman living in NYC with her boyfriend Mingus, played by Chris Rock. Each of them has a child from a previous marriage. Their life is a bit nutty as it is, but just before Marion's photography show at a gallery, Julie's sister, father, and the sister's boyfriend come in from Paris to see the show. At this point it gets really crazy. The sister walks around in various stages of nakedness, the father (played by Delpy's actual father) was detained for a while because he came off the plane with many pounds of sausages stuffed in various parts of his body. He is an absolute delight, by the way. You cannot look at him without smiling. The boyfriend comes out with terrible things and the sister and he light up joints in the apartment building elevator with another building occupant in it.
Delpy is really talented. She also wrote the music for the film and it is fittingly cute and a bit "off the wall."
Don't know what anyone else would think but I am so glad I saw it. Going to bed with a big smile on my face.

Some of you may or may not know that I saw The Beatles in Concert at Olympic Stadium in Detroit Aug 13, 1966, so when I saw that HULU Live had a TV series McCARTNEY 3,2,1 documentary I had to start watching it. I always loved The Beatles when I was growing up but I really did not appreciated their musical genius until after John Lennon's death. The series may be too dry for many, but if you have HULU you may want to give it a try. The girlfriend I went to the concert with said that some of the episodes were online.

Geri, I just finished a VIRGIN RIVER novel. Very good. I am going to check on the rest of the books. I don't get the TV channel it is on but would watch it. The books are written by Robyn Carr . I am going to have to google this. See if they are the same.

geritru, I saw the Beatles on August 21, 1965 in the Old Met stadium in Minnesota. I googled the event. Tickets were $2.50, $3.50, $4.50 and $5.50! The Beatles were paid $50K. There were a bunch of opening acts mentioned online, I remember none of them, only the Beatles.

The Beatles concert I was at ENVY! Last night I watched a couple of episodes of Apple TV's TED LASSO, starring Jason Sudeikis as a small college football coach from Kansas who goes to England to coach a professional soccer team despite knowing nothing about the game. I love it. Sudeikis has a corny sense of humor and such a positive attitude that he seems to win almost everyone over. He certainly won me over. I will definitely continue. Anyone else seen it?

I recorded PBS PROFESSOR T. Glad I record it as sometimes I miss something and have to go back later. Last night I fell asleep while watching it. Not that it was boring but that I had a head ache.
Have any of your checked it out. ?

We watched a Mr. Ripley type film starring Vanessa Redgrave and Annette Bening. The title of the film is Georgetown. it was a well acted, unusual film. Vanessa Redgrave is unstoppable, amazing woman. Annette Benning isn't bad either
Don't know if I mentioned We'll Take Manhattan , the story of the relationship between the model Jean Shrimpton and photographer, David Bailey. I think I did so I'll stop there!

Gail, I definitely have to take advantage of the 6 months free Apple TV and watch TED LASSO. When you described it on Zoom today it sounded like a great show.
Ann, You did mention WE'LL TAKE MANHATTAN about the relationship between the model Jean Shrimpton and photographer, David Bailey. I have it on my "watch" list. I put GEORGETOWN on it, too. I love anything Annette Bening is in.

I watched WE'LL TAKE MANHATTAN, Ann. Thanks for the recommendation. It is good. Then I did some research and a lot of the photo poses in the film are exactly like the ones that were taken. How did you see GEORGETOWN?
I was wondering about PROFESSOR T, Connie. Do you like it?
