These 2 jumped out at me. it can't be that hard to eliminate 100-200 calories a day. That is having a piece of fruit instead of crackers for a snack. I also keep tempting things out in the fridge/freezer in the garage. Out of sight, out of mind.
Make tempting foods as inconvenient as possible. Keep them in an out of sight hard to reach place.
Look for painless ways to eliminate 100- 200 calories a day.

Take the stairs instead of the elevator. I don't have the opportunity to do this exact hint very often, but...I do try to look for more ways to do little things like making multiple trips up and down stairs instead of trying to carry as much as possible. Park far away instead of close.Make tempting foods as inconvenient as possible. Keep them in an out of sight hard to reach place. Yes & I try to do the opposite as well, keep the better choices ready to go, easy to choose.Create a support network. Pre-pandemic, I stopped at the WW location once a month to weigh in for lifetime. Even that little bit of accountability helped. It took awhile for me to try the virtual meetings - they do vary, but have been helpful. Just like in person, the topic of the week sometimes is meaningful to me, sometimes not.I appreciate the support here every day!Enjoy soups often. I like soup - I can definitely do this hint.

I just re-read the one about never skipping meals, I had to laugh. I may forget a lot of things, but I never forget to eat!
You guys are my main support system. When I was attending WW meetings regularly a few years ago. I had 3 or 4 different friends that would join WW. For a while they would be my weight loss partner, then, one by one they would drop out, there would go my WW buddy! Now I am doing WW on line. I never thought that I could police myself, but I have actually done pretty well with it. Portion control has always been one of my biggest problems. I have also found a channel on YouTube. It is called "Dish with Dee". Dee has several sessions each week. It is almost like attending a WW meeting. She is on live at least twice a week & everyone chats with her live. It is pretty good. She also gives out recipes etc. Plus she is entertaining.
Eating better foods is much easier right now, with all the fresh goodies available to me. Our little garden is producing like mad. Right now we have tomatoes, cucumbers, zucchini, onions. Eggplant will follow soon. We also have some beautiful peppers. DD's hubs sends us fresh corn, every week from the Amish farms near him. Last weekend, he also sent green beans & a watermelon.

My weight loss partner is my daughter. We live in 2 different states, but we do compare notes, discuss our dinner plans, and generally encourage each other.
I do pretty much follow the Mediterranean diet, more fish, some poultry, lots of fruits and vegetables, nuts, seeds, etc. I've gotten to the point where I rarely have red meat, maybe once every other week, and just don't eat processed or deli meats. I never buy them.
While I don't always eat at the table, my snacks or light lunches are carefully planned and measured so I'm not tempted to take seconds. Tempting foods are kept on top of the fridge (Doritos, chips, or other snack type things), in the freezer, preferably the freezer or fridge in the basement. Out of sight, out of mind, plus a special trip to go get any.
I also like soups, but I usually use a soup as the base of a meal, rather than a before meal item.
Strengthening my core is something I want to work on.

I finally got to read the article (at least much of the article). I don't remember reading that she is or was a Weight Watchers leader; I do remember reading that she has been Lifetime at Goal for rather a long time... And I agree that most of the items listed are ones I've heard from WW meetings. And I adhere to many, many of them. I already reduced my intake of foods: I distinctly remember hearing at one of my first meetings (anyway in the first few months, possibly even the first few weeks) that a "serving" of meat (including poultry) for a woman was 2 to 3 ounces. I thought to myself, that's ridiculous; I'll consider 3 to 4 ounces at the lowest end of the "serving size" spectrum. However, it's gotten to the point that if I eat much more than 3 ounces of boneless skinless chicken breast at a meal, I feel stuffed. And often I eat less than 3 ounces. So I guess maybe 2 to 3 ounces really is a serving size...
As for keeping tempting foods inconvenient: cookies are not allowed in my house. That way, I won't eat the entire package. No problem. I am being serious about cookies. Except for once a year: I've told you about the woman DH used to work with who makes Christmas cookies to give as gifts to everyone. DH brings them home, I open the basket or cookie tin and take them out one by one, separating the ones I want from the others. I wind up with 1/4 to 1/3 of the collection and eat them over a two or three day period. That's it for me and cookies in the house.
Thanks, Jan. I'm enjoying Martha's website, not only the article whose link you posted.
